ParticipantOUAT can get itself wrapped in knots when they start using those words, but for me, the overall story of the show is about true love in it’s various forms.
That’s primarily what I’m exploring in my true love meta, that there isn’t just one kind of love on OUAT. There’s so many different forms of love, romantic love, familial love — it’s all about love and personally, I don’t think there’s anything wrong with what Adam and Eddy said. I’m happy that they were able to make a distinction between the two. Could it have been a bit clearer? YES.
The concept of soulmates, the dictionary definition, actually is not that different from say kindred spirits. There’s not singular definition for everything, everyone is going to have their own interpretation but I did think it was really helpful that they provided a definition and I’m so glad that question was asked.
Hope that kinda makes sense. And I look forward to reading other people’s comments on this. It’s all very fascinating to me 😉

ParticipantI know about tooth pain. I had my wisdom teeth removed like four or five years ago. I was in so much pain after. But I’m glad you’re feeling better. I missed the podcast last night.

ParticipantI think I remember watching a play version when I was in middle school. I don’t remember the musical part of it (mostly because middle school for me was a long time ago). But I’d be interested to watch the movie.

ParticipantI think I’m probably the only one who was happy that Soulmate/True Love question was addressed. I think most of you all know I’m still working on my True Love meta and actually, the answer isn’t as complicated as it seems once you break it down.
The TV definition of a soulmate isn’t that different from ‘One True Love’ where in both, you believe that you love only one person. And actually we’ve seen with Snowing that they they are true loves and only love each other. There is really no one else for either of them. It actually connects at least those three ideas together, which is really nice. If you were to consider what we know of Snowing, then you could also classify them as soulmates as well as true love and one true love.

ParticipantI agree with all of that. It’s really disturbing to me when I read comments about that opening scene in 3A is meant to be seen as something romantic because it’s not.
Really? People think that’s romantic? How? That makes no sense. Although you’d think I’d be used to some areas of the fandom making no sense.
I think it’s because a lot of SF fans believe that since Henry is the truest believer that also makes him a byproduct of true love. Adam and Eddy have never really explained the connection. When Baby Neal was born, I think his birth produced the rainbow affect but with Emma, all it did was make the lights flicker. It’s hard to say.

It just reminds me what a crappy situation Neal and August put her in and it makes me mad at them for doing it. And I feel really bad for Emma too because Henry could have been her happy ending at that point.
And I’m glad Adam and Eddy dealt with the what if scenario in 3a winter finale. Emma needed that chance to see what her life could have been like if she kept Henry and the fact that we meet Walsh in 3b premiere just shows it wasn’t Neal Emma couldn’t get over losing; it was losing Henry.

ParticipantRobin was Robin in Lacey. The actor Tom Ellis was not available for a long time role since he already busy doing other projects.
Also remember, Adam and Eddy write season to season. They could have had an idea how to make Robin into a bigger role later on.
All the writers on Once attend a writers camp before the season starts, to get ideas and work those ideas into the story.

ParticipantThese titles usually have double meanings too; like I wouldn’t be surprised if this episode dealt with love issues ; namely Robin and Regina, rumple and Belle.
Also, this could just be coincidence but Emilie said this at Fairytales II:
Emilie says #Rumbelle may split up when she discovers he lied. Rocky road ahead. #FairyTalesII #OUAT
