PanTheManParticipant
While I loved seeing Henry become the Author, I imagine his new title will be about as relevant as his old title (Heart of the Truest Believer) once season 5 premiers.
Yes I don’t think it’s ever going to play out in any significant way past this finale.
When did we become so pessimistic? I guess it was somewhere in season 3.
[adrotate group="5"]PanTheManParticipantOkay, this thread is kind of tackling the biggest issue i had with Season 4B.
If the Author’s only job was to record, then why did he have the power to change so much? What’s the difference between recording with the quill vs. recording with a pencil. Was the Author given such powerful magic for his own protection?
The Apprentice seemed delighted when Henry broke the quill. It was almost as if being given the quill is a test, a test that Henry passed.
The Apprentice: “It seems we’ve finally found the right person for the job.”
That line sort of hints at a history of failed Authors, so if being given the quill is a test, what does Henry get for passing it? Is he a new type of Author? Is he someone the Apprentice and Sorcerer have been searching for, waiting for the right candidate to appear?

PanTheManParticipant1. Favorite episode of 4B:
Hands down, Sympathy for the De Vil. Cruella was quite refreshing this season. As soon as she was gone, I wanted more of her. This was the episode with the best writing and had fewer plot hole than other contenders for my fav episode. (Cough… operation mongoose.)
2. Least favorite Episode of 4B:
Either Best Laid Plans or Lilly.
3. Season 4A or season 4B:
I would grade them about the same. While i really like the development the Frozen arc allowed for, I would ultimately go with the Queens of Darkness arc. I really like how this season as a whole really conveyed that there more than one way to be a villain and more than one way to be a hero.
4. Favorite QOD:
Duh! Cruella! I loved that until we saw her centric episode, she seemed like the weakest of the villains, but once we knew her story, we see that she’s the strongest of them. Her twist, not being able to kill, really appealed to me as a viewer and long time fan of the show. Not to mention, Victoria was superb.
5. Favorite Plot Twist:
Isaac taking away Cruella’s ability to Kill, and then Emma killing defenseless Cruella. (Let it be known that i definitely supported Emma in those moments. Were someone holding a gun to my head, I know what my parents would’ve done. They’d have protected their baby boy.)
6. Least Fav Plot Twist:
I actually didn’t mind the Zelena drama, so i’m gonna say the Ursula as the Little Mermaid twist. Combining Ursula’s story with the Little Mermaid was brilliant if you ask me, but compared to some of the others it was a bit boring. Plus, I hate how that episode cut Ursula’s story short. They did it in a believable enough way, but I wanted the QOD trio around a little longer.
7. Overall grade:
I give S4B a solid B+. Even with the abundance of plot holes, I loved this half of the season. I appreciated the over saturation of villains and thought they choose pretty perfect characters for this arc’s theme. Not one of the QOD failed to move me… in their own ways, of course.
8. Most bothersome lingering questions:
How did Cruella get to the Enchanted Forest?
Lily’s father?
If they Author’s job is only to record, why did he have the power to change stories to begin with?
Will Scarlet????????????????????????? Come on! We deserved an answer to why he was here. He felt like a rebound in more than one way this season. Belle’s rebound, and the writer’s rebound. I tend to feel sorry for the actor, who is part of such a great show and never gets the spotlight.
PanTheManParticipantPINFEATHERS AND GOLLY FLUFF!
PanTheManParticipantI’d be a little disappointed in the show if the it ended and Storybrooke didn’t have any interactions with the rest of the world. It really seemed like in season 2, with greg and tamara working to destroy magic, that that’s where the show was going. Outsiders coming to storybrooke and possibly declaring war on magic.
While I think the idea of intruders coming to SB and wanting to destroy magic was an interesting one, I have a feeling that notion was totally abandoned when Tamara and Greg were so quickly done away with in favor of Neverland. Plus, the magic taser idea was a total fail. I think that idea wasn’t just put on the back burner; it got totally scrapped.
I tend to agree with you, but the fact that the Dragon was mentioned this season and August will be in the Finale gives me a little hope.
PanTheManParticipantmy game changer prediction:
Storybrooke will be receiving visitors from the outside world, which will eventually end with everyone in storybrooke realizing that they don’t belong in A Land Without Magic, prompting them to return to the Enchanted Forest.
We know there are rare sources of magic outside storybrooke, like the Dragon.
We know greg and Tamara worked with others who believed in magic.
We know most people don’t believe in magic, and seeing people become believers, witnessing magic for themselves, could really play on the show’s theme of hope.

I would love to see outsiders in storybrooke. People witnessing magic and becoming believers. This would also have the potential for great new villains and drama.
Nonbelievers in storybrooke could have an unprecedented effect on the magic there.
I’d also want this to connect back to the Dragon from season 2.
Maybe touch on the people that worked with Greg and Tamara.
With outsiders coming to storybrooke, to protect magic, everyone in storybrooke realizes that they have to go back to the enchanted forest.
PanTheManParticipantWhile I’m happy to finally be seeing Rumple slay some ogres, I would’ve much rather seen Dark One Rumple end the ogre wars and save the children. I’ve wanted to see that story since season 1.
Maybe they’ve been saving that story for this.
Either way, it’s pretty perfect for the theme of Heroes and Villains. Even Dark One Rumple was a hero the day he ended the ogre wars.
PanTheManParticipantCould be Blackbeard. I don’t know why he came to mind, but I like your idea better, Watcher.
May 5, 2015 at 1:55 pm in reply to: Will Henry become the Dark Swan? The Sorcerer? Will he take Emma's place? #303863PanTheManParticipantIN the most recent episode, Isaac told Regina, “looks like you have someone looking out for you,” referring to the alternate page 23.
What if that someone is Henry? Either he becomes the author or the Sorcerer and aims to help his mother.
This theory does present a problem timeline wise, but this show has a way of magically making those time issues work.
