I think the since Liza Minnelli is an icon among drag queens. She was basically insulting ruby telling her she dresses like one.

Granny says Red started transforming when she was 12 or 13, right? That is a normal age when the menstrual cycle starts. There could be that connection. Or it’s just because it’s the supposed start of puberty.

I think Red starting her transformation at the age of puberty is a totally a connection to her sexuality and her wolf.

    Regarding her two different selves

Red/ Ruby reminds me of this quote from Dr. Clarissa Pinkola Estรฉs, who wrote “Women who run with the Wolves”:

A healthy woman is much like a wolf ~ robust, inventive, loyal, fierce.
Yet separation from her wildish nature causes a woman to become meager, ghostly, anxious about leaping, fearful to create new life.

This describes Red and Ruby both, it just manifests itself in two different ways.

maybe the curse is supposed to end all magic.

He also told Cinderella that the fairy godmother’s wand was pure evil. I think he want’s to get rid of all magic- not just to break his curse- but because he really believes all magic is evil

As for why he needed someone else to break the curse, If true love is needed to break the curse, he would need another person since he believes no one is capable of loving him.

    I must be going nuts
the second symbol one from the left on the top shelf looks like a darth vader helmet

The top shelf -far left, I think is a cloud, so representing wind? Maybe dreams?
Then Darth vader. A feather, maybe an apple and then death. I think the last symbol might be a tree

On the lower shelf theres a crown so royalty? A moon, true love, and the sun. In paganism the moon represents the femine and the sun the masculine so maybe its not a coincedence they have true love between these opposites. I can’t make out the other two.

Why is it that Granny was able to overcome her compulsion to transform into a wolf during wolf-season but Red has not

Little Red Riding hood is often viewed as having sexual overtones. Just do a Google search on it and you’ll find plenty.

Also werewolves connections to the lunar cycle have drawn parallels with the female cycle. I’m pretty sure the writers know this so I my first thought was Granny didn’t learn to control her powers she just went through a version of werewolf menopause.

I think it’s highly possible that something with enough power for one pregnant adult would have enough power for a child and a baby.

I see it playing out with Blue Fairy as well and she is the one who sends Pinocchio through the wardrobe first to so he can be there when Emma goes through, Iโ€™m sure she knows the baby will be born before Snow could go through.

The longer I have to wait for the episode the more I really want August to be Pinocchio. It just opens up so much potential for the character, and I would love to see the reunion of him and Gepetto.

On the other hand the more I think of it the less I like the Bae idea. The main theme of magic in the show is it always comes with a price and that great power requires great sacrifice. Losing Bae was that sacrifice, intentional or not, I kinda think he has to pay that in order to be true to the character.

He is a perfect example of how the road to hell is paved with good intentions. Starting out only wanting good but ending up on a long dark path that costs him dearly. I want the character to find redemption but I think that will be with Belle โ€“ eventually, not with his son.

    August: You found me.
Emma: Did you ever doubt I would?
(exact mirrored dialogue from Snow and Charming in the pilot)

I love that idea but they canโ€™t break the curse completely, not in the first season and I don’t see Emma and August sharing true loves kiss so quickly, so think I Emma leaving town and everyone will forgetting right after they just remembered more likely

However if August is Pinocchio they could fit a line similar in there like

    Emma: You Found me?

August: I will always find you. (Since it’s been his life’s purpose to protect the princess. ๐Ÿ˜€ )

Another thing they could do is have Jefferson return return and instead of Emma leaving town she goes with him through his hat. That would blow some minds I bet. ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

I think he intentionally chose Henry too. However I think he originally planned it would be Cinderella’s baby instead of Emma and that’s why he wanted the child.

The look of pride he had when she made progress in the last ep was so sweet. He has an emotional connection to her. I find it completely believable that that connection would come from him having known her since she was a baby and now he’s watching her fullfill her destiny, which is something he’s been waiting for since the day he met her, 28 years ago.

Yep. My thoughts too ๐Ÿ˜€ . Plus they would have both grown up with out family.

Did you also notice the how hurt he was when she accused him of betraying her.

I think he looks at her with reverence because he knows how important she is.

I’ve thought Pinocchio for for a while now. I’m not so emotionally invested in the theory that it will ruin the show for me if it’s not though, but of all the theories, Pinocchio is still my favorite.

I am sooo confused and think way too much about this character. Have no idea anymore who I think he may be. Its kinda sad when you find yourself playing sceens in slow motion looking for hints to see why his leg hurt.

Good to know I`m not the only one. ๐Ÿ˜†

I`ve given up trying to guess. Or at least that’s what I keep telling myself until I end up back in front of my TV re-wachting more August scenes. ๐Ÿ˜€

I think Regina is too far gone for a happy ending.

I think she adopted Henry because she was trying to fill an emptiness inside her, and I think she believes she loves him and is trying to love him to the best of her abilities but I don’t think she is capable of truly loving anyone. When she killed her father, she killed any remaining part of her that could love.
