[adrotate group="5"]When I was 17, I met a guy at a family wedding. He was older than me (I even lied about my age). Didn’t have an immediate crush on him (that happened later). When that crush really happened, I thought that he really liked me back. He was a musician too and close friends with my cousins. I went out with him once and always remembered him on my birthday. I made an e-card for him in photoshop and e-mailed it to him, then he wrote me back that he thought of me a friend or if I remember correctly, like a little sister and he had a girlfriend too. I was devastated at first and then really pissed off later. I was in community college then.
But at the time, I thought that I loved him because I’d never been in love before and didn’t know if what I felt was love or simply a crush. But he wasn’t the guy I ended up with.
My boyfriend now, we will be 6 years together in February. He’s not a musician (although, I did ask him to serenade me, sing karaoke at my graduation party.). And I knew he was genuinely interested in me after because after we exchanged cell numbers, I remember, he would text me good morning every day. We have similar interests and we’re both geeks at heart (he likes playing board games, I write fanfiction). And we encourage each other a lot.
First crush doesn’t mean your last love, in my case. Sometimes, the better fit for you come along later in life when you’re ready.
I think that Snow and the rest of our characters are going to discover that the EF wasn’t as great as they remember it and that since they have now spent time in the “real world” suddenly a EF Fairy Tale happy ending isn’t going to be exactly what they want anymore. I think that is going to be how Snow is going to discover that Emma and Neal don’t necessarily belong together. I think she will recognize that she and Charming belong together because they have True Love but their true love has nothing to do with it being her first love. That just happens to be the way their story reads. So she will recognize that the happy ending she visualized for Emma isn’t necessarily what she had planned, and that Emma’s happy ending might just be ending up with Captain Hook.

Oncers need to go back and re-watch “Heart of Darkness” from season one and also, the episodes where Belle lost her memory last season. True Love’s kiss didn’t work when Charming first tried it. But worked the second time when he used action rather than words to prove how much he loved her. That’s what moved her and it restored her memory. I’m betting we will see the same thing with Emma and Killian after the hiatus.
