Oh God, please noooooooo!!! I don’t need that kind of confusion in my head when it comes to this show.

I agree Obisgirl… that was just where my mind went first. Honestly, there are more problems in the writing they could fix than the recasting of Robin Hood.

If it’s a flashback from the missing year, I wonder if Zelena would be interacting with Hook.

The biggest mystery from the missing years is really Hook trading the Jolly Roger for a magic bean. We need that story.

So I just thought of a theory about the Author/Sorcerer, and this is the only place I felt comfortable posting it. Had I been writing the show, it would’ve been SwanFire all the way. However, I’ve since made my peace with Captain Swan. I’m posting my theory here because I don’t want to upset any CaptainSwan Fans.

What if Hook and the Author have crossed Paths? During this meeting, probably during the year they went back to the EF, the author arranged Hook’s happy ending… for whatever reason. I have no clue what the Author’s motivation would’ve been, but i can guess Hook’s motivation – Emma.

I’m not trying to cut open old wounds, but in episode 316, before Neal dies, Hook shares a heartfelt goodbye with Neal. That scene has always bothered me. Mostly because it seemed to me that Hook knew that Neal was going to die.

If Hook did know that Neal was going to die, then I think he would’ve found out about it from the Author. Maybe the Author saw some goodness in Hook, or maybe the Author was doing Emma a favor, giving Emma her best chance by pairing her with the man that would help her on her journey. OR MAYBE, just maybe, Hook stole Neal’s happy ending – i have to add that possibility since he has a villainous past.

I’m not trying to resurrect Neal or bash Hook. Either Neal’s death was just poor writing or there’s more to the story than we know. Maybe the author had a hand in all of it. I wouldn’t mind learning that there was more to Neal’s death than we knew at the time, if for no other reason than to fix the bad writing and give us all a little more closure.

    Crack theory… what can I say…

That theory is believable. Whatever method is used to make August an adult, I just want it to be believable. Rumple has great motivation for making him grown up again. Maybe we will finally learn what August was doing with the nuns/fairies.

I disagree. I think it would be a bit of a major cop out if the writers pulled the “It wasn’t Regina’s fault” card. Not only does it takes away her culpability, but it also diminishes her redemption and character growth. Turning Regina into a “poor little victim” for her entire life is a huge disservice to the character.

Regina is probably my favorite character. Regardless of how much i like her, and her story of redemption, there is NO TRUE REDEMPTION for Regina. The only redemption for a person who slaughtered entire villages and ruined countless lives (all for the purpose of killing one girl) is death. She would have to die for a noble cause. The amount of dead bodies stacked at Regina’s feet is nothing less than genocide. Hitler had human qualities too, but what redemption could there ever be for Hitler?

I really don’t want Regina to die. I’d like to see her get a happy ending, but it almost seems unfair that Regina gets a happy ending when she’s taken so many away. There’s a reason villains don’t get happy endings. Has Regina done enough good deeds to erase her evil? Hardly.

So part of me feels like the only way Regina could be deserving of a happy ending would be finding out that she was less responsible for her actions than we realized.

Perhaps Rumple made the Sea Goddess the Sea Witch.

Love the theory! I’m all for Lilly being Regina and Robin’s daughter.

The alternate picture of Robin and Regina actually meeting in the tavern is something big, at least, i think it’s big.

I, too, believe that it actually happened, and that the story/history we know from previous seasons may be the product of magic – like messing with people’s memories or cursing people to make them have certain memories or personalities… like a curse that insured Regina would be evil.

I don’t know how the alternate storybook page fits into everything, but I think it actually happened. It could very well be that it was just meant to be a ray of hope for Regina from the author about making your own destiny, but i think there is more to it. Maybe an alternate reality, considering that there are hundreds of blank book in the author’s mansion.

I admit, I don’t really want to see alternate realities or flash sideways, because that would be too much like LOST. What i’d like to see is that Regina isn’t as responsible for her decisions as we think. After she met Robin in the tavern, maybe Rumple or the Sorcerer/author, intervened by setting Regina down her path of destruction, altering Regina’s memory and helping to make her the evil queen.

    Favorite Episode: Heroes and Villains!

-When Rumple said in the Pilot that “the final battle will begin…” this episode really, for me, delivered on that prediction- more so than any other since the neverland arc. I think the Sorcerer/author will be a big part of the final battle. Hope, hope, hope!

    Least Favorite Episode: White Out

-This really hurts me to say because I always love Jane’s episodes the most, but if I have to choose a least favorite, it’s this one. It seemed a little like filler, but I still enjoyed this episode.

Overall Thoughts: Yay character development, BOO plot!

    – This season was more about character development than anything, which i liked and didn’t like, but ultimately, what i loved most about it was the way this season allowed Regina and Emma to form a believable friendship. By the end of the Frozen arc, the way Regina was smiling at Emma left me with more hope for their friendship than any other season. In the end, I think the themes of Frozen were perfect for developing Regina and Emma as more than just co-mothers of Henry.

-my biggest beef with season 4A is that Ingrid’s magic remained in the town after she had died. This wasn’t the case when Zelena died, so in the end of 4A, plot ruled. I wish the writers had stuck to their own rules of magic.

Favorite Moment: (Don’t hate me Rumbelle fans)

    – When Belle found the real dagger and banished Rumple. I admit, i don’t want that to be the end of their relationship, but for me that moment was powerful. I’ve been wanting to see that side of Belle for a while.

-(honorable mention – 2nd favorite moment lol) The moment Hook grabbed Emma’s wrist and squeezed, letting her know something was wrong. I started the show as a SwanFire shipper. However, I’ve learned to love CaptainSwan, and Hook grabbing Emma wrist while Rumple controlled him spoke loads to me about Hook and Emma’s connection.

    Best Frozen Adapted Character: Anna

    – Hands down Anna, if for nothing else how loyal the actress and writers were to the cartoon version. well done!

Final Grade: B- or C+, a passing grade.

Gaiman is one of my all time favorite authors. Great read, thanks for sharing!

Ditto for me. I read Neverwhere first, then Stardust, then Coraline, then The Graveyard Book. Love the Gai-Man!

    Thanks for posting this interview!
