Lucy’s one single tear (of belief? of disbelief?) woke up Anastasia but seems to have put Lucy in a comatose state. What would wake Lucy up? Who can wake her up? And now that Anastasia is awake what does Drizella want with her sister?
for Reasons, it will be the curse breaking via TLK between Henry and Jacinda (rather than Jacinda and Lucy!) that might wake up.
Drizella might want to turn Anastasia against her mother. Showing Antastasia Lucy’s comotose body (to explain what her mother did to ”wake” her) might be one way among several.

I was right that Ella was only accidentally involved in Anastasia’s almost death.
I am still non-the-wiser as to why Ivy feels unloved by Rapunzel. Their past showed the child rejecting the mother, not the other way around. Perhaps R didn’t make enough effort, but this episode didn’t show this.
More importantly, I would have liked to know why Drizella seemed to have been born with magic. Perhaps this will come in later episode (here’s hoping!).
THEORY 1:
Perhaps she was destined to be guardian (because Reasons/Universe), and that is why Rapunzel suppressed her magic….so that Gothel wouldn’t take her and make her suffer in order to test her. This might also explain why Ivy would be rejecting her mother, and feels rejected by her mother also (because R rejected who she was….a person with magic).
Back to my reaction: I also would have liked to know why mother Gothel of all people needs to find a guardian. Is she the official guardian-finder or something?
No Roni or Tilly.
THEORY 2:
Now, that Drazilla’s heart is too dark to be the guardian (assuming that that was her original destiny), perhaps it will be Regina? Afterall, she has done nothing but suffer for her family from later seasons onwards, with no reward. Some of it was part of her much-needed redemption, but there were times when it seemed that Regina had achieved redemption (minus Graham, which is something the writers just don’t want to acknowledge) and was just suffering for the sake of suffering. Moreover, she is suffering right now by being awake and not having a mother-Son relationship with Henry, and by shouldering the responsibility of keeping Henry and Ella apart. In addition, let’s not forget that she has displayed light magic in the past when she attacked Zelena, and had difficulty learning dark magic, pointing to her natural inclination towards light magic. She is also very protective, a mother figure to all despite her infertility (hence, a ”guardian”).
So maybe the guardian destiny has been Regina, then Drazilla, then back to Regina.
SPOILER One thing that might throw a spanner in the workings of this theory is the promised casting of a certain character in the second half of this season.
THEORY 3
This is one is based on pandering to the fans rather than logical story-telling. Hook 2 is the guardian because he is purposely keeping away from his daughter to protect her. I don’t think he has suffered enough compared with Regina, though.
THEORY 4
My original theory was that Alice is the guardian. She hasn’t suffered enough for her family though. I don’t think looking for a cure for her father’s curse is as much suffering as what Regina has experienced. So I am tempted to throw this idea out the window.
***************to answer other people’s confusions******
1) the camera was likely in the teddy that Belfry gave to Jacinda. (I agree that Belfry lucked out with both camera placement, and the kiss. What would have been her back-up plan to make Lucy lose her belief???).
2) Mother Gothel locked Rapunzel in the tower because she was searching for someone who was pure enough to be the guardian, and the tower was a test. Her definition of someone who is pure of heart enough to be the guardian is someone who would sacrifice their own happiness for their family. The tower took away R’s freedom and ability to be with her family, and therefore her happiness was sacrificed.
3) My assumption about the hair was that it was R’s choice to grow it that long so that she could use it as a rope to escape (and it would have taken several years to grow it to that length, hence the time gap). Question is though, why didn’t Mother Gothel get suspicious about her growing her hair? Again, my assumption is that Mother Gothel simply let her escape to move onto the next purity test, or maybe she wanted to see to what lengths R’s pure heart would lead her to reunite with her family.

November 20, 2017 at 8:00 pm in reply to: 708 "Pretty In Blue" Favorite/Least Favorite Moments #344798onceaholicParticipantEdit: just remembered this show’s second rape-by-deception (and this show’s third rape overall). Much as I love R and Z, the show should have dealt with these if they were going to redeem them. As such, I really hope that Gothel is not redeemed. Still, it did upset me that the writers went that down that route AGAIN.
I’ve counted: 1. Regina to Graham (heart control) 2. Zelena’s father to Cora (claimed to be a king) 3. Zelana to Robin (impersonating Marian) 4. Arthur to Guinevere (Sands of Avalon) 5. Mentions of Hook getting women drunk 6. This episode There’s also the issue of Cora painting a lion tattoo on the SoN to fool Regina.
Oh yes I had forgotten about the others.
However, bad people do bad things. As I said, it is when redeeming/redeemed villains on the show do not acknowledge it or call it rape (or an alternative word that kids can hear) that I can’t stand it. These writers don’t seem too far removed from the Hollywood perverts, given the writing.

November 18, 2017 at 8:16 pm in reply to: 708 "Pretty In Blue" Favorite/Least Favorite Moments #344716onceaholicParticipantAKA ….I also agree that OUAT is trying to shove Ella and Henry down our throats and now they are saying that they are true love because of some necklace. How about just developing their story slowly so we can actually try and like them.
I think A&E see the writing on the wall and this will be the last season for this show … They are rushing the story to get it done by the end of the season… no time for character development of characters we do not care about. . .
This is the impression I am getting, so I am forgiving them for rushed plot points and character development.

I stuck to the theory too
yey!
Keeper of Regina's bravery
onceaholicParticipantI disagree, Ella looks 10 years older than Drizella.
Keeper of Regina's bravery
onceaholicParticipantLemme guess. The girl who collapses is teen Anastasia, and Ivy somehow is accidentally responsible for her near-death due to clumsiness and/or stupidity and/or not following her mother’s instructions. As she collapses, Belfry uses some potion or flower she kept from when she escaped the tower to save her last breath, or has some know-how that she learned from being around Gothel. Since then, Belfry has always hated Ivy, blaming her for her sister’s near-death, and always believing that Ivy/Drizella is through and through incapable.
Keeper of Regina's bravery
onceaholicParticipantI think Mother Gothel inflicted it on them and Drizella made Alice think she had cured it for her. Again, considering Drizella has been able to control her magic for less than a week, I don’t understand how.

onceaholicParticipantI am confused by Nick/Jack. He seems to have our-world level of knowledge on Star Wars, making me wonder if he somehow traveled from our world, too. But perhaps Henry told him all about it.
Yes, there will be a love triangle.
I felt more chemistry between Jacinda and Nick than I ever have between Jacinda and Henry. Despite that though, Nick being Lucy’s father could be just a cursed memory thing though for both Jacinda and Nick/Jack that Ivy built into the curse. Afterall, Ivy needs a back up plan to keep Jacinda and Henry apart.
As for whether he is a good guy or not…..I think Belfry or Ivy may have threatened him in some way, leading him compromise the Resistance. I think he is just an ordinary guy but weak in character.
Edit: And Henry will be Lucy’s father, not Nick.
Keeper of Regina's bravery
onceaholicParticipantWhy would Zelena hate Regina? I don’t even remember where she was left off.
I don’t know why this is blacked out, seeing as this comment refers to past episodes only.
Yeah, I don’t understand why they would be at each other’s throats again, seeing as the last time we saw them they had made up.
But it would make sense that Zelena would be somewhere mundane, seeing as SB is a magnet for all kinds of magical trouble, and Z no longer has her powers, meaning that she can’t protect her daughter. Z is now ordinary, and needs to go somewhere ordinary to protect herself and her daughter.
If it wasn’t Z though, who would it be? All of the ”important people” that Regina upset are either dead or have forgiven her.
A long lost cousin of Regina’s? We know nearly nothing about Henry’s brothers or sisters and their children and their claims to King Xavier’s throne.
Oh, dear: Regina is, among other things, looking forward to a little bonding time with her long-lost son. Henry, on the rebound after his new love interest dumped him, only knows (or at least believes he knows) that the hot chick who runs the bar — and who has been extremely friendly with him — has invited his suddenly-single self on a road trip.
Please show, for the love of God do NOT go there.
