Yeah, this is not surprising. How Maleficent’s arc will be tied up, I don’t know how but yeah, new season, new villain.
[adrotate group="5"]I know not many understand Belle and Killian’s friendship; I think most are still stuck in season two where all they can see is Hook shooting Belle. The problem is, Hook is no longer that person from season two. Is he still angry with Rumple? Probably rightfully so since Rumple took his heart and forced him to become his slave so Rumple could keep his hands clean.
But the thing is now, the reason why Belle and Killian can relate as friends is because they both have something in common now: they’ve both been wronged by Rumple.
Even Eddy has said so:
He used her as a pawn to get back his revenge for Mr. Gold, but now they both find themselves on similar ground, which is they both feel betrayed by [Rumpelstiltskin.] He literally had both their hearts. Hook feels a lot of shame and guilt for getting rid of the fairies. Belle feels upset because she was deceived. We’re going to see them work together to try to repair some of the damage done.

Belle doesn’t have many long-term friends on Once; her friendship with Ruby lasted for about 2 1/2 episodes, but Belle’s friendship with Hook, I can see that becoming a long-term thing. Heck, I would even love a conversation between Killian and Belle where Killian expresses how he doesn’t understand how Rumple could continually choose power over love. I think it would hit home for Belle.
I think Belle understands too that Killian was blinded by love because she’s been there too. She was blinded by her love for Rumple that she didn’t see what he was really doing. That’s what binds friends together, they share/see a similarity in each other and now, there’s this common ground between Belle and Killian that didn’t exist before. I’m excited to see Killian and Belle’s friendship develop more throughout the season and hopefully, it lasts beyond this season too.
And it isn’t funny, how Rumple doesn’t know how to love properly and Killian is almost always the one to pick up the pieces when Rumple screws something up in his life? Belle would not be friends with Killian if Rumple hadn’t sabotaged his own marriage to begin with and become so obsessed with magic using it to free himself.

Wow, that’s pretty spacious. It’s like the theatre in the Kennedy Center.
