ParticipantDon’t worry RG, we reside in Le Tent of Doom, where nothing remotely Nealfirerific ever happens.

ParticipantI totally missed LOVE day. š I wasn’t home yesterday. Today I’m in Le Tent of Doom, yes it’s French now for some reason?? I’m not sure what to think of the next episode. The further away we are removed from 3×15 the more I feel that everyone who isn’t in this thread is pretty fine with this “unimportant” character being gone. Sort of like, yeah yeah he’s dead, get over it, it’s SO last century’s news. I don’t wanna be over it, I still wanna miss him. A LOT!

Participant@heatherc1275: Ok good, cause my computer is a mess, so I’m not always sure if it’s me or the website.

Participant@textbookone: How could we possibly have any fun without you?! š The end result of your fic is, honestly, exactly what I knew it could be when you first showed it to me. So no apologies for anything please. It turned out perfect. Very real. From the heart and exactly what the show itself needs.
Btw the quote button seems to have disappeared all together for me. Am I the only one who has this issue?

ParticipantI think it all comes down to this: ‘A man unwilling to fight for what he wants deserves what he gets.’ People think Neal wasn’t trying hard enough, or not willing to fight hard for her (and so he couldn’t possibly want to be with her that much then after all). But let me tell you, Neal, he was not UNWILLING to fight, he simply recognized what Emma needs: space. He really wanted her to be with him and he hoped she’d give him another chance, but he saw that he shouldn’t be pushy about it. It’s respectful and frankly I’d breathe a sigh of relief and think, okay he gets it, no pressure. Neal puts Emma’s needs ahead of his own. A certain pirate is really interested in his own needs: Emma.
The very fact that Emma is starting to warm to Hook the moment she thinks he helped Ariel get her happy ending, clearly shows us exactly what kind of man she is looking for. One who helps others selflessly. One who does the right thing without expecting to gain anything from it. The fact that she’s coming around to him has absolutely zero to do with his relentless flirtations. I mean really, trying the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. There’s a word for that.

ParticipantIām also concerned that they show will get cancelled before A&E can properly end it. ABC would have to warn them in AT LEAST January that they may get the ax, since that seems to be how far ahead they write the episodes, to at least give them enough time to wrap things up decently-ish. But everything else makes it look like ABC doesnāt announce renewals until the seasons are over, or almost over. If thatās the case, and A&E are still pushing for a season 5 (going on the assumption that season 4 is a lock), I worry that we may never actually get those happy endings they say that have planned.
This is so true. Unfortunately this is the way of television. Not every show gets their wrapped up ending. Many shows in fact are cancelled after only 1 season. It really is hard these days to get renewed. For any show.
I’m already preparing myself for an “open ending” to be honest.

Participant@Slurpeez, Ok yeah Iām on board with grey areas and people having both good and bad inside them, but I find labeling Eva and Neal āvillainsā or ādarkā too much. Itās too heavy and too out of proportion with their actions (and life choices outside of the mistakes they made). At the same time, labeling Hook a hero is also out of proportion. Yes he helped get Henry back from NL, but being a hero means more than doing 1 good deed. I guess thatās my real issue with this, people arenāt being perceived according to the reality of things, but according to an idea around that reality.
Yes, I totally agree. This is the biggest problem I have with the āmoral of the storyā since the consequences for oneās decisions donāt match the reality of the crime committed. In this show, telling a secret, even one which is coerced, is tantamount to the gravest offense worthy of a dark curse while murder, deceit, and rape arenāt held accountable whatsoever. The punishments donāt match the crime, at all. I wouldnāt even consider telling a secret a crime, merely a blunder, but I would call mass murder committed in cold blood a heinous act. Yet, it seems like there is no real justice in the Once universe.
Precisely. Couldn’t add any more to that. As for the bold part, maybe they are saving all the justice and happy endings and whatnot for when the show comes to an end. If that is the case, I wonder, will it feel worth it?
