Very interesting question, but I agree with Phee. I imagine if there’s ever a back story for how Zoso became the Dark One, it would include him trying to kill himself and failing repeatedly, thereby confirming that the Dark One cannot kill himself.

It does feel like the writers are purposely crushing all the rumbelle hearts out there but then, I remind myself, that this show loves to give us twists and turns, so for the moment, I’m inclined to think it’s some kind of spell or a dream where Cora kisses Rumpelstiltskin.
I’m going with dream sequence.
I had a thought if Neal isn’t Baelfire, what we could see in a scenario like this:
Manhattan is the first place Emma, Henry and Mr. Gold goes too. Emma happens to see Neal, Neal’s all 😯 😯 😮 ‘I better start running’ and she chases after him. Gold thinks Emma’s chasing after Bae, but really she’s just chasing after her baby daddy. The situation would create all sorts of confusion — unless Neal turns out to really be Bae and then 😯 😯
It’s Christmas Time in the Regina Mills household!! There was a Christmas tree in the background, it was sparkly and pretty.
Don’t trust Cora, Regina. I don’t think she will because she knows Cora framed her for Archie’s murder. That’s not a very motherly thing to do.

I don’t know. Very good question though. I think it was the first, although there could have been a time that he loved Milah too.
