ParticipantIn the episode Manhattan, Rumple’s deal with Emma is specifically to get Neal to talk to him – this makes me think that Rumple and Neal had seen each other at least once before they were first separated. Possibly in Neverland.
I could see Bael/neal refusing to talk to Rumple when/if they met in Neverland. Rumple could be the reason that Bae/neal was able to escape Neverland.
Hook and Bae could have left at the same time. Hook went to enchanted forest and got frozen in time with Cora, while Bae/Neal came to our world and met grew up and met Emma.

ParticipantI’m a big supporter of Dr. Whale being Dr. Frankenstein and the Wizard of Oz. I’m sure will be seeing Oz soon! Check out comments in Dr, Whale’s character discussion for more evidence.
I’m calling it now… Dr. Whale will invent a machine that can open up portals between worlds. No more magic beans… we have technology!

ParticipantHim showing up briefly in the 2 part finale just to kiss Rumple’s boot, I think, TRULY was a little reminder that Dr. Whale is still around and that they have plans for him.

ParticipantI’m liking all the Wendy and Tinkerbell theories, BUT… until we know for sure, I have to go with Blue Fairy. I’m really hoping the writers are saving a great episode for her.
It’s pretty obvious she wanted the curse enacted, so she manipulated Rumple. Blue Fairy probably has some foresight like Rumple, since she’s the source of magic (or however it was phrased). I imagine that she knew the book would be needed to inspire certain characters.

At the time I was under the impression that the wizard of oz thing was a misdirect for that ep (even though the promo gave away it was Frankenstein, grr) BUT that info came from Jane Espenson who has also said that she learns new things in the writer’s room every day and isn’t always told some of the big over-arcing stuff until necessary so it wouldn’t surprise me if they had her go that route not knowing just how much of an impact it would have later.
There IS a name connection between the two, as VICTOR Fleming directed The Wizard of Oz, much like Jacob WHALE directed Frankenstein where the lead character is named Victor. Could be coincidence, could have helped with the red herrings in The Doctor, or it could be an eventual combining of the two. I’m not sure yet but wanted to throw that out there for anybody who was looking for connections with the idea.
Holy poop! VICTOR WHALE coming from Victor Fleming and Jacob Whale… I’M SOLD! He’s definitely the Wizard of Oz on top of Dr. Frankenstein.

ParticipantI certainly think the Shadow was looking for Bael. K&H said in the officail podcast that “a bit of magic certainly seemed to follow Bae…”
the fact that they used the word FOLLOW really sums it up for me.
1. the Shadow wanted Bae specifically.
2. He lured Wendy out the window 1st, hoping Bae would come too.
3. He brought Wendy back, and got Bae.So who does the Shadow belong to/work for?

ParticipantI’m thinking Emma’s magic will ultimately help Regina get her powers back. They set a precedent for this at the beginning of the season. Emma touched Regina, which gave her access to magic.

Participantso this science vs. magic debate that GOAT is re-sparking has me thinking.
Dr. Whale could be Dr. Frankenstein and the Wizard of Oz. His technology has had a very Oz feel to it stylistically. Dorothy was ALSO from a land without color – though that was the movie. Whale also has personality traits in common with the Wizard. example: high on himself and his work, but fake and less than honorable.
Also, could Rumple be the Wicked Witch of the West? Or, if Tamara stole his powers and got green skin, she’d be the WWW. They’ve been hinting at Oz for a while. I feel as though many worlds are about to collide in the coming seasons. If Regina’s fail safe works and not everyone gets out of storybrook, i could see the characters being scattered in different worlds. Some being sent to oz, maybe?

ParticipantThank you for responding, Rumplesgirl! And that link. I’ve been avoiding getting on here while i wait for Sunday’s episode. it’s actually made things quicker, but this similar theory we are having kinda hit me last night. I just feel sure Henry will be more than just leverage in the kidnapping.
I’ve been waiting for them to develop Henry in a direction other than Emma and Regina’s (and now Neal’s) son. This kid is like the show’s… pardon the LOST reference… John Locke – character with strong faith. I’m thinking their ultimately has to be something special about him too.
If Henry has inherited “Pan powers” from Neal or has something special, then it makes him being Rumple’s “undoing” a bit more… ominous.

Something else, K&H have spoken about adding a gay/lesbian couple to the show. They said in an interview that they really want to do it. Given that Mulan’s story has a theme of gender identity (dressing up like a boy) i’m wondering if Mulan could be part of a lesbian relationship. Probably not, since they’ve given her a romantic tie with Prince Phillip, but who knows… At times i’ve wondered if it’s Philip or Aurora that Mulan has feelings for. Could she possibly have been helping Prince Philip because she too has feeling for Aurora? Probably not, but who knows.
Really? I haven’t read anything about that, but I would totally ‘ship Mulara if it ever happened. Was this in an interview they gave?

I think I identify most with Snow. I tend to be optimistic and hopeful and might overlook some important things in trying to see the good in people and situations….I also tend to be very hard on myself when I mess up

Hmm, actually I think I probably relate to Snow in those respects too.
