ParticipantI will respond properly later, but I wanted to point out that I really liked that the “Emma’s Theme” song lyrics, actually made me realise in some respects how similar she is to the Black Fairy. They were both sent to lands where they were trapped and alone. I hadn’t really thought of it like this until I really listened to what Emma was singing.

ParticipantPretty sure that the album is already out. I keep seeing people screencapping and listening to it on Twitter.
International countries got the soundtrack on iTunes early, because it was already May 5th where they live. I think Australia was the earliest country to release it.
It is number 21 in the UK charts at the moment – which is pretty impressive given we don’t even officially have the show on a network here AND given the episode hasn’t even aired yet.
At the time of writing this, it is 13th in the US charts. They must be selling a lot of copies.

ParticipantWhy are they now randomly trying to pretend that Granny’s is the heart of Storybrooke? Since when?
No idea. It seems like the most awkward place to have a wedding, especially as it meant that they have had to do a lot of CGI work. Makes me wonder if a curse cloud will be looming over the big day.

ParticipantI get that they want to publicise the episode, but seriously?! Why are they releasing full songs instead of small teasers? I’m not going to watch any more as it is going to ruin my enjoyment of the episode.

ParticipantLooks like the strike won’t be happening, as the WGA reached an agreement!: Deal! Writers agree to new contract, avoid strike
Phew! Thanks for keeping us up-to-date on this

Participant*cringe* I think that the wedding is going to be ruined by me due to the horrible horrible horrible CGI. It looks awful – even by Once’s standards. Why couldn’t they get married on the Jolly Roger? At least they wouldn’t have had to CGI it. So disappointing.

ParticipantIncidentally, why are the Charmings such jerks when it comes to Granny’s? First you have Emma trashing it to Belle, now in this episode Charming calls it a dump…. I wouldn’t want to get married there either, but come on guys!
But what about all of the amazing memories? Like Hook terrorising the fairies by sucking them into the sorcerers hat?
Matt
ParticipantOh no. I really hope that the first book doesn’t end with yet another fantasy-show trope of “the episode where the main character’s sanity is questioned”. It isn’t terribly original, but I do have fears that they are going to go this route. I know Buffy did it, as did Charmed, I am pretty sure Smallville did too. To name just a few.

ParticipantI agree with the others. They should have introduced the Black Fairy a lot earlier in the season. Aladdin and Jasmine and Jafar, who was never anyone, were a complete waste of screentime. The only good scenes where the few Aladdin scenes with Emma. The rest could have been cut. The writers of this show just don’t understand what is interesting and they never will. This season just has no narrative arc at all beside Emma’s hands are still shaking and the finale battle is still coming on repeat which is not an arc.
I’m also frustrated that they teased big revelations in terms of Savior mythology, and I don’t know about anyone else, but it feels like they really haven’t delivered on that as of yet.
