I agree that it cannot be a coincidence. I am just hoping that there is some other way that it happened then Rumpel which has gotten old for me.
Well, think of it as part of his long con. In “The Return” the convo he had with Regina, when she pointed out it was his curse that brought them there she asked why he would even want to be there (or something to that effect) and he said she was smart, she should figure it out. So he’s got some plan doesn’t he? Could it be that all of this is because he wants to reunite with his son? In a place where they could both be happy?
In FTL he asked Snow (desperately I might add) the name of their unborn child. I think he had to know it because he knew he needed to know that girl in our world. It was part of the plan. There are more facets to that plan too that make it REALLY interesting, like why he wanted to bottle true love. When talking about true love Rumple said something to the effect of “once you can bottle that then you can do ANYTHING” I think that was part of his plan…
Am I getting too off topic here???
oncewaslostParticipantThanks for the tip!
oncewaslostParticipantMy appologies. I didn’t mean to repeat info in my post…Hadn’t seen page 2 😳
I have no doubt that Gold had his memories before Emma came. Afterall- he is the one who procured Henry for Regina 10 years ago. That’s no coincidence!
oncewaslostParticipanthahahahaha- total Newbie mistake. Additional pages are listed at the top and I never saw the second page. I shall shrink back now in shame 😳
oncewaslostParticipantHmmmm, OK. I posted in this thread and I don’t see it.
https://oncepodcast.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=36&t=675Do you see it by chance?
oncewaslostParticipantHow did Mr. Gold Find Emma/ know she was having a child in order to bring that child to Regina to adopt? Did he have any part in the relationship between Henry’s father? (maybe that’s just a HOT question not a burning one)
Who found baby Emma near the freeway?
Why/ How are parts of FTL in Storybrooke; piece of Snow White’s Coffin, numerous items Mr. Gold has from TLF in his shop, True Love ring?
Why did Rumple want Cinderella’s baby?
I’m sure I’ll think of more…Questions was a great thread back in the day 😀
oncewaslostParticipantAre posts moderated? I’m not seeing my messages in threads I’ve posted except here 😕
oncewaslostParticipantLast night is when I decided that the statement that this world has not magic isn’t entirely true. Or at least to be taken at face value.
In “Mad Hatter” Jefferson wants Emma to make him a hat because he says she has magic. He also says that “some worlds have magic, others don’t. Some NEED magic and that’s where YOU come in”
So he knows that Emma has magic. Magic can come to other worlds even though it isn’t inherently there. She does afterall make a hat that seems to have been magical does she not?
Now here’s the thing. At the time Bae took the bean express to our world, he understood our world had no magic. He didn’t know of the long con his Papa Rumple would contrive. Rumple helped bring magic to Storybrook. Perhaps he wasn’t directly responsible for the magic tree and baby Emma going through it, but he certainly knew she would end up here in the real world. The whole conversation with Charming and Snow while he’s in his prison (Pilot) indicates that much. Mr. Gold was the one responsible for bringing Emma’s baby, Henry for Regina to adopt (unbeknownst to her). Getting to my point here…
Mr. Gold only buried the knife after Emma came to town. Why? He knew that she had magic. She can make it work like she made the hat work. Bae wouldn’t have know that but August should have, shouldn’t he? That Emma has magic but that magic doesn’t exist in the world overall? So why try to control the dark one? Another con?

Maybe it’s the apple Emma was going to eat but Henry threw away into the street in one of the first episodes.
Regina does make a point of mentioning it being one of the hardiest (heartiest) trees. When he throws it is seems like you’re supposed to remember. I think that’s an EXCELLENT point sjm.
