I didn’t mean to hurt your feelings, for which I apologize. I was merely trying to point out an inconsistency. I think the word preference would’ve been better to use, since the term bias sometimes carries the connotation of prejudice. Yet, I admit to having a SwanFire bias, by which I mean preference. What I meant is that you’re favoring one couple over another, but in doing so, are being inconsistent with your own stated methodology of classifying past vs ongoing romances/true loves.
I understand that now. But it could have been phrased differently earlier (so it wasn’t so offensive).
Fact 1: Neal and Emma had a romance in the past.
Decision 1: Demote SF to the blue friendship zone since you think Emma/Neal now only have platonic love in present day (which is a matter of opinion). Therefore, their romance is no longer on-going according to your stated classification system.
Fact 2: Cora and Rumple had a romance in the past.
Decision 2: Keep Rumple and Cora in the red/romance zone, despite the fact that their relationship is no longer on-going because Cora is dead and Rumple loves Belle. This is inconsistent with your stated system that a romance must be on-going to get painted as red.[/color]
I will update the color coding system.
It feels like a snub to SF fans when they see Rumple and Cora’s previous relationship get painted as red, even though theirs was in the past and is no longer ongoing, while you decide that SF is now platonic, even though they had a romance in the past. Don’t you see how that could be taken as hurtful to those of fans who love Swanfire?

Once again, I must remind you all what that this thread is supposed to be: a fun thing for you guys.
I realize there are more SF fans than CS fans and that bothers me too because sometimes I feel like I’m alone and often get snubbed myself, for ever expressing my opinion because it’s often viewed as wrong by SF fans.
If you all want to continue debating CSF, please leave it out of this thread and use the CSF thread. This thread is NOT for that. So I better not hear complaints from anyone that I am switching SF to not red or whatever.
Now, here is the new color coding/definitions:
TL = Current True Love – Couples that had True Love in the past and are still together now, in the present.
TL = Past True Love – Couples that were True Love’s in the past (flashbacks) but are currently not together in the present.
RC = Relationship Canon – any relationship between characters on Once Upon a Time, that is not romantic. Friendships, bromances, sister relationships, rivalries, frenemies…etc that have been shown to be canon. Characters interacted on screen in a non-romantic manner. I’m going to include present interactions.
AUR/CR = Alternate Universe RelationshipDoes that work for everyone?

It’s a guide and also, a fun thing for ‘shippers out there who ‘ship stuff like Henry + Cinnabon, or Hook + the Floor.
This thread was never meant to showcase only one type of ‘ship, primarily, what is canon True Love. It’s meant to showcase every ‘ship our minds can come up with.
So again, this thread is not bias because it showcases ALL ‘ships. Nothing is ever left off and I even monitor the chatbox because you guys come up with interesting names for different ‘ships and I like to include that on the list as well.
FYI, I actually came up with 4 colors to begin with so maybe, later down the line, I’ll consider revisiting that system.
I’m actually very pissed off at the moment, mostly because I’m being accused of showing “bias” where this thread is concerned simply because I am a Captain Swan ‘shipper. I really resent this.
Secondly, this thread is not a fan service. The whole purpose of this thread is to keep everyone updated on all the ‘ships we have on Once Upon a Time/and OUAT in Wonderland.
I don’t want to start a debate here because that’s what the CSF thread is for but I’m going to say this, as far as True Love is concerned.
True Love, to me is true love when it is reciprocated by both parties who share it. This is not a new concept, guys. We’ve seen it within the show.
It’s why Belle was able to break Rumple’s curse and not Cora. It’s why Charming’s been able to save Snow a couple times in the Enchanted Forest. It’s a feeling that has to be reciprocated by both parties involved and that definitely includes whatever is happening in the present.
And right now, Emma does not have feel true love towards Neal. She even said in the last episode, that it would have been easier for her if Neal were dead because she really wants to move on with her life and find her own happiness. Neal, however, does not feel the same way Emma does. They both do not share the same feelings or goals, therefore, that is why I am not calling it true love.
For those who might be interested, I am actually writing a really long meta/essay/study thing on True Love and it explores different aspects of True Love.
I started it a bit after season 3 started and am continually editing and revising it as the season goes along, which I am also trying to keep “unbiased” because it’s a study of True Love. I won’t be finished with the whole thing until after season 3 ends and have plans to post it in parts because there’s never been a discussion on this forum regarding different & all aspects of True Love.
I am updating this thread according to what I see and observe on the show.
I’ll consider updating the color coding system, but make no mistake, this thread is not a fan service and I am not being “bias.”
The thing that I keep hearing that’s been bugging me the most is how Emma should be with Neal because it’s the right and honorable thing since they have a child together. On the podcast yesterday the same thing was said plus adding in that if Emma chose Hook it would mean abandoning her family.
Is this the official podcast or the podcast here? Because I can see the host of the official podcast saying that because she is a die-hard ST ‘shipper. Daniel’s even stated on the last one, not to take a stand on which ‘ship to support which I think is a smart idea.
Not everyone who listens to Once Podcast, listens for the ‘shippy stuff. I listen for story and what’s going with the characters. I love the ‘shippy stuff when it happens, but it’s best to stay biased if you’re a podcaster, IMO.
That whole warped sense of honor and righteousness by staying with the guy who knocked her up and abandoned her for ten years is complete drivel to me. I don’t see anything that can be called “right” about Emma staying with Nealfire just because of Henry.
Adam already clarified that having a child doesn’t equal True Love. I really don’t want Emma to be miserable if that’s the reason she chooses to be with Neal. She mine as well put a tracking device or something on him, to make sure he doesn’t leave her again.
It’s probably that timeframe between Snow Falls and 7:15 a.m. when Snow is still on the run from the Evil Queen.
Haven’t watched the episode but I get the gist of the overall situation (love triangle). It’s not a love triangle. Not a real one. It’s more one-sided, which doesn’t make it a love triangle at all. It’s a line.
Emma wants to move on with her life. She doesn’t want to be with Neal because she recognizes now, that all he does is cause her pain. Hook loves her and the feeling’s mutual from what I understand.
Neal, on the other hand, still doesn’t care what Emma wants and only cares about what he wants.
This is really great stuff Adam and Eddie are giving us. So much fodder for my True Love meta (I have sections devoted to “destructive true love” and “unhealthy true love” — so what Neal’s doing now could easily go under both, or one or the other. )

OMG, the idea of Hook being shy around Emma is really cute and adorable. It makes sense. He’s been acting like this boy with a high school crush around her.
(side note: Obisgirl, I went ahead and changed the title here so we can use it for Mr. Colin’s ASK on Sunday and not open a new thread)
