ParticipantOk- so what are peoples thoughts on the whole Hook/Killian traveled back in time to save Emma
Anytime time travel is introduced into a show, it can quickly become a problem. Heroes is a really good example of this. Something bad happens, oh ok, we can just time travel back to the past and fix it. Problem solved. After a while, stakes becomes pointless. .
I’m okay with flashbacks as a means to help tell the story. I have no problem there. but I foresee, instead of time traveling, what they could be doing is skipping ahead.

ParticipantAs much as I hate watching the episode late, I’m actually glad I don’t have to deal with the live chat when episodes come on. But I’ve said it before (though probably not here) but there’s a bigger story beyond Neal’s death. There’s still more story to tell. Like the final battle that was mentioned in the pilot?
I actually like the podcast has mostly stayed away from ‘ships territory because it’s not a ‘ship oriented podcast. It’s about the show and the story.

ParticipantBefore Neal’s death, I’d reached the conclusion that SwanFire couldn’t realistically get back together romantically because there was too much water under the bridge for them. You don’t just forget the hurt and pain someone caused you to the level that Neal hurt Emma.
That’s generally what we’ve been saying all along.
It’s a shame that they didn’t keep Neal alive to show that he and Emma could be good parents to Henry even though they’re not together.
I agree. It would have been to see them at least as co-parents. But as Regina pointed, one day, Henry’s going to have more family than he can handle.

ParticipantI really want to know what’s the little girls’ name. I spent some time researching the actress and see if she had a name in the credits, but didn’t. Just “Alice’s daughter.”

ParticipantI think Emma’s speech to Neal in Ariel was the heaviest foreshadowing of Neal’s death. Also, take into account, Emma wanted to move on then. She didn’t want to believe that Neal was alive because she had already put him behind her. That’s why she was so reluctant when she heard the news.
But I also liked within Quiet Minds, how Neal had already accepted that Emma would never be more than a friend to him now. All he cared about was her happiness, even if it wasn’t with him. That’s huge character development on his part.
I had the same thoughts too when Emma mentioned “as usual”, that in addition to Walsh’s deception she was also thinking of Neal. Graham, honestly did not even cross my mind because he was always upfront with her about his identity.
Walsh and Neal are the only two instances where they lied to her about who they were.

Participant@surayya, you don’t know how badly I fangirled when I heard that. I like collecting various CS related reviews this season and as much as ‘ships aren’t really discussed on the podcast since it focuses on the show in general, it’s exciting to hear that stuff when it comes up. And to hear actual civil conversation too.

ParticipantFrom the previous Once Podcast episode, for Quiet Minds:
Daniel J. Lewis: As far as making predictions, between the SwanFire and Captain Swan ‘shippers, the Captain Swan ‘shippers have been more correct in their predictions and theories of what would happen, things such as…she cites multiple examples..but certain things like they’d been theorizing that there would be a kiss between Emma and Hook, and there was a little spoiler that Emma [Jennifer Morrison] said something, ‘When you get to kiss someone on-screen, it’s always fun.” Everyone assumed that meant Hook [and it was].
Jeremy: I love that a kiss is an event with spoilers and articles…and what not.
Daniel J. Lewis: But there have been several things where, yeah, it does maybe look like Captain Swan ‘shippers are more correct in their theories and certainly deserve recognition for interpreting the show correctly in certain directions. But I know that’s not without error.
Once Podcast, Quiet Minds, 3×15 (1:55:16-1:56:15)
And it is true, we have been right on a lot of things that have happened this season. I remember, we theorized stuff before 3A even started and my jaw dropped when those same ideas were brought up again at New York Comic Con and we would see them happen.

I think Zelena may sacrifice her father’s heart too or maybe her adoptive mother’s. There’s a lot of parallels going on with Regina and Zelena yet still being different. What about the heart of a former lover? Regina started down the path toward the curse because of Daniel’s death–his heart being crushed by Cora. What if Zelena crushed the heart of her own lover?
That’s my thought.

In the interview with Richard Hatem, he said that one of their original ideas that got changed involved Jafar creating a tornado which swept up Will’s bottle and ended up landing him in Oz. Maybe they’d take that idea and twist it into Jafar’s bottle ending up in Oz instead.Forgot all about that. Well. I think we just got our answer to that question. I call Jafar as S4 big bad
Interesting theory. I second that call.

If Aladdin is end up happening post-curse I just thought of a new idea. In a twist of fate, what if Jafar was Aladdin’s genie? Kinda seems like a twist they would do.That’s a total ONCE twist and now I sorta need it to happen.
I love this too.
