ParticipantWhat? Like Snow was actually pregnant with two babies but they had to sacrifice one to save the other, by using one twin as a bargain for the magical tree stump…? Could it be lily? Twins separated at birth <– have we had this yet?
You know, I was wondering if Emma had a twin.
But the thing is, in the pilot we saw Emma’s birth and her being put in the wardrobe happen very quickly within a few minutes. I guess that if they are twins, that Lily is the older one. The is the only way that scene can be retconned.

Participant-Unless Rumple has hacking skills, it is impossible for him to pose an Oxford University professor. Staff at universities always use their university email address which shows clearly where they work (for example, [email protected]). There is no way Rumple could have faked this kind of email address to convince Belle that he was an OU professor, seeing as we have never explicitly seen him with this kind of computer skills.
I don’t know why a Professor at Oxford being able to read a magical language about hats and darkness didn’t raise ALL THE FLAGS for Belle. I mean, of course that’s Rumple. It makes no sense for someone from our world to be able to translate a language from another world that quickly.
Yup, this as well.
It wasn’t made clear, but I had assumed that although the incantation itself was not from our world, that it was written in a language from our world, placed there by Rumple. I know I am reaching, but I think it is a fairly reasonable assumption.
I also found it strange that Belle did not run a background search on the email address and the ”professor” via google. I know that they have been stuck in SB for ages, but they still have access to the internet, right? Maybe the characters are still learning about how our world works outside of SB and therefore what they can and can’t do on the internet, (or what they can or can’t search for on the internet).
This is the sort of thing that should be made clear on the show. If they just had one arc for 22 episodes, there would be time to explain things properly instead of creating situations that look like plotholes.

ParticipantUrsula is one of the most powerful magic beings in Disney cannon, and they have reduced her to a girl who grabs things with her tentacles. I really hope they have her do some spell casting and quick, because its just disrespectful to the character. She was referred to as a god last season, and now she barely has any magic at all.
I know what you mean. I am disappointed too. I can only assume that she had most of her powers stripped away from her, before she even arrived in our world….I hope they give some kind of explanation as to why she is no longer a goddess but a tentacled freak with no other skills or talents.

ParticipantAnother thing…
If the author is a god-like figure, then surely he must control who the Sorcerer is and what he does????

ParticipantNitpick: Why did Cruella know that Maleficent was “dead”? She was still very much alive right up until when the Curse was cast, and only “died” after getting to SB, and Cruella has had no knowledge of things that happened in SB
Good catch.

ParticipantWriting this without looking at other’s comments.
FAVOURITE MOMENTS
-Rumple and computers haha
-All scenes with Cruella De Vil. I don’t like the idea of the character being on the show, but the actress is a delight to watch.
-Seeing everyone go about their daily routines, trouble-free.
-Smooth story-telling overall.
LEAST FAVOURITE MOMENTS
-Wasted opportunity 1: Hook didn’t apologise to Belle while they were having a heart to heart in the library.
-Wasted opportunity 2: Chernabog was puny and not very intelligent in both SB and Mist Haven. He also seemed to be just a cameo monster. It would have been more interesting to have him as the ultimate evil.
The perspective of him on the clock tower vs flying about near Emma and Regina was terrible (source: an Art Director…my husband! And you don’t need to be a professional designer to notice, it was that bad).
-Ursula/the actress does not have enough screen presence/charisma.
-Regina burning MM’s bird picture in the office. That was MM’s property, and a painting she was proud of. Couldn’t she just have handed it back to her, politely and respectfully?
-What a lot of effort to get that incantation translated, only for Regina to silently wave the dagger about over the hat box. So confused.
PLOT HOLE:
-Unless Rumple has hacking skills, it is impossible for him to pose an Oxford University professor. Staff at universities always use their university email address which shows clearly where they work (for example, [email protected]). There is no way Rumple could have faked this kind of email address to convince Belle that he was an OU professor, seeing as we have never explicitly seen him with this kind of computer skills.
OVERALL GRADE.
If I hadn’t watched seasons 1-4a, or Fantasia I would have given this a 9/10, due to the smooth story-telling. (a point would have been lost on CGI). But because I have watched both, and because of my knowledge of UK universities, I felt disappointed over wasted opportunities and plot hole:
6/10.

ParticipantIt’d be nice if he wasn’t really gone for good, but honestly it felt to me like they just wanted him for a cameo because FANTASIA ALL THE THINGS, and then they poofed him away when they were done, so I’m not gonna get my hopes up. I guess we might see him again in flashback if they think it’s important to show how he ended up in the Hat.
Yes, I think it was a cameo, too. What a waste.

ParticipantGeneral note… (NOT a mod order but just something to take into consideration) I understand the desire to talk about stuff that seems out of the ordinary for the actors and actresses–like changing body types. I noticed it as well and admit to be curious. BUT let’s all remember that true, not true, ect, it’s Lana’s personal life and we shouldn’t delve too deeply or try to figure out if something has changed until Lana confirms/denies anything. There was a lot of negative reaction on this board last year when it was Ginny because people thought it was intrusive. So, let’s please bear that in mind.
I mentioned the bulge to imply that we shouldn’t gossip.
But I get your point. I was making the gossip worse. I will stop now.

ParticipantThanks for the share
I suspect that Lana will be hosting that ABC robot reality series that will air in the summer.
I am very curious to see what her company goals are. Maybe it’s got something to do with the LGBT community, or maybe she wants to direct some independent films.
I am sad to hear that she doesn’t have anything lined up for after Once. She is great character actress and very flexible, and deserves more roles, if not in movies, then on TV.

ParticipantThey’ve managed to break my OutlawQueen Heart in that third sneak peek, but I’m finding it hard to believe that Regina just turned around to go pick up the page pieces, and taped it back together!
If it was not Henry or Regina herself, then perhaps Will Scarlett taped it back together.
He was at the timeline when RH and Regina said goodbye, and perhaps he doesn’t want Regina to throw away one of her only images of Robin Hood, because of him losing Anastasia. Also, maybe he has some insider knowledge that tearing up a page and not replacing them with an identical copy can have an effect on the future
Oh and Regina and Emma’s tentative friendship….squweeeeeeeeeeeee!
