[adrotate group="5"]My thoughts that Belle’s father was more the MAYOR of the village. He could have been Knighted in his youth by having served in the military. He could have been put in charge of the village because he achieved rank. I think this was a common practice. Young men usually of some sort of noble birth / second sons could achieve honors due to service rendered to the king/ prince / overlord. That would be away a king/ prince would maintain loyalty by honoring someone who gave service. …. keep it all in the family/ loyal friends.

I too have been tracking the EQs clothing and furnishings of the show to correlate with a time line; but more to correlate it to historical time lines of the real world.
For example Desperate Souls where Rumple becomes the Dark One I date back to the early 12-13 century since there are serfs, peasants, knights and over lords.
This Ogre War seems to relate more to the 15-17th century by the style of the clothing. EQ’s clothes seem more like Queen Elizabeth’s fancy ruffs and farthing gales then earlier times. I do think that the writers mix up the costumes to deliberately keep the time lines vague.

I think Gaston is dead. I don’t see any reason why Rumple would teleport him rather than kill him. But maybe he did spare him, like the Queen spared the kids. However, I like your theory that it was the sword that turned into the rose and not Gaston himself. Or even though it seemed like something was transformed into the rose maybe it wasn’t Gaston or his sword–maybe Rumple just conjured up the rose. Who knows, they didn’t explain.
But I do agree now that Gaston is not the rose and that’s a small relief, even if he is dead.

I think Gaston was tele-ported because of the smoke… which usually meant that magic transformed / transported the object somewhere else. On another blog they have a entire list of what the different smokes mean. I thought that magic was not to be used to kill someone..( was that only genie magic?) . although a lot of killing has gone on.

I know how to use zoom… it is also on my tool bar from FIRE FOX…. but sometimes it just does not work right…. depends on the forum and coding ….. I noted it worked better here the last couple of times I came.

I thought you blacked out my post but I accidentally hit it and it all came back…. great. I assume when other come to the post it will also be blacked out… but if they want to see it the just have to highlight over it and then they can see the words.

Aw, and Gaston came to save her… and died. And Rumple lied and said it was the old hag from the original story selling a single rose! That was kind of cool but I was still reeling from the murder. That was terrible. Did anyone else cringe when she clipped the stem of the rose?
Everyone keeps implying that GASTON was turned into the rose and his feet are cut off when she clips the rose. (here and other forums)
I thought GASTON had been turned to dust and the sword became the rose. Since the sword was inanimate it could be turned into another inanimate object. Human/ live could only be turned to ashes. … Just my theory and observation.
