ParticipantShe knew the child was a girl but never knew her name. If the EQ knew her name, she would have been like 👿 That’s their daughter! But the funny irony is that she doesn’t know. 😆
If I remember, her expression during that last bit where Mr. Gold implies that he thinks Regina knows who Emma is, she looked absolutely confused about what he was talking about.

Actually, I don't think that will be the case since we're going to see a mini-Snow White in this episode. Bailee Madison was cast as a young Snow White, the Stable Boy — well, he's like in his twenties or something. So, I don't think the writers are going that route.
I agree that Snow is not a rival for “the Stable Boy’s” affections. I also do agree that Regina was forced into an arranged marriage to King Leopold (ala King George).
My theory is that Regina shares with Snow the secret that she is in love with a commoner, which as young children are prone to do, Snow (probably inadvertently) reveals the secret. I have a hunch that the commoner is killed by Regina’s mother because of this. Interestingly, this results in Regina only loving him more and spending the rest of her life trying to vindicate her loss somehow.
😮 I was actually thinking the same thing. If Regina’s mother is the one who kills her love, she could have lied to Regina and say that Snow outed the identity of her true love and that possible lead to his murder and the origin of her hatred for Snow, which would be entirely misplaced because it was actually her dear mother who killed him because she wanted Regina to marry the King.

I do think that probably as time went on (well, I guess not really) she may have gotten “comfortable” with time standing still and fell into a pattern of being large and in charge as mayor of Storybrooke and Henry’s mother; just gotten used to the curse working.
Interesting observation.

And then Emma showed up and suddenly Regina has to face the facts that the curse isn’t going to go exactly as she has planned. I think Rumple was just sitting tight waiting for Emma to show up on 28th birthday – there wasn’t any reason for him to confront Regina or let on that he remembered because nothing was going to start to happen until Emma showed up and he knew that.
That is very true.

ParticipantI’m in Northern Virginia, USA — actually pretty close to Washington, D.C.
I only know two others Oncers near me, my boyfriend of course and one of my longtime girlfriends.

I think it just sort of happened as a mechanism of the curse. I can’t see EQ sitting down with a chart and making up new names for people. (And if she did, I would think they would be mean names. Snow would have been Jezebel or Slush or something.) I would just see them waking up with knowledge of their names, just as they knew where they lived and what jobs they had.
Sort of like the ‘Twilight Zone.’ But that’s a funny image of the Evil Queen coming up with names for them. Calling Snow White ‘Slushy’ which would be a good name for her if she were a dwarf but there are no female dwarfs.

ParticipantIt’ll be interesting if we ever get a flashback episode when everyone woke up in the real world, how they were given their name? Was it the curse or did everyone just wake up with a name in mind, and that became their name? I doubt that they were able to choose their RL names.

ParticipantI think a OUAT creative forum is needed. New fanvid threads are starting to get mixed up with the General Discussion threads. maybe a couple separate subforums: for OUAT fan vids, Once fanfiction, a separate forum for Once icons and another for Once fan art.

For general discussion on the Once Upon a Time character Regina Mills/Evil Queen.
Here are a few study questions to get the conversation started:
1. What was the Evil Queen’s reasoning behind choosing this particular curse?
She tried to kill Snow by hiring the huntsman (that backfired since he took pity on her), the poisoned apple didn’t work. The dark curse was probably her last option.
@Midnight Dreary wrote:
2. Does the Evil Queen know all of the details of the curse?
She may not. She knew the curse would create an existence where all happy endings would be stolen but she didn’t even know that Rumple would end up remembering his FT past, which is why he allowed him to have a good life and agree to his stipulation that she has to obey whenever he says, “Please.”
@Midnight Dreary wrote:
6. Why did Regina Mills choose to adopt a son?
I think the reason why adopted Henry is because she learned very quickly that what Maleficent said was true, enacting the Dark Curse will create a void she will never be able to fill. But the EQ, being a stubborn witch, decided to adopt Henry, thinking he could fill that void but I don’t think it really has.
@Midnight Dreary wrote:
7. What is the Evil Queen’s relation to Rumpelstiltskin?
I had a spin-off theory that she was Rumple’s original wife but I don’t think that’ll work anymore. From ‘Skin Deep’ though, it looked like they were ‘frenemies’ like how the EQ is frenemies with Maleficent.
@Midnight Dreary wrote:
8. Does Regina Mills know about Rumpelstiltskin’s dagger?
I hope not. I don’t want the EQ to have more power than Rumple.
@Midnight Dreary wrote:
11. Will Regina Mills/Evil Queen ever be fully redeemed?
I want Mr. Gold/Rumple to be redeemed but I’m not sure I like the idea of the EQ being redeemed. Some people are just innately evil. I think the EQ is pure evil. Plus, I don’t want to forget how she crushed Graham’s heart.

41Rapunzel I was just reading a wiki page that said episode 20 – The Stranger is supposed to focus on Pinocchio. the episodes title and short summary on it makes me thinks all of out theories on August be a test run for Gippetto might just be right!!
You could be right. It seems more and more likely that the mysterious stranger (aka August W. Booth) is Pinocchio (unless the episode title The Stranger is meant to be a red herring). The idea that August always tells the truth, but then went on to mislead Red about there being lemurs in Nepal, agrees with the Pinocchio story line. Although Pinocchio was always supposed to tell the truth, he actually often lied, which is why his nose grew long.
Hmmm…I’m not sure how I feel about the Stranger being Pinocchio. I think it would make more sense if the Stranger was a new character like Emma.

I am going to be so disappointed if this all boils down to MM and Regina having feelings for the same boy. If all of this is because REGINA wanted some boy that only had eyes for SNOW.
REGINA has feeling for some commoner / the stable boy, but he only has eyes for SNOW. Maybe the boy gets banished / killed and that is why REGINA HATES SNOW….
Actually, I don't think that will be the case since we're going to see a mini-Snow White in this episode. Bailee Madison was cast as a young Snow White, the Stable Boy — well, he's like in his twenties or something. So, I don't think the writers are going that route.
