.Rumple gets others to use magic so they have to pay the price. I do think as Rumple back in the early FTL he might have used and practice all the magical tricks but as he advanced in his knowledge he did not have to resort as often to these methods. I do not think Rumple believes Cora (as evidence by the look on his face) but it suits him to let her think that he believes her. Have you ever known Rumple to deal honestly and open with anyone?

CORA uses magic all the time so she must be paying the price in someway… Maybe by the loss of her daughter’s love. We KNOW Cora has no heart… where it is hidden no one knows. Does Regina know Cora has no heart?

.Something else that stroke me as odd. From the pictures he’s supposedly visiting the coast. Yet all pics of his meal are beef and no seafood. No lobster, crab, fish????
Sorry but those meals look like my husband’s favorites… no way he would eat a fish or seafood ….. I keep telling him he has to leave me a wealthy widow with that diet …. but so far no changes.

.I THINK the reason Rumple might have used REGINA to set up the curse was because Cora went with Henry instead… another rejection of him by a woman. Rumple would not even have to be fond of Cora for him to feel rejected. Using Regina might have been pay back… get Regina and even CORA to enact the curse and pay the price of magic.
I am thinking that Gold is now paying for the magic he used because he lost Belle.
