I wrote a new meta, this one relating to the wedding spoiler.
[adrotate group="5"]That’s a very good point. We don’t know the context of the scene until we see it. It could be a nightmare Belle has.
My hope for Hook now is that the writers don’t try and push the CS stuff too early after Neal’s death. Let Hook be there for Emma, let him support her and comfort her if needed, but don’t make him look like he is trying to come on to Emma whilst she is still emotionally vulnerable after Neal’s death.
I think Hook will be as he’s always been with Emma since the kiss in Good Form, which is respectful of her wishes. I don’t foresee that changing and him going back to the old version of himself. Besides, Nealfire was someone both he and Emma knew. Of course, Hook will be there for Emma as a friend (that’s to be expected, I think) but I don’t think he’ll push her into anything she’s not ready for. That would be very Out of Character at this point for him.
This is probably done on purpose, but actually, these new pics of Colin in that long brown coat, he looks more like the cartoon version of Hook now. Except it’s not bright red or orange. It’s brown.

It goes back to something I learned a long time ago when it comes to ‘shipping: you have to accept early on that your OTP may not work out, so when the time comes and something does happen that makes it not happen, you’re better prepared for it.
I’ve been a part of ‘ships before where the ‘ship I ‘shipped didn’t happen for one reason or another but it didn’t change my enjoyment of the ‘ship. It just took some time to get used to but eventually, I found a way to move on and still enjoy what I still had: fanfiction, fan art and my fellow ‘shippers.
And quite frankly, if you devote your time to fanfiction, fan art or whatever to celebrate your favorite character, that’s the best way to honor them. Creativity is an amazing positive outlet and can be very catharsis when you want it to be.
