SpoilerTV just confirmed with set pictures and report that August is dying in 2×18 and is brought back as a little kid.
Well. There’s character development for you. While August isn’t my absolute favorite character (that would be Regina who they are similarly character assassinating), he’s one of them, and this is the most horrible treatment ever. And it’s the last straw. I just will not be watching the show any longer, which really hurts to say, but… I can’t accept this. If they do this to August, they will do it to other characters. The writers just don’t care.
[adrotate group="5"]oceangypsyParticipantUnless August explicitly wishes he were *exactly* the same. Or maybe he says “I want to be who I used to be” or something, in which case his clothes might change. Also, I mean, if Blue can turn a man into a cricket, it’s probably not a stretch to turn a man into a child.
… But then I thought her magic was neutered at the moment.I don’t know, I really hope Geppetto is just seeing things. I really hope we get more filming scoop to our at least see Eion on set after this.

OK, so I managed to get the thread to load and can see the thumbnails and it’s the pic of Eion in the green getup, and there’s also one of youngPinocchio. It’s not letting me click the thumbnails to see them full size, but Pinocchio is dressed as Pinocchio, which makes no sense to me, because if I were making this show and wanted to show adultAugust revert to childPincchio is SB, I’d have the kid wearing the same clothes that adultAugust had been, not his FTL garb. That may be nitpicky, but to me it doesn’t compute. *headdesk*
Their exact words from a few posts down in the thread:
It seems like it. August Wayne Booth was lying on the floor and then they cut, changed the actor to the young Pinocchio and resumed filming.
The clothing discrepancy is what is throwing me to. Why would his outfit suddenly change? Hat and everything? Unless Geppetto was carrying the hat with him and handed it to him.
Is it possible young Pinocchio is just a vision Geppetto is having? Maybe because this is the first time he’s seen his kid in 28 years?
I don’t know. At this point I’ll accept any explanation except him becoming a child again. It will screw up the show.oceangypsyParticipant@Phee wrote:
The VCF site isn’t loading for me right now so I can’t see exactly what they said, but I’m hoping they interpreted events wrongly. One of things that would annoy me about it would be that it wouldn’t be consistent for Gepetto to get his child back as a child to make up for those lost years, because they surely won’t do the same for Bae and Rumple, or Emma and the Charmings, or even Henry and Emma.
Also, August has things he needs to be held accountable for, and I doubt they could wrap that all up properly in one ep, and if he reverts to being a kid, then that can’t all be properly resolved.
It’d be disappointing on multiple levels if they go that route with the character, so here’s hoping it won’t be the case.
Totally agree, Phee. I feel like it’s a disservice to the character and the fans.
Yeah, I know. It could be because Eion doesn’t want to be a regular (or recurring). (I REALLY don’t believe those “rumors” that have been spread–it was even stated the set guy was joking around). But, even if Eion wants out, why not write him off some other way? Have him leave town, fade into the background, something. At least if they did that it would keep him open to re-appearing. If he turns into a kid, it’s a pretty permanent change. Also, it completely erases all of his character development. It’s like he never existed.
Furthermore, it sets a precedent. Emma can turn back into an infant so Charming and Snow can raise her! Nealfire can get another go with Rumple! Everyone can reclaim their youth! I mean… bzuh?
Maybe we’ll get to hear about this from Eion’s perspective after the episode airs. If it was his call, then I’d feel much better about it. As of now, I am very disappointed in this sort of character treatment. Mind wipes and resets are the worst.
oceangypsyParticipantDid you all ready Vancity Filming’s newest spoiler? It appears as though August gets transformed into a little kid again by the Blue Fairy. I guess August wishes he could do life over again.
I am really, really bummed out if this is true. I don’t even know if I’ll be able to go on watching the show if they pull such crap. It’s like all his character development was for nothing. The worst kind of twist to pull in a show: the reset button.
Hopefully Vancity misinterpreted the scene they filmed, but it does seem kind of damning. Eion was lying on the ground and then Jakob (young Pinocchio) took his place and filming resumed.
I guess the writers really wanted to write Eion off but didn’t want to kill Pinocchio in fear of Disney’s fiery retribution?
oceangypsyParticipantYeah, I think the woman chasing him is either with Blue, Cora, or a mysterious third party. Not sure if t is Tamara yet, but who else could it be? We know she’s in the episode and didn’t appear in season one.
Maybe she was part of Blue’s “preparations”.
As for where the chase occurs, my bet is Manhattan or Phuket. Probably not SB.
oceangypsyParticipantOh that’s a great point. Cora can’t hurt Emma, but Rumple probably can. Game plan for them then is to get their family together (Cora, Regina, Henry). Idk how they could try a Regina Redemption after that though.

My guess is they want to make Rumple suffer. Force him to kill Belle or Bae.
I think she said that suffering wasn’t the reason either…that’s when she started talking about the devious plot that was afoot.
Hmmm… Then my guess is they need Rumple’s magic for maybe even. .. good? That would be a twist, right?
Phee, I’ve been thinking the Blue Fairy is nefarious as well. She’s been involved since the beginning. Pulling strings or something.
Maybe Cora needs Rumple to take down Blue? If August *does* have Cora’s heart, maybe Blue was the one to give it to him? (Though this is beginning to hedge on incredibly unlikely)
oceangypsyParticipantI’m curious what Cora and Regina want with the dagger if not to kill Rumple. I guess it makes sense that they wouldn’t want to kill him with it (since Regina or Cora would become “the Dark One”).
My guess is they want to make Rumple suffer. Force him to kill Belle or Bae.
That, or maybe they think with Rumple under their control they can combine their magic to take SB back to FTL -or maybe they want to take over the land without magic?
There is probably a reason 2×17 is a flashback episode right after they get the dagger (2×16). Maybe they force Rumple to incapacitate the town (so the SB townsfolk get stuck reliving the past)? I think it has got to be significant that the flashback is after that episode. Otherwise it seems out of place.

There were some other spoilers floating around that the episode features a scene where August gets chased through a crowd by a woman (who was not in season one). I wonder who was chasing him and why.
Do you remember where you saw that? Just did a quick google and didn’t find anything. Could have been Tamara?
I asked my friend where the spoiler came from. It was an extra who was on set. She posted about the scene on Twitter, but has since deleted the tweets. You can read the transaction here to see the reactions of other Twitter users.
I know the person chasing him was a woman. I’m assuming it’s gotta be Tamara.
