.Once Upon a Time season 3 is nearing the end with just four episodes left–including the one on April 27 as well as the two-hour season finale on May 11–and fans are wondering what to expect.
An official description for the episode on April 27 has been released but only the titles have for the other ones. Episode 20, “Kansas,” airs on May 4 while the finale is titled “Snow Drifts” and “There’s No Place Like Home.”
Some spoilers about what’s coming up have been given to TVLine per co-creators Eddy Kitsis and Adam Horowitz.
The episode on April 27 will answer “an enormous amount of questions,” Kitsis promised. Among them is who cast the new curse.
The May 4 episode serves up more Oz-based mythology, and introduces Dorothy. These two episodes ”will open the door to a new adventure that leads to the two-hour finale.” TVLine also reveals that someone that people think is gone for good will return for one more appearance, soon.
As for the finale itself, Kitsis said that it’s “not just two episodes crammed together in one night.”
“It was written as a two-hour movie, and it will not only complete the arc of this season, but it will absolutely set up next season.” Like what happened last season when the gang set course for Neverland.
“We’re not getting on a boat this time,” Horowitz said, “but seeds for Season 4 are planted.”
In addition, Kitsis confirmed: “There will be a wedding.”
As for season 4, it’s basically a lock since “OUAT” remains popular and is getting strong ratings. ABC just hasn’t announced any renewals yet, but is expected to sometime in May.
One interesting thing about the season 4 cast–Will Scarlet, also known as the Knave of Hearts (played by Michael Socha), from Once Upon a Time in Wonderland will join in season 4, Entertainment Weekly reported.
He will move into the cast as the major male character Neal was killed off recently in season 3.
As for other Wonderland characters, their futures are up in the air following the cancellation of the show.
