ParticipantI agree that this was a massive waste. He didn’t even feel all that threatening and he was so easily defeated. I had really hoped that he would have been working with the Black Fairy…

Participant“…kraken’s blood.” HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA SURE!
I just rolled my eyes watching this clip. It is actually embarrassing now. Why do they keep adding these new rules EVERY EPISODE. A new magical object or rule seems to show up every other scene at the moment. It makes the mythology feel more and more diluted.
Instead of doing all this crazy plot stuff, why don’t they just home in on the characters? Emma in the last episode seemed all over the place, and I would much prefer a coherent narrative with less-frequent magical threats, than what they are doing.
Why can’t they show them living their lives? Yes, I love the magic aspect, but not at the expense of character development. The scene with Emma and Hook where she gives him back the ring could have spanned half the episode and been much more engaging than the version we got, which felt hugely rushed in order to get Hook out of the picture.
Urgh.

ParticipantI feel like we’re getting a new season by that answer, honestly. He’s just waiting to reveal it.
That was my impression as well…

ParticipantThis could be a really dumb theory, but I am starting to wonder if the Black Fairy is the one who has been searching for Henry? We still don’t know where the picture originated from (do we?) that Pan used to try and hunt Henry down. I’m starting to wonder if:
a) The Black Fairy has been taking children because she has been trying to find a specific child – Henry – for some unknown purpose.
b) It could get all weird with time and Henry goes into the Dark Realm and comes back out again, but during his time in the Dark Realm he comes across the Black Fairy who then creates the picture of him and tries to find him (during the Neverland arc)? If the Dark Realm exists outside of time then maybe it allows people to enter/re-enter at different points in our timeline? That could get over-complicated though so probably isn’t where they are going with it. It would tie up some loose ends though, and we know the Black Fairy has a connection to Pan.
The more I type, the more I am talking myself out of this theory!

ParticipantHow much do you think Netflix viewership/popularity factors in to these decisions? There was a point in the past where Once was one of the most watched shows on Netflix and they are still airing new episodes a couple of days after the US release in the UK.
Matt
ParticipantI’m starting to think that Once is more likely to get cancelled now. I think one of their biggest issues is that people are struggling to follow what is going on – even some of the core fans are struggling. I have a friend who watches each week and is often confused about what is going on.
If they reset the show then they are going to have to do something to make it easier to follow. At the moment casual viewers couldn’t really tune in and enjoy it very much, even with all of the forced exposition!

ParticipantMaybe Graham? Maleficent? who would we not expect to see in a musical episode? ??
Pongo?

ParticipantCan we just talk about the sword for a minute? It’s been enchanted with light magic so that whoever wields it will be hailed as a hero. But that doesn’t actually make you a hero, just fools people into thinking you are on. Wanna bet Gideon heard about this sword and that’s why he’s using it (instead of magic or any other weapon) against Emma?
It is interesting that we will see how Rumple got the sword. I wonder who enchanted it with light magic? Maybe the Lady of the Lake?
Matt
ParticipantI am a little shocked by this…..and Daniel will be so thrilled. What is the final battle exactly? I think it’s been made pretty clear that Gideon really isn’t a bad guy. His mind has just been warped by Black Fairy. And if we think Black Fairy goes down in her centric, plus if Jafar only comes back for the Agrabah episode, and if EQ runs off with Robin, who on Earth are they fighting in this?
Whatever The Final Battle is, I hope it involves some proper large scale magic battles – without just stupid fireball throwing.
