RG, was the scene with Pan and Rumple fun, at least? That is literally why I’m watching the episode on Sunday. I will swing the bat for their terrible, terrible relationship even two seasons after I stopped watching.

ouatrandothoughtsParticipantI loved the moment where Emma and Neal bond over their fairy tale-induced weird love lives. I honestly thought that not getting the immediate reaction to Bae realizing that Pan was his grandfather was a massive missed opportunity (that episode clearly didn’t have time to deal with him processing all of that which is why they gave that reveal to Snow, Emma and Regina, the people who would care the LEAST) and this bonding moment was a nice consolation prize for me. Neal was, in general, a nice male analogue to Emma in that he felt very real world and aware of how CRAZY their lives were.

ouatrandothoughtsParticipantIt is kind of weird to think about a bunch of people who quit the show becoming vaguely interested again over a brief cameo. Though, full disclosure, Robbie Kay coming back and having a scene with Bobby was what really first made me want to take a crack at Episode 100. Their chemistry makes the most objectively terrible family relationship on the show weirdly compelling to me.

ouatrandothoughtsParticipantI was already thinking about watching episode 100 because of the return of Robbie Kay (being one of the five people who loved the Rumple/Pan hot train wreck of a relationship, lol) and now that I know Neal is going to be in it, I have to watch just for the lulz of the drama. Despite having not seen the last season and 3/4.
Hey guys! It’s been awhile. How’s it hanging?

ouatrandothoughtsParticipantI haven’t been on the forums in ages. How are you guys? I hear Emma is the Dark One now, which is…kind of a plot point I always sort of thought might happen.

The fandom fallout from that would be trainwreck-tastic.

I must be watching a different show to the one they think they’re writing, because all I’ve seen this half season is the establishment of Rumple as being greedy for ultimate power, I haven’t been seeing him as fearful. Sure that explanation makes sense, and fans have suggested that it was being controlled by Zelena that messed him up, but in the actual show it’s been more like them sledgehammering us with “He wants AAALLLL TEH POWERRZ,” IMO. A little monologue to himself (or Neal’s grave), lamenting what he’s doing but that he’s being driven by fear of being controlled after his experience with Zelena was essential to have if that’s how they wanted him to be perceived.
This is totally consistent with his character through season 3, but from everything I understand about this season, is…not the obvious explanation for his behavior?

ouatrandothoughtsParticipantUtter bull crap! Nobody else ever experienced the same thing as Emma? YES, SOMEONE ELSE FREAKING DID! HIS NAME WAS NEAL CASSIDY!
Frankly, even Neal’s father’s childhood was more like Emma’s than Hook’s. Hook’s upbringing is about as far from Emma as is possible…Charming and Regina had “more” different experiences, but other than that…just no.

ouatrandothoughtsParticipantHe has pretty much admitted to it, on more than one occasion. First time I recall was at CC 2013, and then as recently as Oct. 2014.
Yeah he’s really not hiding it in that second interview. Kind of makes me laugh how unsentimental he is. I also wonder if he realizes how narratively unsatisfying unredeemed Rumple would ultimately be for the vast majority of the audience.
