Cora not having a heart reminds me of the Russian fairtale “The Frog Tsarevena” featuring an evil wizard named “Kostshei the Deathless”. Kostshei cannot be killed because he hid his life force in the tip of needle within an egg which was inside a duck which was inside a hare which again was inside a chest which was inside a large oak tree. (Talking of safety meassures running rampant)
Hey, that’s similar to the Giant Who Had no Heart that I mentioned! I had no idea there were more fairy tales where people hid their hearts in ridiculous places like that >w< I'll laugh my head off if she has it in a place like that, and seriously approve of it too.

ParticipantI’ll agree that it could just be that Regina’s a seriously disfunctional person but… well the scene didn’t feel right to me. Every word felt out of character and she didn’t look sincere to me either (and I know Lana’s a brilliant actress so it can hardly be that I just didn’t like her acting in the scene).
I suppose it could be as myril said, that she just meant that she was striving for her approval, but even then the speech feels over the top to me :/nightreader
ParticipantI would absolutely LOVE it if the heart turned out to be hidden in an egg in a duck’s nest in a well in a church on an island in a lake xP Now that would be a true fairy tale version.
In case no one knows that one, it’s from a fairy tale called the giant who had no heart, if I remember correctly. A giant took his heart out and hid it in the egg in a nest in etc. etc. and a prince had to find it. I just now realized that in this fairy tale the giant screamed in pain and would do anything for the prince when he squeezed the egg (which had his heart), just like with hearts in OUAT.

How? Is Hook aware that Belle is Rumple’s true love? He knew her name and that she’d lived with Rumple for a while, but surely if he knew she was Rumple’s true love, he wouldn’t have tried to trick her by saying that Rumple was going to kill her father.
I agree, Hook clearly didn’t know about Belle and Rumple’s relationship or he never would have asked her how to kill him. Also, like tiara_rose said; if he was going to kill Belle for revenge he’d do it in front of Rumple. Rumple already thought she was dead, actually killing her wasn’t going to hurt him any more than it already had.
As for the giant, I’m not sure. Could go either way, although I hope Hook didn’t kill him I think he could be capable of it. Also capable of just stealing the bean.

Was anyone else yelling ‘SHE IS BOTH!’ at the screen?
Yes xD
And I think she was probably her mother, although I’m not overly fond of the fact. It was all a bit too cliched for my tastes, but I get why it happened and all that. To me it would have been a much better episode though if Anita had just been the alpha of the pack, not Red’s mother. The whole thing would still have made sense, maternal figure instead of mother, and Red still would have learnt control. Anyways, it happened and since it did I’m pretty sure Granny was just lying (which I understand completely, if it kept Red away from the pack).

That’s something that’s been bothering me as well. Cora is an extremely powerful sorceress. She was taught by the Dark One himself. Why would she need the help of a pirate?
Maybe she just needed someone to do the heavy lifting? Prehaps distract the giant while she got the compass, things like that? It might even be that whatever ritual she needs to do to get them home requires two people, or she can’t read the compass for some reason… or maybe there’s a third thing she needs and Hook is the one who has it? Plenty of reasons she might want to keep him around.

ParticipantI think it’s more likely that they’re connected through the deal Cora made with him about giving him baby Regina. Like when he said they’re together where they belong, because technically he should have gotten her when she was a baby.
I think the idea of Henry sr. not actually being her father could be real though. It would certainly come as a shock to her I think if she were to find something like that out xDnightreader
ParticipantThe second Lancelot walked in in the castle I was just like ‘oh fudge no, that’s Cora. Wait, she can shapeshift?’ and my mind’s been buzzing since then. I too hope it won’t be abused as a power, like maybe it takes a lot out of her to use magic like that so she doesn’t use it unless she has to would be good. Still, I’m gonna be doubting everyone in FTL now. Heck, even if they just leave each other for a few moments I’ll start worrying they’re actually Cora now.
I also really hope Lancelot is alive. It’s Cora so there’s a big chance she was just lying. She could still have been pretending to be him at camp though so there’s a chance he’s even in SB or just unknown whereabouts or something… I just really want him to be alive. He’s my favorite knight in Arthurian legends and I really don’t want him to get just one episode here before being gone x.x

ParticipantWhile rewatching the scene where Whale says Charming isn’t his prince I suddenly got an idea: What if Whale served the real prince James? Maybe they were even friends and he dislikes Charming for taking his place… or something? Just a thought I had. What do you think?
I also remember hearing a theory once that he’s Bluebeard, based off the womanizing thing. Not a theory I follow myself but, again, it’s food for thought.

ParticipantI agree with daybreak_fairy, if Gold really wants the curse broken and the only way to do it is for Emma to die he’d just kill her and get it over with. So there must either be some other way or something he needs from Emma that she needs to stay alive for.
As for Regina, I took that as a forshadowing too. When she said it my head just went “that can be arranged” xP The tree does seem to have some connection to her power but I doubt she’d die if it were cut down, if she were physically connected to it we’d have seen a bigger reaction when Emma cut the branch off it.
