I agree with most of all about how Charming and Snow relate to Emma. One of the sections in my true love meta deals with parental relationships and between Charming and Snow, Charming knows better how to interact best with her. I think Charming realizes it’s time past for the whole protective father thing, but he can play it up when the situation sort of calls for it. Like the date with Hook. With ‘make sure she’s not out too late’ even though Emma’s not a kid and Hook isn’t one either. It was still sweet and funny.
But with Snow, I think with her, instead of caring to learn how to be a mother now to Emma, she’s running away from it by trying be a full-time mom to Neal. Snow doesn’t want to fail Neal the same way she feels she felt she failed Emma. But Snow also doesn’t want to talk about those feelings, so they come out through her love for baby Neal.
I actually miss it when Snow and Emma talk because it doesn’t really happen anymore. The last time these two had a serious talk, I think it was ‘A Curious Thing’ last season when they were searching for the book for Henry. Prior to that, I think it was in Neverland in Ariel (3×06). I would love it if Snow took the initiative and talk to Emma. They did a lot of talking and bonding in season two when they were in Enchanted Forest.
But if they do though, I wish Snow wouldn’t force her true love values on Emma and instead actually listen to Emma. Because I could not stand that about her in the Neverland arc.

And of course the memories from last season were fake memories. But they were believable enough that’s what Emma remembered, that she and Henry were always together.
I also love John and Aeryn from Farscape.
Their first meeting I think set the tone for their relationship in the series. He’s human, she’s not but throughout the series, she learns to be more compassionate and more human than alien. John is the alien because he’s trying to navigate the universe without getting himself killed. They even sort of a had a true love’s kiss, to see if they were compatible (which of course they were).
I think Jen said somewhere that the Emma loses control of her powers has less to do with her insecurities with her mom and more about, this is what she missed out with Henry.
I don’t think Emma feels that she’s being replaced by baby Neal. I don’t know, I think that feeling of replacement makes more sense for children who are slightly older than the younger baby.
My mom’s goddaughter is only a year younger than her older sister. The older sister might not be able to vocalize it but I feel fairly sure that she resents not being the baby anymore. there’s things should be able to do on her own at this age and she still needs mummy’s attention.
I don’t get that vibe with Emma.
That’s not to say Emma can’t feel some resentment towards Snow but I think Emma’s worked past those issues. She even told DQ that she understands now why her parents gave her up.
Bed – Hook. The leather, the hook, I’ve written and read too many NC-17 Captain Swan fanfictions, that if he were real, I would.
Wed – Robin Hood. He lives by a code (which can be frustrating at times) but it is admirable.
Behead – Rumple. He used to be my favorite and now, I just cannot stand him. I have a seething hate him that didn’t exist for three seasons.
What ‘ships I loved outside of Once Upon a Time?
I think I would be insanely happy when young Selina and Bruce meet in Gotham. It has to happen at some point this season.
I love Nolan and Emily from Revenge. I think of all the guys Emily’s been involved with on the show Nolan is the one who understands her best. I understand romantically, nothing may never happen but I love their scenes together.
I loved Bash and Mary from Reign. Historically, I knew it wasn’t going to last because Bash, as awesome as he is, he is a fictional character and Mary Stuart was a real person. So even though it’s the CW, the writers are going to try to stick to history.
Oh God, don’t tell me Belle still does not know the truth when 4B begins. I would seriously be disappointed in her character if she continues to ignore it.
