Okay, I’m starting to see the parallels between Neal and Regina’s backstory and how they might work. Both of them had parents who didn’t put them first. Cora took out her heart b/c love is weakness and she wanted Regina to be Queen, even though that wasn’t what she wanted.
Bae wanted Rumpel to be himself again and he made him promise if he found a way for him to be human again, he would do it but re-nicked on that promise later.
So, there’s that. They both come from broken homes and power hungry parents.
Regina enacted the curse so she could finally have her happy ending in our world, and Neal was already here (I assume).

An idea, belief, or aspect of a story that is not mentioned in the media itself, but is accepted by either the reader themselves or the fandom in general. If it is confirmed by the author of the story, it becomes canon.
Archie might work but he would have to stop being her therapist, in order for them to have a relationship.
I don’t think now is a good time for Regina to start having someone new in her life. I feel like she needs to come to terms with trying to be a good mother to Henry and coming to grips with Emma being in Henry’s life.
I’ve read a few fanfics where she’s with Neal but I’m still really not sure how I feel about them as a pairing yet.
Hook, is out of the question, simply because I don’t think he would want to be a relationship with a woman who knows how to rip into your chest and take out your heart. That’s how Milah died and he knows what it feels like too.
Basically, I think Regina needs to work on herself before she comitts to a relationship.
