But because Emma and Neal were never “officially” declared anything other than former lovers, except by Belle which got walked back by Adam, then it makes it seem like SF was never anything more than just a quick love fling that doesn’t amount to anything next to Emma’s current relationship.
Which brings us back to my original question. Would it kill them to take a stand already and just say Emma and Neal were true love? It’s just spineless to hide behind empty words and retcons just so you won’t “upset” other shippers with this information. It’s your freaking show for crying out loud. You make the rules, you say what goes, yet you say nothing at all. No wonder fans are creating their own truths in their minds. Because A&E will never confirm, or deny for that matter, anything you can come up with. So basically it’s ALL true. Hook is Emma’s soul mate and true love and so was Neal and so is Henry. Why? BECAUSE THE FANS SAY SO OF COURSE! And we all know, the fans write the show, right?
Maybe I’m just becoming an emotional sap right now, but this honestly makes me sad. Really really sad. RC is so incredible, such a gem among actors and what do they give him? Nothing. He’s a very private person, so this is actually the first time I’ve seen him “talk” about recent events regarding Once in general and Rumbelle in particular. And it is painfully obvious he’s in the dark and confused about where the show is going and where it is now. It’s embarrassing to have to tell an interviewer that you have no idea why your character did what he did. Actors always know their characters motivations. RC did his very best to come up with a plausibel explanation (for another question I think) by saying Rumple’s an addict to magic and all that stuff, but the thing is, A&E are forcing him to come up with a story that he can’t even be sure of being correct. RC has become co-creator of the show, of Rumple’s story. He’s making it up, because A&E won’t. They’re too busy with Frozen (and shiny new couples) to care about Rumple and his ooc-ness.
And then that exchange between him and Emilie. Really, if I can see exactly what they are saying here (even though they’re not saying anything at all) why can’t A&E? Why do they not discuss these sorts of things? Why do they not listen to (and respect) the input of their actors? Don’t you think they would know their characters best by now? I suspect when the SM/TL question was asked, A&E thought to themselves: hey… but, wait… that’s not a Frozen question… is it???

Maybe in their heads they are actually wishing low ratings so that they can be cancel and they can be free from all this, really the actions speak louder than the words.
Lol, I doubt they’d wish to be out of a job, but I do think they wish they didn’t have to go to these comic-cons (or other similar events) anymore.

About TL and SM, thing found this on tumblr, EDR and RC reactions when they were giving the answer, but like i said i didnt saw the video or have any interested in seing it, but even the actors think this is so stupid.
Hm, wow… that is, quite telling. Body language. Says it all. If you look at stills of some of the vids you can see it with the other cast members aswell. Not open at all, very closed, reserved and uncomfortable. It’s actually quite interesting. We get more answers from their behaviour than from their words.

Ok one comment from me on this TL/SM thing and then I’m gonna shut up and ignore everything the show has to say about it. Would it kill them? Would it just kill them to straight out say Emma and Neal were true love (or Robin and Marian for that matter)? I mean really? What on earth is the big deal in admitting that? Forgetting my dislike for CS for a sec (just a sec) does that all of a sudden mean your CS couple falls apart or something? No they’ll still… love, eachother, they would still be a couple, just not a true love couple (same as Regina and Robin). Is that really such an awful thing? Or is their need for a TL couples only series finale so immense that they will do and say anything to get it?
ETA: And btw, if everyone only gets 1 true love then don’t Regina and Emma already have theirs anyway? Henry. Remember how he broke 2 curses with each of them? Does that mean that neither Daniel nor Neal were ever TL? Or are there suddenly 2 types of TL now? Romantic TL and platonic TL? No wonder A&E don’t know how to answer these sorts of questions anymore, it’s a tangled mess of definitions. They’ve created like, 20 different kinds of love.

And I think that what upset some of us Neal fans the most, that they may only mention Neal to sully his name or solidify that he is dead because dead is dead while at the same time they are bringing someone else back from the dead.
Ugh if they even dare to bring back anyone, ANYONE, from the dead NOW. I’m gonna throw a fit and then tear someone a new one. The only way their so-called newfound rule of dead is dead might hold any water in the future, is if they keep the next person who dies, actually dead. Or rather, don’t have anymore fake deaths (because the next death will most likely be Maid Marian and the audience isn’t invested in her enough to really be bothered if she was gone). So don’t have any more characters fake die please. I found it incredibly astounding that not even 2 seconds after Neal died, Charming died and then was brought BACK. Really?? Dead is dead was it?
As someone who lost their father, I find it beyond offensive that they are denying this child a chance to properly grieve and mourn. Instead it will be PLOT! MAGIC! MYTH! LOOK OVER HERE!
And this! The first year after losing someone is the hardest to get through. All the firsts happen in that year. You have to do all sorts of things without them for the first time in your life. It’s tough and draining and that’s where the show’s failed to portray the loss of Neal in a realistic way. Emma, Henry and Rumple’s reactions were infinitely more believable the first time Neal “died”. But then they brought him back and all that grief was anulled. What we got the second time was: yeah yeah been there done that, on to defeating the big bad.

Well, I found at least one positive in that interview. They will not have Elsa be romantically involved with anyone. The last thing this show needs is another couple, so it looks like at least they’re doing that right. Also, you can tell it’s been stressed that Elsa should not be evil on Once. Disney is very in control of this one lol.
