ParticipantCOULD Dr Whale have been something evil who had no choice in FTL . IN SB he is a doctor with stature and some respectability; he may have found he liked that situation. I think that is why when he “remembered everything.” He could have been having shock because he did not like his old self….He had some choices to make.
I think that every person in SB is going to have to wrestle with personal demons and make a decision on how they are going to proceed… follow the new path of the SB lives or as they were in FTL.

ParticipantThe siren in the Ariel Little Mermaid story
Malificent would be in the Sleeping Beauty story… a real version not an Emma spin off… maybe Jennifer could play Sleeping Beauty.
Not sure where the blind witch story would be cause I do not remember any other blind witches except in Hansel and Gretel. Maybe there could be similar stories but Henry can be the child the blind witch is after.

ParticipantThe writers seemed to be replicating the middle ages during Rumbles stories but EQ and Snow are much later in time more like the 1700s in costumes and environment.
In the middle ages, the lord of the manor had the right to be the first with a serfs bride ( virgins) or the pick of any woman in the village or farms. It was the custom and many babies were born as bastards from that practice.
The Dukes/ Lords of the manor and rulers have right over life and death over the peasants. They often would kick a farmer off the fields turning them out whenever they wanted. It was much akin to slavery. There were more haneous practices. I think the story will evolve that Rumple’s wife was taken by the lord of the manor as was the custom and that is why Bae is considered a bastard… he probably born 9 months or less after their marriage. Maybe Rumples wife was angry the Rumple could not / would not protect her and that is why she bailed.

So, I was watching this episode again and one of the guards mentioned that Bae might not even be Rumpel’s son because Bae was braver than him. I know this is probably because he was mocking him, but he also mentioned that Bae was a bastard.
So does this mean that Rumpel had a wife because he got her pregnant? Is Bae even his son?
What do you guys think?
The things that happen to you is what makes you who you are. A man that takes on, protects and loves the child of another man, is a REAL MAN. I feel that regardless of who fathered Bae, Rumple is his father in every sense of the word.
The story will unravel in time. I think it will be an interesting story to follow.

Nope. He’s quite a famous Bavarian, ΓΆh, folklorist (no clue, how you say that in English, Volkskundler). He collected and wrote down Bavarian stories and fairy tales. Two years ago, they found about 500 stories in the archives of an institutes with his name β¦ Forgot how it was called. π
I read several articles on this gentleman he wrote the fairy-tales as told in oral history, instead of dressing up the stories like the Grimm brothers did for publications. He was trying to save the stories from his region as an academic endeavor more then to profit from them.
