I’m curious if CS fans think the show has gone downhill as much as we do
Of course not. As far as they are concerned everything is fine and dandy and those few plot holes, oh well we have our rose tinted glasses to overlook those. Which btw shows exactly what this show has become. A shipper fest. As long as CS and OQ will live happily ever after, whatever else happens won’t matter too much. Note how I didn’t include Rumbelle or Snowing. The actual TL couples (cause soul mates are all the rage these days didn’t you know).

That is exactly how it comes across to me. ABC tells them to promote CS to end-game status if they expect the show to stay on air because “that is what fans want.” Yet, when that backfires and doesn’t increase the ratings like ABC expected, then what? A&E are sort of left up the creek without a paddle.
Which is, when you think about it, kind of cruel. As for the rest of your post, those are my exact feelings too. I’ve always felt that A&E were/are most likely as happy about having to make CS happen as much as the rest of are. The writing was crappy because their hearts weren’t in it. SF was beautiful because that’s the story they were passionate about telling. I truly believe if ABC hadn’t stuck their nose where it didn’t belong, Once probably wouldn’t have gone down hill as much and as fast as it did. That is, not if they had let SF unfold the way it was supposed to.

Also, yay for it arriving in one piece! It it hadn’t I would have figured that the tiny shoes had laid waste to everything breakable (or “breekbaar” apparently). Them things be deadly (but fashionable!)!
Sorry! I did acknowledge it was misplaced optimism though, if that counts. Lol, breekbaar yes. Wooden shoes can be a hazard, hence the extreme precautions I took to make sure they didn’t go rogue. 😉

@Slurpeez, I know I know I know. I’m gonna get burned, but Will is sort of my last hope.
The Charming and Robin bromance thing with Hook is something fans really want to see and in this I know A&E will want to please the fans. I’m just praying, not even hoping anymore, but just praying that Will will be on the Belle and Regina side of things. No one is liked by EVERYONE. It’d be rather unrealistic, and from what everyone is telling me, ooc for Will to take any sort of liking to Hook (especially if he’s up to his old tricks again). But yeah I hear what you’re saying, Once and its creators aren’t too worried anymore about what’s realistic, logical and in character anymore.

As for the Will and Hook being testy spoiler thing, I actually think (or hope) that he will be the voice of the audience, in that he questions Hook’s past or general motives or current possible blackmailing issues. Maybe this’ll be one character that won’t roll over and be blindingly charmed into a ‘bromance’ with him just like that, she said with misplaced optimism.

Regardless of the who, how, when and where, I would really, really, love to know the why. What on earth is the show’s reason for undoing this generally minor detail that is specifically pretty major to the character of Captain Hook. If their reason is ‘so he can blend in better in SB’ then that is a very weak motivation. I mean I just don’t get. Yes okay duh two hands are better than one, but why now? Why would he still care? You’d think that after 3 centuries he’d have accepted the loss by now. Perhaps the answer is that he hasn’t. Still, I find this hand thing very out of the blue and somehow it feels out of place in the grand scheme of things.

Wow… I don’t even have any words anymore… I just… yeah. Wow. I think I am experiencing a meltdown of sorts or possibly a system shutdown. I had ALL the feelings portrayed in the above gifs and then sorta… nothing. Big black hole of nothingness. Doesn’t help that life is sucking beyond belief at the moment for me. I vaguely remember using this show as a way to escape that, but yeah, not anymore.
