ParticipantAs far as non-OUAT CS parallels, I grew up in the 90’s and loved Dawson’s Creek. I wasn’t crazy about Dawson, can’t think of anyone who was but I liked Pacey and Joey.
Around season three, the writers started to steer Joey towards Pacey and they were perfect together. Pacey understood Joey in a way Dawson never did, since her and Pacey come from broken backgrounds. While their romance didn't last, I was VERY happy in the series finale that Joey ended up with Pacey. and Joey summed up her relationship with Dawson perfectly, that also parallels ST: Dawson represented a piece of Joey's childhood, as Neil represents Emma's past and like Emma, Joey's been running from her future (Pacey) for a long time until she realized that she's not comfortable running anymore and accepts her future (Pacey), or with CS, Hook.
and oh yeah, Pacey had a boat 😆 😀 and he christened it True Love, in honor of Joey..
Also, Emma kept the handkerchief Hook used to men her hand wound — pirates always keep a souvenir of their conquests. Hook kept the enchanted wrist bracelet, which Emma wore to climb the beans stalk.

ParticipantThere’s a pirate doll in Emma’s nursery.

ParticipantI’ve had this thought for awhile, because when we see Hook in The Queen of Hearts, he’s alone. Maybe Smee leads a mutiny against Hook and that’s why he returns to fairytale land alone.

ParticipantThose lists are awesome Surayya!! 😀 Job well done.
Yup, we are definitely not delusional guys. These parallels are so blatantly obvious, someone who wasn’t familiar with CS would probably see it too!

Could Maurice have been the source that told Hook about where to find Belle?
😯 Never thought about that before, but I really hope not. I already have a very unfavorable view of Moe because he was willing to erase who Belle is in The Crocodile. If he was somehow in communication with Hook in Neverland, that would not sit well with me.

I’m not sure why in-story that Hook was confiding in Smee amongst all his crew. Meta-reason is that Smee is a more traditional confidant character for Hook and stands out more than just a random pirate. Yet in this version, Smee is “new” to Hook’s ship and shouldn’t have 2nd in command status, you would think.
Hmm, my only explanation for that is that Smee was close to the situation in The Crocodile. That’s why he continues to be close to Hook in the finale.

but I also saw Smee as not genuinely being concerned for Hook’s true best interests.
Oh, I have no doubt he’s still looking out for himself. but if I were Smee and I’m stuck in Neverland and can’t grow old — I would find a way to prolong Hook’s revenge against Rumpelstiltskin as much as possible. B/c that’s his one weakness.

ParticipantMaybe but since he is also addressing Grace in that quote (since we know that is her real name), I still have to go with Chimera that the other reality he’s to fairytale world and this reality. Not Wonderland.

I feel as though I am very neutral towards Smee. He hasn’t done anything to make me hate him, but I don’t feel any great love for him either.
I think I’m the same too. but I wouldn’t trust him since we’ve seen this season, his loyalties can be easily bought. He’s scared of growing old, which ties in nicely with never aging in Neverland and that desire to never age that essentially becomes his price.
Even though our characters never aged in Storybrooke because of the curse, you almost have to wonder what Smee was like, especially since most of our characters had some semblance of their fairytale lives (Welcome to Storybrooke).

Jefferson says in Hat Trick ” And destroy her reality? I’m trapped by knowledge. How cruel do you think I am? You think I’d inflict that awareness on my daughter? It’s hard enough to live in a land where you don’t belong. But knowing it, holding conflicting realities in your head…will drive you mad.”
I think it sounds more like two sets of memories in that the realities conflict.
I agree.

I think Jefferson’s got a couple lives in his head:
1) his life with his daughter Grace in FTL
2) whatever life Regina inflicted on him as punishment/torture
3) the crazy man he became in WL which clearly still manifests in him. That’s a good point too, but since he mentioned “realities” and not “worlds” in his quote from Hat Trick, then I’m inclined to say Jefferson only has two realities on his mind.

ParticipantWhat about Smee? In previous episodes we’d seen of him, starting with the Crocodile, he was a snitch in fairytale world and he procured objects for people. but I found it very interesting in the finale, he had a different role: almost like Hook’s conscious or his compass, always trying to steer him towards his right path (at the time) towards his revenge.
You don’t see anyone else working that closely with Hook in the finale. Only him.

ParticipantI didn’t realize this before but remember in the finale after Gold pricks his finger and spills his blood on the globe to figure out where Henry had gone?
I read another meta post and this stuck out at me:
Notice the positions of everyone in regards to the globe. They are, in essence, one family now going after one of their own. But, look at how the globe divides them in like factions. One side has Rumple & Regina. The other? Charming, Snow, Emma &…..Killian. With Killian standing the closest & in between Emma & her parents & Rumple weary & on guard. Protecting them. Killian is placed w/the Charmings protecting them from the worst person he knows of in his opinion like he’s part of the Charming family itself.
Here’s another point, in regard to Hook coming back.
Hook took the bean & began to leaves as Hook. But, he willingly turned back around & came back as Killian Jones. “Hook” is really no more.
