HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! I actually, just now, laughed out loud, for real, at my screen, upon reading the words stable relationship. Hahaha! stable? with a fairy tale character from the Peter Pan books she used to read growing up? with a man who permanently walks around in pirate gear? Haha oh goodness, I needed a good laugh this morning. A little less laughable but still mildly amusing for their predictability were the words figuring out parenthood. I knew that that was coming. Rather hoped it wouldn’t, but you can bank on “funny” moments with Snow and Charming being reduced to a sleep deprived and (already?) brainless couple who for the life of them can’t figure out how to change a diaper or make the baby stop crying. You know, the usual baby antics EVERY single other show on the planet has ever used for comical effect. Cause that’s what Snowing is of course, the comic relief.

Fan ideas are so much more interesting than the Trolls come up with

It’s tragic how true that is. I’ve seen gaping plot holes be seamlessly filled and fitted right into canon. Explanations infinitely more compelling than what was shown. So lack of money or time or room for creativity has nothing to do with it. If the fans can do it, why not the creators?

They push back, alter, and ignore things that don’t fit into their current ideas instead of concentrating on cohesive, coherent plots.

Exactly. They’re scared. All the time. Scared that if they actually write something, set it in stone so to speak, they won’t be able to change it later if plot calls for it. This leads to loose ends all over the place. There’s nothing wrong with leaving some things to the viewers imagination, but honestly, the fans are doing all the work here. The fact that we even have to come up with headcanons at all, is ridiculous. We shouldn’t have to be creative ourselves. We should sit back and enjoy THEIR creativity.

I’ve seen it in interviews. When asked if we will ever find out about [fill in whatever] they often respond with: ‘maybe in the future’ or ‘we would love to explore that some day’. They’re always saving these moments, these details, just because they MIGHT need it to serve future plot. Henry’s book for example. They could’ve come up with an explanantion for it AGES ago, but no they waited and waited and waited. Because heaven forbid the origins of the book from season 1 should not coincide with the reasons they need it to be there in season 3. Then you’d actually have to think of something else for your original idea to work. *gasp* Did I just suggest creative brainstorming to stay within the boundaries of what is already written? The horror!

They keep waiting to write the details, for a rainy day or something, but pretty soon they won’t have any seasons left to write. The time is now.

What do you think Hook would’ve done if he’d revealed that he’d given up the JR, and instead of Emma giving the reaction she did, she was all “That’s nice of you, thanks for that, I’d better get back inside the diner with my family. Bye!”?

He would have kept after her because that’s what he does.

Exactly, when has Emma saying no to Hook ever stopped him from pursuing her anyway?

Yes I was just about to say, I almost puked a little. Was not prepared. Possibly in the future you could warn me with flashing lights and loud noises before you post such a thing. My fault though really. I should stop checking that thread.

I wonder if A&E have actually thought out who he traded the ship to or if its something that will never be addressed.

A&E thinking about details? Never! LOL Knowing the show’s track record, we will most likely not find out what happened, if it’s not important to the plot that is. If we do find out it’ll be through dialogue. The who, how, what, when and where of important events are almost always dismissed or “shown” off screen. It’s the events that matter, not the specifics of it. Or so the creators seem to think.

What baffles me even further is that they KNOW that this is what the audience wants to see after losing Neal. Just a moment between Emma and her son, Neal’s son. Dealing with the loss. It’s beautiful. Emma telling Henry about the swan pendant. This kind of thing just… this is why I keep watching hoping against hope that one day they will show me this. THIS. A true honest character moment. Aknowledgement. Anything at all that shows me they still know what a good show is made of. I mean I have zero ideas on which kind of thought process would lead to cutting this scene. I. Just. Don’t. Get it. *sits here stunned into submission some more*

Regarding the deleted scenes, now we know where all those ‘talking moments’ we always wish there were more of keep ending up. Discarded and dismissed on the cutting room floor.

It’s disappointing there is no tribute of any kind. While I hadn’t expected it to be there anyway, it still would’ve been a nice surprise if they had included it.

At least Robert Caryle had the balls to come out and voice his disappointment and displeasure over Neal’s Death and losing Michael Raymond-Raymond James on the show during his and Emile’s interview during the SDCC 2014. Which is a lot more then I can say for some other members of the cast.

Exactly. This is the first time since episode 3×15 that anything concrete has been said regarding Neal’s death. The first time someone has expressed their feelings about it and the first time it’s been addressed on a more personal level (don’t think for a second that I’m counting the ‘we will see him in flashbacks’ comments). And as it stands, Bobby is the only one who has had the nerve to actually voice his opinion on the matter and you can tell he’s still holding back. I have no doubt there are a whole lot of other things he has to say about it, but he’s keeping things civil, staying professional.

And to be real honest here, that’s all I ever wanted. For someone, anyone at all, to acknowledge it.

So I don’t really care what they say it’s more that they clearly don’t have a solid unifying answer for themselves or their own show. If they gave me one answer then I would be free to judge their answer within the confines of the show and make my own conclusions. But they don’t do that. THAT is the issue. They’re flying by the seat of their pants from arc to arc, and it’s more than just TL and SM it’s ALL OF THE THINGS. This is just another example of “give an answer that will appease the most people possible and then cover our butts when we need to change”

I came into this thread planning on posting this ^ but RG already did it for me, so thank you.

For me, it’s becoming less about the TL/SM thing, and more about feeling that the show’s creators have no idea what they are doing. One doesn’t feel that one is watching a well structured piece of fiction.

I am mystified time and time again that these two do not have a solid idea beyond ‘I want Elsa on my show!’ ‘Wouldn’t it be cool if the Wicked Witch showed up and did this and this and this!’ A good tv series pays attention to the details, the foundation and the rules of its own universe. It’s the ‘we’ll see when we get there’ attitude that bothers me most about all of this. The very fact that they managed to be surprised to be asked about true loves and soul mates shows how invested they are in paying attention to the details.

True Love will love each other to death….Soul Mate will love each other till the end of time….

Lol, so Robin will be loving Marian until she dies again and Hook and Milah were soul mates because he kept on loving her 300 years after she died. Which in an average 80 y/o life could be viewed as an eternity.

My point is, everyone can have their definitions and through those definitions they can draw pretty much any conclusion they want in their own favour (or spin it to someone else’s disadvantage). Which is likely what people will be doing no matter what A&E say.
