Hello my darlings! I missed most of you in chat last Monday because of timezones obviously. So I just wanted to say here that I miss all of you and that I feel blessed to have gotten to know you crazy bison enthusiasts. I wish everyone a happy Christmas and the best New Years!

Oh my goodness. Unbelievable. I didn’t know her very well, but nonetheless, so sorry to hear this sad news.

So many thoughts don’t know where to start. This episode changed absolutely nothing. In the actual sense that had it not existed it wouldn’t have mattered for the story. Okay except for Rumbelle. The only good thing was Belle and that’s it. Bobby and Emilie were phenomenal. The writers don’t even see what they have in their possession. They’ve wasted the talent of these people for the sake of CS face sucking, which btw happens in every single episode at least twice, which is annoying the heck out of me, not because it’s CS, but because I don’t wanna watch people suck face every sinlge second. Not CS, not Rumbelle, not OQ and not Snowing.
Hook, Emma, CS, rug sweeping, no talking, getting away with everything, Emma in the dark STILL. Marian stepping aside. Three, I repeat THREE villains. Predictability all around folks.
I have an amazingly big problem with Ursula. Since when is she a mere witch and not a mythical Goddess? Since when did she get swept up in the original curse? And why is she not/has she not been in SB? And if she was, how did she get to NY exactly and if she wasn’t, how did she end up in NY exactly?!
PS, a writer’s room? Really? So Emma and Hook going back in the past was written before they went back in the past? Oh wait. It wasn’t!

I have very conflicting feelings about the last ep. Honestly, during maybe one of the most interesting curses you make everyone whose ‘true feelings’ we really wanna see, immune? Which basically was half the cast, and you put Belle to sleep? For like 2 whole seconds she was on screen and then Rumple LEFT her alone with Hook still in the shop? Hello! He could have killed her. Stolen heart or not. And for that matter ‘redeemed’ Hook or not.
Also they sorta went the comedy route with the curse which was not entirely what I expected. I was actually fine with it, since I did enjoy it, but they built it up to be this whole big terrible mean nasty horrible curse and then they didn’t deliver. Lana was superb though. From the promo pics I thought she was going to be too over the top, which she was but in a good way. The ending was anticlimactic, but basically their issues were so old and a little trivial (besides Henry’s) that the reaction to laugh it off felt appropriate.
The end of Ingrid was beautiful. Elizabeth Mitchell was amazing. I felt sympathy for her as I did not for Zelena. It was a touching sacrifice and one that reminded me of Rumple’s once upon a time ago. Though maybe they shouldn’t have phrased it as ‘death being her happy ending’ but I get that being with her sisters was. The wording just wasn’t quite right.
I was very disappointed with Will. Dude I was counting on you to clock that dirty pirate. Hook, of course did not surprise me at all with his juvenile remark about ‘together’ when the son of his gf just told him he didn’t like him. I don’t think the writers really get that it stopped being ‘charming’ a long while ago and that remarks like that only keep making him look like an inconsiderate part of the male anatomy.
Special shoutout to Lee Arenberg btw. ‘Don’t you sneeze on me!’ He always makes me laugh so hard.
PS. That was the shortest curse ever. It lasted what, 5 minutes?
Agreed. I think the more reasonable answer is that without his heart, Hook gives even less of a *bleep* about what the kid has to say.
Sadly this is exactly the reasoning every other character will use when/if? they find out about Hook’s bad deeds. Oh it was his heart, never mind that he did bad things all the time when he did have his heart (killing a man (who is magically not dead anymore as of an episode ago) within the last year). He was controlled, he couldn’t help it, oh but for convience sake he CAN feel love, cause that’s the way we want it, otherwise CS will suffer and we can’t have that.

Can someone please explain to me, why my jaw is still able to drop with this show. Blackbeard? Saved all of a sudden? By Ariel? Not eaten by sharks (that happened to be swimming near port)? Minutes after Ariel was having a chat with Hook. Zero scars, exact same costume. Survived. How… why do I still think ‘oh but they wouldn’t do THAT’? I honestly thought the Blackbeard stuff was gonna be in flashbacks.
And so BB traded a bean for the JR? Did I get that right? Why on earth would he do that after being murdered by Hook. A ship, more valuable to BB than a (‘rare’) magic bean with which you can travel through worlds? Why… what???
As for the curse, despite its plot devicey feel, it has major potential, but knowing Once, it won’t fulfill it.
And uhm, timeline? What timeline?

What is their angle with all these female villains? And is Ursula a villain on Once now? I thought Regina-Ursula was a villain and the Myth/Sea Goddess-Ursula was sort of neutral-ish. And wasn’t Maleficent dead?
Maybe Rumple needs the powers of all these villains? But does Cruella even have powers? I thought she was just a mean fashionista. So then what?

Ok I just OMGed out loud. There is actual proof right in front of me, on my screen, that Cruella is actually a thing. It seems that up until just now I was still not fully believing that she would appear. Even though it was confirmed already. Probably because I feel that Cruella on Once is very much Disney overload.

She’ll do the whole “we all have good and bad” speech that Elsa just gave her and that’ll be that.
I’m conditioning myself to accept this, because when the time comes, this will happen. The whole entire first half of this season is one big fat commercial about forgiveness and good sides and bad sides and accepting both sides and loving yourself and others despite the bad parts. It’s kinda hard, because you don’t want to believe it’s gonna go down like that, that it’s gonna be that simple and unsatisfying, but Once has let me down so many times. So I have to not hope for anything, because my hopes will be crushed.
As for the red heart btw, I kinda failed to notice it at the time. I wasn’t paying too close attention, but yeah that is very… annoying.

Anyway I totally cheered when Rumple ripped out Hook’s heart. Once has turned me into a sadist apparently, but hey what goes around comes around (Hook Aurora heart anyone?). Now he’ll know what it feels like.
I know of course my happiness won’t last long. Emma will forgive everything anyway and blame Rumple and blablabla. Predictable.
Btw, I think there’s a very unhappy ending in store for Rumple. After all of this, it would feel very out of place if he got to live happily ever after, with Belle no less.
The book thing confuses me and there will probably be a bucketload of retconning and plot holes involved in that storyline.
The SQ kinda bores me. I find myself rolling my eyes a lot when she talks about wanting to create her own family. The spell of shattered sight is an interesting idea though, I do admit. It could prove a nice tool for the characters to actually grow and learn and stuff but I doubt they will. Or, now that I think of it, this could be A&E’s way of getting all those heart to heart moments we all missed for the past 2 seasons squished into one episode. So as to get that out of the way before we go back to PLOT. Like with Anna, getting all those unspoken grievances out there before returning to normal and hugging and kissing and ooh NEXT VILLAIN!
