PanTheManParticipant
The EQ’s survival sort of paralleled Zelena’s survival at the end of season 3B. The smoke effect was different colors for Regina and Zelena, but it was more or less the same.
I still don’t know how Zelena died, but i’m guessing the Evil Queen survived after her heart was crushed because the real Regina still lives.
So next season will probably be about all the halves becoming wholes again.

PanTheManParticipantI loved Belle and Rumple’s scene in this episode. Honestly, I didn’t expect Rumple to say the things he said, and I didn’t expect to like what he said.
What he said is definitely controversial, Belle loving him for the beast as well as the man, but there was something that wasn’t said that made me feel good about Rumple’s character development.
While the focus was on why Belle fell in love with Rumple (Rumple accused her of liking the beast, even loving the beast) Rumple’s reasons for falling in love with Belle were never mentioned.
Rumple loves Belle because she isn’t afraid of the beast, and because she’s proven to be able to tame the beast. Rumple believes he’s a better person with Belle in his life, and in his mind, he thinks she keeps the beast in check, which encourages Rumple to use his power more responsibly.
Rumple wants power, but he needs Belle for him to use that power the right way, and he knows it. He knows he can be a hero. I think at this point, he wants to be a hero, but he can’t be trusted with the DO power without Belle there to guide him.
If the Dark One absolutely must exist and there’s no way to break the curse, at this point if we were voting, we would all WANT the DO to be Rumple. He seems to be the best at it, and I think there’s even hope for him to begin using his power for good rather than evil. But he thinks he needs Belle to be good.
PanTheManParticipantI sort of like that we’re keeping Dorothy at arms’ length. It’s very Wicked (the book, the musical) to just focus on the Wicked Witch.
Zelena asked Dorothy what happened to her in Kansas to make her change. Makes me think we’ll see Dorothy again maybe.
And question! If Zelena had the scarecrow’s brain, why did she need Rumple’s brain later? I’m guessing she loses the scarecrow’s brain somehow, then sets her sights on Storybrooke to get her ingredients.

PanTheManParticipantI don’t know how much it will matter in the end of this season, but good work on making these parallels. I really appreciate foreshadowing.
The season 4 finale may be my most neglected episode, so i may need to go back and watch again.

PanTheManParticipantI think Hades and Cora wheeled and deal in the past, their first encounter seemed so familiar between the two of them. Cora herself told Regina about things she had to do, and the deals that she had to make to get them their perfect life. Hades probably has a history with Peter Pan too…..he was obsessed with living forever as a young boy, so I wouldn’t put it past Peter to make a deal with Hades.
Hades could be their way of FINALLY explaining how Pan got that drawing of Henry, if Hades and Pan do have a past.
I had the same thought about Hades and Pan.

PanTheManParticipantCouldn’t Zelena’s connection to Hades explain how she was able to return to life and become Mariann? I know they’ve already explained it in the show, but was there more to it? Technically she did cheat death. Seems like that would get Hades’ attention.
Is it possible that Zelena’s baby is actually Hades’ child and not Robins?

PanTheManParticipantYes, I think Hades is probably the one who created the Dark Curse. When you boil it down to its basics, the Dark Curse takes away Happy Endings, the very thing that Emma restores. I think Hades and Emma are being set up to be opposites of each other (the enemy of life, the savior or life;) It would make sense for him to have created the Dark Curse that she was destined to break.
I like your thinking, but if it’s true, why was Hades more worried about Regina than Emma in this episode? He didn’t even mention Emma. Or would you say Hades first plan of action was to get rid of Regina because of how it would effect Emma?

PanTheManParticipantThis could also be another reference to Fantasia.
February 3, 2016 at 10:14 am in reply to: TVLine 2/2 – Matt's Inside Line – Belle's Challenges in 5B #315979PanTheManParticipantHere’s another throwback to season 3A. The gang goes off to Neverland while Belle stays behind. And just like last time, the writers are trying to convince us that she has an important part to play. I’ll believe it when i see it. Poor Belle.
