Emma and Hook in 422Quote
OMG RG, I can’t breathe!!!
And if they go the Han and Leia route, one of them will say ‘I love you’ and the other will say, ‘I know.’

ParticipantRG, you’re just so smart.
I bow down to your knowledge. Quote
I bow down too! I remember most of that stuff that you outlined when thinking about Emma’s hero journey.

ParticipantI read the scan of Killian’s story and it’s left so open-ended if that was really Liam or if it wasn’t. My instinct was, if it was really Liam, Killian would have done everything possible to save him. But Liam’s story, it’s so incredibly convenient that was he was the only survivor…it’s too good to be true.
So, the mystery solved of who is Grace’s mother and how she and Jefferson met. Once again, Camelot is a plot device. .

ParticipantEmma the Savior facing off with the anti-Savior, Lily, could also be part of the final battle of good vs evil.
I see them more as Jacob and Esau, which is ultimately a reconciliation story.
I agree. This is probably more likely scenario than some kind of final battle confrontation.

ParticipantI suppose the broader philosophy is that one’s HE cannot be at the expense of someone else’s. “Your right to swing your arms ends just where the other man’s nose begins” and all that.
This too!

ParticipantOr the final battle could be between Emma and Rumple. If Rumple is the devil himself, it has be against him.
I think Lily and Mal will fade away into the background after this season. But Rumple could potentially become a long-term threat into season five.

ParticipantCompare this role to Jesus, according to Christians, whose role was to provide salvation for those who believe. Jesus had to pay the price (i.e. through his death), which Emma has yet to pay. You don’t really get called a savior without the suffering part being added on.
You could argue that Emma’s already through this herself. She started out in season one not believing at all about the curse, her role in breaking in and restoring happy endings. And Emma got that way because she suffered a lot in her childhood, through a lot of disappointments and heart break.
It took her a long time to believe in happy endings, or that they were even possible for herself. But she’s finally gotten to the place in her personal life and as the Savior.
