ParticipantThese aren’t parallels. They’re recycled story lines. I fear maybe the writers are either out of ideas, or that they’ve lost feeling, and thus ambition for the show. Either way, I absolutely see how they can do a 360 and really make it shine. I realize how they want people to concentrate on a core few, among their characters. The only one they should center on so strongly in each episode, is Emma. Otherwise, they’ve got to get out of the box they’re in. It’s hurting them to be in there.

Like I said many times – it’s a shame that the writers would have to compromise a good story telling for keeping a character they might no longer need.
Oh, they need him alright. He brought their ratings back up this season. Clearly, he’s well liked. I like the philosophy: “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”. If they listen to their fans, he’ll stay. Then, they may have a better chance of winning at least, one people’s choice award for season 3. Otherwise, if mediocrity is what they’re aiming for, they’ll hit it every time.

Last minute thought – in which episode is Rumple actually going to look for Bae? It could be his connection to being Sherlock Holmes, solving his son’s case 😉
It’s #14, Manhattan

ParticipantYou know, wouldn’t it be an interesting twist if:
K&H said that Hook finds an ally in Storybrooke. What if it's Neal? If Neal ends up with Emma, I think it's possible he could end up with Regina….who is trying to repent. What if Neal and Hook end up being allies? I'd love to see that!

ParticipantMy guess is that given the spoilers (“Dr. Whale”…”Hook’s wounds”….), that Hook may be more than hit by a car. He may be shot by the same bullet from the gun he was holding, if Rumple sends it back at him.

ParticipantThank you. Given the robe, my guess is that background stories will tell that Rumple is the reason why Ruby becomes a wolf, and needs the robe to prevent that; that the robe is somehow a “means of grace” in some respect. If I am right, and this is how all of this ties together, I’d say that Ruby has a very large role to play in being an (at least, intended) vehicle for justice. This might explain her presence in pictures taken (at vancityfilming) published from the filming of “Tiny”.

ParticipantA magnifying glass has the purpose of making more visible, something that is small. I’m guessing this is in reference to “Tiny”. Otherwise, the magnifying glass may be used to help “study” something, so as to better understand something obscure to clear vision. As for the color red: It could be in reference to Red, or maybe not.
I looked up the significance of the color red. For the culture and time period of Once Upon A Time, I’m guessing it matches the Rennaisance period (midieval).
Reds – Renaissance
High social status, royalty, gentlemen, men of justice.
Worn by judges and similar persons (Scotland, the Holy Roman Empire, England’s Court of Common Pleas, occasionally by peers in English Parliament); royal magistrates, king’s chancellor (France); high government posts (Venice and Florence).
Cosmopolitan man with access to international trading centers.
Power and prestige.
In the Church, red was a symbol of authority, Pentecostal fire, the blood of Christ, martyrdom, crucifixion, Christian charity. Also, could symbolize the satanic and color of hellfire.
At the universities of Padua and Bologna, red was symbolic of medicine.Reds – Medieval
’A lover wears vermilion, like blood’ (later Middle Ages).
A sign of otherworldly power in European legends and folktales. Also, protection: red thread to ward off witches, red coral necklaces to guard against illness.
Sometimes the color of the Virgin Mary’s robes.
The color of kings, identified with kingly virtues of valor and success in war. Also, fire.
A rich man.All this together makes me believe that Rumpel in a red robe may symbolize him being somehow in a position of a “judge” in some capacity by which he studies events that occurred, and is responsible for carrying out (his own faulty version of) justice. As such, this might have something to do with the big fight coming with him, and Captain Hook. I’m guessing the episode is “Tiny”.
