ParticipantThis is not about his family tree. Neal was related to both Pan and Rumple and yet he remained a good man throughout his life. Henry never once has shown any interest in darkness. In fact he keeps those who are tempted, on the right path. Although… I guess witnessing time and time again how being good gets you nowhere but seperated by realms or dead, I suppose it’s logical for Henry to start giving up being a hero.

ParticipantOk so I’ve watched it and the actual scene of Henry using his father’s death to fool Rumple into thinking he genuinely wants to spend more time with him was appalling.
Also my fear has indeed come true. Snowing is now officially the comic relief. Which is just so so sad. Remember when they were a powerful couple? Remember how wonderful their love story was? The writers sure don’t.
Hook, yeah well, it’s good to know it’s not just me thinking the worst of him. It’s good to actually see on screen right there, that he hasn’t changed much at all. He would still crush Belle’s heart in an instant (add that to the list of things Emma will never find out about him). Very good to know it’s not all in my head.
What became very clear to me though is that Rumple’s motivations have become very unclear. To me anyway. Now that he lost his son, what are his motivations for doing anything? The flashbacks too, how can they have any meaning? Before, he always did everything to get to his son, but why did pastRumple want that hat so badly? How would that have helped him find Bae? So yeah… inconsistencies.

ParticipantI haven’t seen the episode yet, but tell me this is a joke. For the love of God. I never thought Henry would be capable of this. He is so not the manipulation type. I mean hello he is family, surely Rumple would tell him if he simply asked. Getting close to him only to find out information is just mean. He’ll give Rumple the impression that he’s truly interested in forming a bond with him only to disappoint him in the end. That is not the way Neal would have raised him (had he been given the chance to that is).

ParticipantLol, oh Hook you are so hilarious. Changed have we? Who’s blackmailing who again now? And uhm Emma… yeah… put your red leather coat back on dear.

ParticipantA less-than-normal snark review for anyone interested.
I like Will a lot, except that in some ways he came across as Neal 2.0, even down to the tumblers.
Yep that lock picking thing definitely had the vibe. If they really are going down the Neal 2.0 road with him, they are even stupider than I thought.

ParticipantI haven’t watched Wonderland, but I like this Will character already. Probably because to me he’s still untainted. Or actually, the actor seems untainted (by all the social media ship dramatics) which shows in his performance. So for his sake (and apparently his happily ever after on WL) I hope there is zero romance in his storyline. I’m quite curious to know why he’s in SB in the first place (plot-wise I mean).
Lol, just realised that Once has made me very anti-romance. I fear romance now. Romance and ships are evil and they lead to war and other drama that involves dead characters and actors getting crappy material to work with.

ParticipantIt appears they still have not learned a thing from past mistakes. They read negative feedback on the baby name and decide to put a stupid comment about it in the show, but they don’t read constructive criticism that says people would like to see the characters talk and bond more. I mean how is it possible to get it wrong yet again? I just don’t understand it, Surely they must’ve read the comments about that other Henry scene that got cut.
Within the scene itself though, it does feel incredibly odd to see grandfather and grandson talk without either of them mentioning Neal. It has an artificial feeling to it. It’s not natural progress of conversation to talk about Henry’s family, without also mentioning the good traits his father had.

ParticipantThe Charming comment was ridiculous. It felt more like a jab at the Nealfire fans than anything else.
It totally was. That was authorial interjection for the purpose of laughing at the backlash they got, and not just from Nealfire and SF fans.
Writing tip of the day: don’t let your editorial notes wander into the script.
Rumple’s scenes… There’s something not quite right with RC’s performance. I feel bad that it shows. I want him to do well, but you can just tell that even he has no clue what to make of it anymore. He doesn’t understand Rumple anymore. And I really don’t blame him.
yup! Like from SDCC when asked why Rumple killed Zelena and Bobby said, “I have no idea.”
It’s so painful to have to watch an extraordinary actor be so lost within his role.

ParticipantAlright so, I’ve just had a moment to myself to watch 4×01. It wasn’t horrendous, but THE feeling is gone y’know. I didn’t watch the whole thing, just bits and pieces. The Rumbelle dance for example, the music totally killed me. It briefly reminded me of how wonderful this show was and could’ve been.
As for another couple in that episode. Chemistry did you say? What chemistry? If they ever had any to begin with, it is now well and truly gone.
Not sure how I feel about the Regina thing. I almost wanna say that I find it boring. It’s the same old thing, just in a different light.

Elsa and Anna? Now that I’ve seen them I can say that yes I do find it too soon for them to be on Once. I never thought that would be the issue for me, but as I was watching them, I just felt there wasn’t enough distance from the animated characters yet. They haven’t properly been allowed to age, to exist, to become a nostalgic part of people’s lives yet. The actresses were good though and so far they aren’t ruined for me. But… I fear for the day they have to interact with the EF people (which is tomorrow).
Anyway, my two cents. Carry on with the goofiness. 😉
