Hi all! This is my first time posting on this thread! I love Rumbelle and it’s really cool to read everyone’s thoughts on this amazing couple! I am really looking forward to seeing the”real Belle” next week! I was really upset when she agreed to stay in Storybrooke, but that’s another story. Anyway, I can’t wait to see what Belle has been up to and I agree about the dates! I want to see Rumbelle dates that aren’t interrupted by Regina or Belle being shot or *shudder* Lacey *shudder* or the potential destruction of Storybrooke or…well, you get the picture.
[adrotate group="5"]oncemusicfanParticipant@rumplegoldfan- I completely agree with your overall point!!! Although I don’t think Neal is a loser. He’s just a guy who has made some poor life choices like many of the other characters on the show. And he’s someone that I would really prefer NOT to be involved with Emma romantically.
Everyone has some interesting things to say about the whole “Emma should be with Neal because they have a kid” thing. I’m sure I’m just going to echo what most of you have been saying, but my take on it is…Why force Emma back into a relationship that she clearly wants to move on from? There’s no marriage she and Neal are trying to salvage (they hadn’t even seen in other in over a DECADE). Just an old relationship that left Emma very emotionally damaged. We’re still seeing her try to heal and recover from that! I totally believe in forgiveness, but how does that equate to letting Neal be in Emma’s life romantically again?? Neal can be a great father to Henry and co-parent with Emma. Neal and Emma can have an AMAZING relationship…as friends. Just my opinion. We’ll see what the writers decide to do though. Honestly, you never know!
oncemusicfanParticipant@ Sarah_TN- I totally agree with you about Neal in regards to Tamara. I think I’ve said something similar. It definitely bothers me that he is able to “switch gears” so quickly after being in love with someone else. Someone else he was ENGAGED to, nonetheless.
@ Captain Eala- The video was really beautiful! I LOVE Captain Swan fanvids!
My overall thought of the episode in reagards to Captain Swan is that it was really HEARTBREAKING! I loved seeing Killian admit his secret in the echo caves, but I wanted more of a reaction from Emma. I guess it’s a little too soon to ask for that, considering Neal is alive and they are still resolving their issues. Still, it’s frustrating to me that Emma wants to move on from her past relationship with Neal, but he basically vowed to never let her. I was rolling my eyes during the “I’ll never stop fighting for you” scene. It’s romantic when Belle says it about Rumple because they are True Loves. But when Neal says it to Emma…it’s just irritating.
On a side note, during Snow’s scene where she is revealing her secret and talking about how proud she is of Emma, did anyone notice the way Hook looks at Emma? It’s LOVE! Seriously, if you did not notice that, watch it again! FEELS!
oncemusicfanParticipantI’m still figuring out the “quote” system here. Sorry. I meant to quote Captain Eala and then write my thoughts. Hopefully, I’ll get better at this.
oncemusicfanParticipant@ Captain Eala- I agree that the writers should address how Neal feels about Tamara’s betrayal. Let’s be honest, the SAME DAY that Neal was defending Tamara and still very much planning to marry her was the day that he told Emma he loved her. Granted, it was after Tamara shot him, but why haven’t we seen him mourn the loss of that relationship? He was so quick to confess his love to Emma after Tamara shot him, that I wonder if he ever truly loved either of those women. Do you think he is just so in love with the idea of having a family, the one thing he never truly had growing up, that he is willing to slide any woman into the girlfriend/wife role? He might care about Emma and definitely cared about Tamara, but was it “true love” for either of them, or was it Neal’s desperate attempt at having some type of family? I understand that most people desire to have a family and true love, and that is perfectly normal and wonderful. However, I would want to be loved more for who I am and not JUST because someone wants a family they never got to have. Just my opinion.
oncemusicfanParticipantNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. This is not what I want for her. I want her to make the choice. Maybe that’s just me?? I’ve seen this thought floating around before and i really dislike it. Now, AFTER she makes the choice i’d be happy for a curse to be broken via TLK, because we know who’ll break it hehe. But not before she chooses.
but if only one of them can break it doesn’t that kind of say that she is choosing to love one over the other? For the kiss to work the feeling has to be mutual right? That’s why I like it because both Neal and Hook care about Emma but for the kiss to work only the one she loves can save her.
@ Stelio Kontos-I think so too! I would like to see the man Emma truly loves save her. Then there would be no question about who her true love really is. (We all know it’s HOOK, but there would definitely be no more questioning it after that.)
oncemusicfanParticipantI agree with everyone about that adorable picture! Colin just seems like the nicest guy! So I guess we’ll be seeing Hook in Storybrooke!!! That behind-the-scenes picture looks like Hook is possibly assisting Emma with some important sheriff-y stuff. This is why I don’t think they’re holding hands…as much as I would LOVE that! Emma seems to be very professional when she’s doing her job. I feel like when her red jacket is on she’s all business. So if they are officially a couple by this point (*fingers crossed*), I doubt she’d allow any public displays of affection on the job. I really hope I’m wrong about that though. I wonder if Hook might help Emma at the station, since she’s basically the only person who works there. He doesn’t strike me as the 9-5 type, but I bet he’ll want to spend as much time with Emma as he can. I really can’t wait to see what happens with them!
oncemusicfanParticipantHi fellow shippers! I haven’t written in the forums for a while, but I have been checking out this thread and there are always some great points you all make! I shipped Swanfire most of last season, but the season 2 finale really got me thinking about Hook in a new way. I saw the capacity he has to really care for someone (he was willing to give up everything for Bae) and that he was more than just a flirty pirate. Underneath that flirtatious exterior is a true heart that loves deeply.
After season 2 ended, I started to think that he could be a true contender for Emma’s heart. I’m not against Neal. (I think he’s a good character….although I do agree with a lot of that essay about Neal being a plot device. It would be nice if we could connect with that character a bit more. MRJ’s acting is fantastic! So, it’s definitely just the storyline.) However, past mistakes aside, I don’t think Neal challenges Emma quite like Hook does. Hook and Emma both challenge each other and as Hook said in “Tallahassee” he LOVES a challenge! You have to admit that Emma and Hook have amazing chemistry together! The last episode (“Good Form”) definitely proved it!
One thing that makes me sad for Hook is that he has no one that loves him. Almost every “villain” on the show has at least one person who cares for them (with the exception of Peter Pan…so far). But Hook has lost everyone that ever cared about him. So, I’d like to see him have someone truly love him and help bring him back to the man he was before. I’d like to see him have a happy ending, and for him, I think that means having someone who loves him.
I know some people have mentioned potentially pairing Hook with Ariel. I just don’t see that at all! First, I’m pretty sure Ariel has her own prince and although we haven’t technically met her on the show yet, I think she would be a little too “sweet” for Hook. Don’t get me wrong, Ariel is great! (Apart from the fact that in the Disney movie she put her whole family and ocean friends in DANGER, which forced her Dad to sacrifice himself to save her. But it ended happily and the music was catchy, so all is forgotten!) I think Hook prefers women with a little bit more of an edge. I think Emma has that edge, and when her walls are down, she also has the ability to love deeply.
Thinking back to when Cora tried to rip Emma’s heart out and told her that love is weakness, Emma replied that love is strength. Thus proving just how much Emma can love and just how powerful it is. I think Hook and Emma are a great match, but who knows where the writers will go! I hope they end up together eventually. Guess we’ll have to wait and see.
