“You will get a glimpse of him before knowing his identity as the Author. It’s a fun reveal,” Parrilla says. “He’s very unexpected. You can’t guess who the Author is. He’s unassuming. You’ll see him and meet him first without knowing that he’s the Author.”
Definitely seems like confirmation that the Author is male. Also, he’s totally going to be the Peddler, and we’ll meet him in the next episode.
Oh, totally. I called it the day Fischler was cast – he’s the Author.
I theorised this too when he was cast…but unfortunately it wasn’t here, it was on the other fanboard I used to be a part of.

ParticipantThat’s the second sneak peek. It’s a dream sequence.
Makes sense. Calling it now: the person Regina says, “what are you doing here” is actually herself as the Evil Queen, her worst fear that she’s falling back into her old ways
I agree with both. And I look forward to Regina having that kind of conversation with herself.

ParticipantI said this last week on the thread about favorite and least favorite moments of ep 14, but I will say it again here, with a minor adjustment regarding the difficulty of ripping out hearts and her speed of learning, and some extra detail:
I think that the timeline goes something like this.
1) Regina marries Leopold and starts her tuition with Rumple.
2) Regina fails to resurrect Daniel.
3) Regina loses interest in magic. Regina runs out of the tavern.
4) Regina starts again by ripping that gypsy girls heart out. (At first I thought it was more advanced than fireballs, but because it seems to be one of the the first things Rumple taught her, it mustn’t be…also from this stage onwards, I think she was able to perform things one-off but not consistently and in succession).
Regina dons a black dress as a one off for extra emphasis that she is serious about learning magic again.
(This means there is a gap of several weeks or months between the resurrection attempt and Regina ripping that girl’s heart out).
5) Snow becomes a teenager (not an adult). Regina is pretty far gone because this the first time we saw Regina *actually mention revenge, not just her disgust with Snow*. Regina still dresses in her riding gear most of the time because it is more comfortable to wear in the forest, and perhaps disguises her a bit too. We can also see from her facial expressions and the way she smiles that she is further into the darkside than when she banished Tinkerbell. Regina meets Mal.
Her not being sure of Rumple’s tutelege might put ep 14 after she ran out of the tavern, and before she took up lessons with Rumple again. *However, perhaps she wavered twice, because she was not progressing as fast as she thought she would after giving Rumple another chance*.
6) Regina chases Snow out of the castle. The villagers hear about Snow’s story and grow to hate Regina. Regina wants to go undercover as a peasant and *asks Rumple to help disguise her* because Regina can’t even change her hair color at this point, which appeared to be an advanced spell, but after 8 years of lessons this is nonetheless too slow.
I guess Regina was a slow learner and then just after the episode when is disguised as peasant, she embraced the ”evil queen” label fully and then her magic, (driven by her emotions behind embracing her new role) all came together for her. It could be argued that the day she crushed that gypsy girl’s heart was the day she went over to the dark side, but perhaps she really needed to embrace this darkness completely before her ability leapt to the level of a master.
Originally, I was also surprised that Regina was so bad at magic at this point in time, but thinking back to when Rumple had to help her disguise herself as a peasant, it now all fits.
As a side note, on a different fanboard about 18 months ago I put forward that maybe Regina was a slow learner of dark magic because it was not her original nature…that she would have been better at light magic instead.

ParticipantThose would probably be interns. Kalinda Vazquez tweeted not too long ago how they have an “assistant” keep track of the continuity and timeline. If that’s the case, perhaps they clearly need someone more suited for the task
As Daniel and I have said many time on the podcast already, ABC…call me. We’ll do lunch.
You and many fans of this show would be up to the task 😉

ParticipantOnceaholic as a film noir detective and Regina as the desperate client.
Why does this feel appropriate?

ParticipantChances are we are seeing the same path, gazebo, cliff face etc for budgetting reasons.
However, I am open to the idea that it is the same place but different dimensions…different versions of the same place.

ParticipantAfter reading recent spoilers, I think Regina’s idea of a happy ending will change by the end of this season. Her happy ending to start was to have Robin back, but obviously judging on the finale stuff; that changes. Heroes becomes villains and villains become heroes, it looks like. Not sure if that’s Regina’s doing or Rumple’s. But it wouldn’t surprise me if Regina is still unsatisfied with just having Robin back that she feels the need to further pursue forcing the the author to change her happy ending. I cringe every time Lana says that Regina’s going to force the author re-write her happy ending. I’m like, you realize, forcing someone is a bad thing right?
I think Lana realises this. She is probably just using the words from the script in her interviews. It is the script that gives her insight into what her character is thinking and feeling and she has no other choice but to go with that.
also, she has to sell the show, she can’t really say too many bad things about it. If you read her interviews, they are all very similar, and most of them are very careful.

ParticipantI was going to start a new topic/thread with this but I can’t find a button to start one.
What if there is a power struggle between the author and the sorcerer?
What if the sorcerer is sabotaging the author’s work, changing the stories for his/her own purposes?

ParticipantNot surprising. She is not a regular, only a reoccurring. But yes, it does mean HEE with her daughter.
Once introduced me to this actress and I am impressed with her performance, so I think I will keep my ear to the ground for this show.

ParticipantWhen I first saw Will cradling the picture of Ana, I too assumed that he was also looking for the author and/or the sorcerer.
I really hope that he is not tricking Belle. I really want he and Belle to work. Or at least, for Rumpbelle to fail…unless Rumple makes some huge sacrifice that proves to Belle that he does love her more than he loves power.
