ParticipantHow does he know that Belle left him?
Was it Hook controlling her afterall, or just heard it from Belle herself or the rumour mill, I wonder.
Is it bad that I am sort of excited that next week is the winter finale because Iâll get a break from this nonsense? I love the show, but what even happened to this season? I was very positive about the beginning and it quickly diminished.
Not bad. I feel the same way. However, due to nature of overall theme for 5B I suspect it will be like 3A: lots of walking around in circles in a tacky set and even worse CGI.

Participant1. Once Upon a Time (Regina’s journey, specifically).
2. X-Files (Opened my mind up to the possibility of power behind governments).
3. Breaking Bad (Made me realise that not all things are black and white. Good people can do bad things to protect those they love to the detriment of themselves).
And that’s it really. Books influence me more than TV programmes.

Participantf the writers want me to believe that she is BPD rather than a psychopath and therefore is redeemable, then they will need to show me more of her past growing upâŚ.they would need to show the systematic abuse of a lovely child who resisted the dark side up until seeing Regina get everything broke the donkeyâs back.
I wonder if the writers actually diagnose their characters. Iâm not sure theyâve given any thought to any sort of medical psychopathy for anyoneâHook, Rumple, Regina, Zelena. But I agree with you; Zelena, IMO, isnât really redeemable about this point, but will be.
No, but they should. Researching and then designing your characters off of real-life psychosis’ is basic whenever you a character that is toxic.
The only thing that has kept me watching the show is Regina’s journey as a BPD sufferer. But if they make Zelena able to switch to being good so easily after her fast switch into darkness then I am not sure if I can keep watching. Even in fantasy, there needs to be some psychological concepts anchored in real life.

ParticipantAhead of season 2?
So after the dark curse was cast and before it was broken? How the heck did Hook get to SB? Or did Regina just leave the town’s borders, because she could?
Ahead of Season 2 could mean anytime before season 2 of course, but if it was pre-DC then they would have said ”Pre-season 1”.
Or does it mean the scene between them in Season 2? (What an odd way to express it if it is).

ParticipantCan Zelena be redeemed?
If it is borderline personality disorder (which, in rare circumstances can drive the sufferer to become murderous) then yes, she can be redeemed. In real life, BPD sufferers manage themselves all the time, and some go on to a full recovery.
If it is sociopathy/psychopathy, then no, she cannot be redeemed, as this cannot be fixed (though in borderline cases it can be managed).
This is why I have always said that Regina has BPD, her decent into darkness took months, perhaps years. Whereas I don’t think Zelena has been portrayed as someone who grew up feeling controlled and unloved. It seemed to me that the father became nasty only after her mother died ( I will have to watch it again). Also, her desecent into darkness was very, very quick…it took days, if that. So from what we have seen on screen, she seems to be a boarderline psychopath/sociopath.
To answer your question. In terms of what we have seen on screen and in terms of psychiatric disorders, no I don’t think she can be redeemed, if the writers are sensible. However, it seems that they will redeem her.
Can she be redeemed? As in, is she redeemable? No.
Will she be redeeemed? yes.
If the writers want me to believe that she is BPD rather than a psychopath and therefore is redeemable, then they will need to show me more of her past growing up….they would need to show the systematic abuse of a lovely child who resisted the dark side up until seeing Regina get everything broke the donkey’s back.

ParticipantUmmmmâŚIâm confusedâŚ.How did Emmaâs family fail her??????!!!! Not to mention that Emma told them in the season premiere that they had to pay for doing what they did to her? Was there an issue in the writing room, were they undecided on what occurred in Camelot, because if you watch the earlier part of the season, youâd think the family had burned Hook at the stake how Emma was acting all âDark One and you must sufferâ.
Yeah Iâm confused on this as well. I donât get how everyoneâbut Henryâfailed her.
My take on this was that it was part of the web of lies that Emma spun to keep everyone’s attention off Hook, and the real reason for casting the curse etc.

ParticipantI think a thread for this was started 2 weeks ago already. I can’t remember exactly what I wrote but I said something like….
….if it isn’t a name that means ”green” then she will be either Cora, or Marian…. seeing as Adam and Eddy have a penchant for inappropriate baby names (Henry, Neal).
Or maybe a name that ends with an -eena sound. Like Christina, Mina, Sabrina, Georgina, Josephina, Angelina etc
And that I would laugh if she was named Morgana.
Edit: here is a Greek name that means ”green shoot” and is a name related to the Greek Goddess Demeter: Chloe

ParticipantHmmm not sure what to make of this one.
Merlin brewed some potion then used it to record a message. Hook dumped Merlin’s heart ashes in the same potion to cast the dark curse. I thought the dark curse had more ingredients than that? And why would it be almost the same ingredients for a recording device and the dark curse?
I don’t understand why Belle feels the need to protect herself from Rumple at this point. She could say that she has had her heart broken so many times that she now feels nothing, but that is not what she said. Is this the writer’s odd way to build up for pregnant! Belle?
I think Belle was being controlled. In this episode she was all, âLater, bro!â, but at the end of 4A, her dumping Rumpel was played very differently.
Perhaps Hook is controlling her as a part of his revenge.
As for the portal to Hell…there happens to be one in Storybrooke (perhaps all water is a gateway to hell???) and what an easy way to open it!!!! Amazeballs!!!
