ParticipantScreenwriter/executive producer Dan Fogelman (“Crazy, Stupid, Love,” “Tangled,” “Cars”) reunites with Broadway and Hollywood award-winning musical team — composer Alan Menken (“The Little Mermaid,” “Aladdin,” “Beauty and the Beast”) and lyricist Glenn Slater (“The Little Mermaid,” “Tangled”) — the return of last season’s breakout musical comedy extravaganza, “Galavant.” Having discovered the dark side of Madalena, our dashing hero’s adventures continue as he embarks on an unlikely bromance with King Richard and fights to rekindle the romance with his true love Isabella.

Galavant and Richard bromance!! I love it already.
The description refers to Isabella as Gal’s true love.

ParticipantBut “addict” is a word even Robert Carlyle, even Adam and Eddy have used in reference to Rumple.
“Because this has existed long before she came along and will probably exist long after she’s gone. This hat and this kind of quest for magic and power is so massive for him. This kind of addiction he has to it is huge.” [x]
I think Rumple does take pleasure in using magic. I mean, why do you think he was so determined to ‘separate’ himself from the dagger? He didn’t want to be the Dark One anymore but loved using magic and didn’t want to be held accountable for what he does. He loves his magic, he loved it more than Belle.
You see, you live a long time with something, you get comfortable with it and don’t want it to go away. Rumple’s lived 300 years with magic. He’s used to it, he’s comfortable using it and has no qualms about abusing it for his own selfish needs.
But being labelled an addict, absolutely should not excuse his behavior. He’s driven by his magic but he still has free will over what he does too. At the end of the day, everyone needs to be held accountable for their actions. Even Rumple.

ParticipantI think Rumple loathes his cowardly, weak self. He needs power to pretend that he’s not that person. He feels naked and vulnerable without it.
I agree. I think there’s a lot of self-loathing going on with Rumple and he likes to project that onto other people (ie. Hook). It’ll be interesting to see how Rumple can/can’t survive next season. Can he go back to just being a normal person without magic/his power?

ParticipantRemoving the “Dark One” from Rumple, I’m guessing, only resets him to his previous form. He will be the weak coward, hungry for power, and willing to do all the wrong things to get power. I think he will attempt to get the dagger and kill Emma with it, thus regaining his powers as the “Dark One”.
I expect him to struggle. Addicts always struggle, you can’t go clean overnight; that’s just not realistic.
But…
If Rumple wakes up from his magically induced hat sucking coma and all he wants to do is regain all his power, I am 100% done with his character. He CANT DO THIS again; not after his talk with Belle on the pawn shop floor.
I’m with @rumplesgirl. Him trying to steal his power back from Emma would be ridiculous. I was done with his character a long time ago, but this would further cement my hatred for him.
I think he’ll still have that selfish/greedy streak in him, though.

ParticipantI just saw this. According to a post on tumblr,
Looks like we have a replacement writer for Kalinda Vasquez! I looked Brigitte Hales up on Google and absolutely nothing came up, so she’s a newcomer. Last July, she did option a fantasy show for ABC Family called “London’s Calling”, and I believe she has written a novel. On her twitter profile, she states she loves “dark-hearted tv”. Looks like a great addition. 🙂

ParticipantSomething that really bothers me about this, so we know Merlin is likely Lily’s father but then why was Maleficent mad at King Stefan? Aurora said back in season two, first she [Mal] went after her mother and then she went after her? What was the grudge there? Not getting a wedding invite? I feel like there had to be a bigger story but the writer’s missed it and instead, gave us the epilogue of that story without even giving us the beginning or middle of it.

ParticipantNot surprising, Galavant will be the Mid-Season bridge for OUAT again this Season.

Smart move, ABC. They were supposed to do this Wonderland but someone seriously screwed that one up so bad.
