ParticipantRobin saw past the whole Evil Queen moniker, and saw the redeemed woman underneath. He’s never once thrown her past back in her face, and even though he knows she’s responsible for Marian’s death, he understands that she was a different woman back then, and that she wasn’t like that anymore.
I understand that but…
In a normal, real-life situation, Robin I think would react very differently to learning that Regina killed his wife. I don’t think he would take her back with open arms. Marian’s not only his wife but the mother of his child. This is also the same woman he would have walked through fire for.
Robin/Regina would not possible in a real life scenario like that but for the sake of the show, the story and the relationship because Robin is supposed to be with Regina, Regina murdering Marian gets swept under the rug. And that’s more than a little disturbing.
I have no qualms with Marian. I think it’s sad she’s become a plot device but it’s also not the first time either that a first love (on this show) has become a plot device in order to prop up another character and make them look better too. It’s also not fair to the character of Marian as well. (Nealfire had more character development than Marian).

You know, I was thinking, maybe we can play a Captain Swan game or something? I miss the interactivity here in the CS thread. Maybe a Captain Swan quote game or something.

ParticipantI agree @priceofmagic with everything you said there. I get that Adam and Eddy didn’t want to write a love triangle here and they really haven’t considering Marian’s been in a icy coma for just about most of 4A and their intention was to show that Regina had changed (which she did) but I think that could have been accomplished other ways as well.
I also would have liked to see more development from Robin as a character. I think my biggest complaint, IMO, is that he’s never really made a decision in most of 4A. From my POV, most of what he’s done is react to stuff that’s happening to him. I think most of us are familiar with the Robin Hood legend but still, just a little character development from him would help round out his character. (Sean is great. I love watching him in conventions but I really feel so much more can be done with his character but the writing doesn’t allow it).
I also would have liked to have a little more about Marian/Robin backstory. The scene with Will was nice but again, it’s not enough. Most first loves on Once have a pretty solid background. We got a backstory with Neal and Emma, why can’t we have the same with Robin and Marian? To help fill in the gaps in that relationship before moving onto OQ?

ParticipantThat teaser for 4A was a bit of a let down. There’s still 11 episodes left in the season, stuff can still happen.
I think if Hook wants revenge, Emma will fight for him not to give into that dark side.

ParticipantI don’t think it’s a literal thing.

ParticipantAh.

ParticipantFirst time I’ve read an article that connects Maleficent with being a bad fairy. I don’t think we’ve ever seen or read that being confirmed on this show.

ParticipantBoard the Jolly Roger on an adventure with the young Killian Jones, before he was known as the notorious Captain Hook, as he uncovers the mysteries of the Leviathan Shoals and the monster that lurks beneath the surface.
Hmm, interesting. That’s not what I expected. With a picture of Hook, I thought it would give us more flashbacks to his time as a pirate. But more Killian Jones backstory before all that is awesome too. Good form even 🙂
Actually, I think this is set before the events of the Crocodile but after Good Form. Might even be before Milah.

ParticipantDo they mean it literally or like metaphorically?
It could be both. Either way, I love it.

ParticipantBut Batman always came first. He’s not even out of puberty yet!
