1) Yey for Regina’s pirate(?) costume. I have a new fav!
2) Really hoping that Tiana is Hook 2’s new love interest rather than Regina

onceaholicParticipantI think 702 will at least be steady, or even grow to a 8.0 due to this being JMo’s final episode, at least as far as we currently know. How they handle her exit will play a role in how the rest of the Season plays out.
You mean 0.8?

LIKES
-Colin’s acting for Fat!Hook. Made me laugh
-Regina deciding to stay in the new version of FTL…can’t wait to see her adventures, which might involve being a pirate or dressing up to pass as the Evil Queen.
-I am okay with the Hook in Hyperion Heights being Wish Realm/Ex-Fat! Hook. I think the writers were left with very little choice seeing as JMo left the show.
DISLIKES
-Can’t feel any chemistry between adult Henry and Cinderella (present day)
-That message-in-a-bottle would have been useful in past adventures perhaps.
-The sequencing editing in the last 1o seconds after they said to cheers to their new plan, showing each of their facial expressions as they took a drink. Very amateur, cheesy and unnecessary.
-Lots of mumbling from most of the cast members. Had to re watch several scenes to follow what they were saying
-Still can’t understand Cinderella’s accent. Maybe because I live in East Asia so I haven’t heard it regularly for 15 years.
-Still unsure of who the main hero is. I guess it could be Henry if he is only responsible for being the author of Emma and Regina’s version of events, freeing him to influence events in other realms and stories.
-Still unsure of what the main villain’s motivations are for casting the curse.
-So confused about how time works LWM vs this new realm. Regina, Original Hook and Emma, and Henry now all look the same age, no one is surprised by this and Emma is able to get pregnant. The average age for menopause is 48-52. Henry looks 30-35 putting Emma in the age-range for menopause.
Fat!Hook’s daughter is Alice????

onceaholicParticipantI wish there was a more noticeable difference between Original EF and New EF; fairy tales change because of cultural factors not just on a whim. Cinderella’s slipper is wood or glass depending on the people in the regions telling her story. So, this EF needs to have some sort of marked difference because Cinderella’s big difference just being “Latina!” is a bit…iffy. If Henry’s wife and child died in a fire then what does Henry believe about his mother, father, and other members of his family?
all of this. but no doubt they will not explore Henry’s psyche regarding his parents, grandparents etc.

It just has to start,” insisted Lucy, the spokes-girl for writers Adam and Eddy. ”Please forgive past and future plot holes/continuity errors and give our reboot a chance,” she might as well have said.
This episode was like watching a person desperately trying to pull themselves out of a deep hole in a muddy swamp, repeatedly losing the will to keep trying after each effort to extract themselves from the mud. Roni, Alice and adult Henry are all the show has to cling on to, but even they are not enough to save the show perhaps. The new Cinderella and step-mother just felt weak…tacky even, and I am just not interested in their story. And yes, we have a new big bad and a new curse with everyone feeling hopeless or feeling like something or somebody is missing, but the sense of urgency didn’t feel strong enough for me, not enough to convince me that the main characters collectively have a new overall goal.
However, the more Lana Parrilla I have on my screen, the better and I look forward to seeing her in the next episode.
Current theories:
Roni will hire Lucy’s mom as a barmaid, and then later give her a bar management position after the curse is broken.
I am not sure who the hero of season 7 is supposed to be. In season 1’s pilot, it was clear that it was Emma, but as the writer, Henry is not allowed to influence the stories, and therefore cannot act as their hero. Meanwhile Cinderella’s actress is too weak and does not have JP’s charisma. Any theories? This curse does not seem to have a ”saviour” built into it, so could be simply Henry and Cinderella waking up and breaking the curse via TLK, and thereby giving Henry his own story. I really hope it is not this because that would be rather boring and predictable.

onceaholicParticipantFirst 1 min 20 sec ish. Henry and Roni chatting at the bar.
I don’t know how to embed youtube videos so here is the link:

Also, at about 30 min 15 sec in, Lana lets slip that there are a lot of Easter eggs in the set of Roni’s bar, so look closely 🙂
The stained glass window (on sneak peak 2) says 701, I think, and I hope it means more than just the episode number :).

Keeper of Regina's bravery
onceaholicParticipantsorry but I don’t know where else to write this. Maybe I should start a new thread?
Anyway, anybody want to hazard a guess as to who Regina’s/Roni’s next love interest will be?
I’m guessing Tramp from Lady and the Tramp. He might even be able to turn himself into a dog haha.
Keeper of Regina's bravery
onceaholicParticipantMy interpretation of Regina is similar to that of Zelena (see the thread about Zelena’s character study): Borderline Personality Disorder.
The most extreme borderlines can become murderous, but unlike psychopaths, if their BPD comes from an abusive background (i.e. it is not their original, genetic temperament), they can improve and be better people (or the person they were originally meant to be), more secure, love themselves and others, and be one of the nicest people you have ever met. Basically, they can recover and become ”normal” people. The people who develop BPD are sensitive and feel deeply, and this also why this fits Regina to a T.
Overall, to me she is the best written character not only because of development, but because the writers wrote her the most consistently….in keeping with BPD, it’s symptoms, what it takes to recover, the backsliding along the way, and the fact that you can recover from it. Not only this but it the only time I have seen BPD represented so well on television (though BPD may not have been the writers’ original intention).

onceaholicParticipantThe book seems to be about a world were all possibilities happen at the same time somehow. I haven’t read it, just a little blurb.
Even though my first thought was a Wonderland Maze like others, I would prefer to see this 😉
