I believe that Belle is Rumple’s true love. The gauntlet led Belle to the dagger because it is literally his weakness, it is what controls him. Rumple said in flashback that a person’s weakness was USUALLY the people they love.
Actually, the line is:
And for almost everyone, that weakness is the thing they love most. This will simply point me in the right direction.
It’s never specifically said to be a person. Just the thing someone loves the most. Thus, why the gauntlet pointed to Rumple’s dagger in the winter finale.

This one, however, I think is still iffy to me.
S5 will be about Rumple either trying to win back Belle or him trying to get back the power he lost. The choice he makes: Belle or magic, will be telling whether he puts Belle first, and whether she really is his true love or not.
The thing is, even in 4A and in 4B, Rumple was still choosing magic over Belle in some degree. In the AU universe, he had magic and Belle. He didn’t give up magic and settle down for a quiet life with Belle. So, magic still means more to him than Belle’s love. It makes me think maybe he is incapable of deciding what he really wants; it wouldn’t be unusual. Some people are just like that.
But at his core, I’m not sure Rumple can honestly make this decision to truly let go of magic altogether. Just because he’s not the Dark One anymore, doesn’t mean that craving for magic goes away.

I’ve been wondering something since the finale. Okay, so, Rumple’s Dark One’s curse wasn’t removed by true love’s kiss; it was sucked into the hat and then it broke free. Emma is cursed now, but what I’m wondering is:
Since there was no true love’s kiss to break Rumple’s curse, does that mean Belle and Rumple are still true love?
Well, let me just say, we saw Rumple’s heart in Sympathy for the De Vil and it was pitch black. And we know, hearts don’t get that way by doing good deeds. Commonly, they get that way by doing ‘evil deeds’ and in Rumple’s case, it was a lifetime of doing bad deeds.
Rumple to Belle
It seems that centuries of dark deeds do take their toll. And all that’s left of it… Is this. And pretty soon, that will be gone, too.

Seeing the famous diner we’ve always heard about. The one where all the fairytale characters who leave Storybrooke get sent. That poor waitress, as soon as she met Henry and he started spewing fairytale stuff at her, she was like, “We have another one.” Code whatever color they use to call the police.
I liked seeing Henry have a bigger role this time around.
Seeing Killian “meet” Emma for the first time and him fall in love with her at first sight.
Emma teaching Killian how to use a sword.
Seeing Snow being the Evil Queen. Ginny rocked that red outfit, even the spiky hair and omg, her ruthlessness, everything about her performance was just really fun to watch. I loved when she gathered the dwarves and Granny and asked, who’s fault it was that Regina got away. If you’ve ever played the role playing game ‘Aye, Dark Overlord!’ What Grumpy and the dwarves were doing, blaming each other just to save themselves, that’s basically the premise of ‘Aye, Dark Overlord!’
Regina and Robin being bandit rivals was interesting.
Emma admitting twice that she loves Killian. Everything about CS’s relationship has been a slow burn, but an ‘I love you’ was seriously a long time coming.
We’re finally going to Camelot. It’s no longer just a random plot device, we’re actually going to go there.
Disliked:
Rumple being handed his white heart without having earned it. I’ll probably write a lengthier rant about this later, but most other villains on this show had to earn their redemption. It’s a much longer process but it isn’t just given to them and Rumple just given his goodness back without having truly earned it, makes me sick. Because that’s not how it is. My only hope going forward is after he wakes up from this coma, he tries to genuinely earn what was given to him and atone for all the crap he’s done.
All the Rumbelle stuff, in general. AU and in Storybrooke. How come Belle seriously still love Rumple and give him a second chance after all the stuff he’s done this season? We had a brief moment where she started to rip into them and I truly enjoyed that moment but it was interrupted by Rumple dying. Rumple does not deserve a happy ending, he doesn’t deserve Belle.
Rumple in the AU. For someone who’s lived 300 years, he really has no idea what it means to be a hero. Or maybe Isaac, doesn’t. I don’t know. I did however think it was very pointless for Rumple to go around in a horse wearing so much armor when he didn’t even need it because guess what? He has light magic. Armor isn’t necessary. So ridiculous.
