ParticipantWe don’t know what the rest of the season will look like, but I’m curious, is there really any real hope for rumbelle at all? Rumple lied to Belle (repeatedly) and used her as an alibi for murder…All of those are unforgivable actions. There’s an episode called The Unforgiven in 4B. I used to ‘ship it hard once but now, I think, Belle would be much better off without Rumple, or if Rumple still wants to be with her, he has to really, truly prove that he has changed. We know the only way for Rumple to lose his dark one magic is either via true love’s kiss, or someone kills him. Personally, I think the only way Rumple can truly change is to find a logical way to truly give up his powers altogether. No loopholes, nothing. Just give it up. He can’t still expect to keep his powers and Belle’s love at the same time. If he hasn’t stilled learned his lesson in 4B, then I say, lost cause. He still has not learned anything at all.
Honestly I think there is always hope to repair any relationship, if both parties are willing to work on the issues. I agree that one of issues they need to work on is Rumple’s lust of power. Rumple goal’s of releasing the dagger hold on him was by no means a terrible idea, especially coming out of Wicked. Where he was a Wicked Witches’ slave for half the season, and how that can inspire his objectives . At the same time I can also acknowledge that the tactics he chose in trying to reaching it was awful, and that I hope that he has learned that it is better take a loss than to achieve an honorless victory. If not than it would be pretty difficult for this reunion to occur, but not impossible. I can argue that this ship is a lost cause he doesn’t learn to communicate with Belle during the second half. The reason why this separation occur was because he wasn’t honest or communication with Belle. It is pretty difficult to maintain a relationship if it is lacking these two elements.

ParticipantI agree. This has been my headcanon throughout the season in regards to Rumple but they needed to show it more in show.
For the start of this season, I figured that was the explanation, and I do agree with it since no one deserves to be anyone prisoner or slave by force. That being said I do not in any way condone his actions even trying to kill Hook. Take into account that he is my least favorite character, in other words I agree with the reason, but not the method. Besides when are they going to give the backstory of the dagger and the dark one curse.

ParticipantWill the hint of the kid be shown in the next episode?
If it’s ONCE then I don’t think so. According the inshow timeline Robin and Regina had sex like…what 3 or 4 days ago? No one shows that early on. So unless they are doing a time warp, then the person who is preggers–if it is ONCE–won’t be visible until 4B However, this is something to keep in mind as spoiler photos get posted over break. Pay attention to what Lana is wearing.
I honestly don’t think that spoiler is about Once, since babies have been born, but have not changed the dynamic of this show. The only for any change like to occur is if Emma was pregnant.

ParticipantHow do we know if its even Once Upon a Time’s spoiler, because the article didn’t say the name of the show. So it could be Once or it could be a different show entirely. Has anyone asked Adam and Eddy about this spoiler yet?

Participantasier answer. The description sounds like him from the movie maleficent. So while I HOPE its triton (played by willaim Shatner:P) I think its Stefan.
Actually with Ursula coming to Once there is a good chance that is King Triton. Think about it how can you bring in Ursula without even considering bring King Triton especially his all powerful trident. Since she did desire to control the trident and become the new ruler of Atlantica. I won’t be surprised if it his him, since he is only character I know that fits the description. If it isn’t him then it is a new character, but like you I hope its him. Although I am not sure about Shatner, since I would like to see him be brought into a show with a character who is from out of this world like Dr. Jumba Jookiba (Lilo and Stitch) or sea captain like Captain Smollett (treasure island). Although if he did get hired I would still welcome him to show, and become very curious about his performance.

ParticipantLOL! Maybe Henry is Assistant Savior, Rumpel was Savior Supervisor. Maybe when all this blows over, Emma could put “Savior” on her resume xD
ROFL! Oh how I wish they would add that in their resume and Linked in Account .

ParticipantI can’t fathom Belle staying with him after all Rumple’s done. I think by the winter finale, it will be the town vs. Rumple.
I want Rumple actions to be revealed, and for him suffer some consequence. Like Belle taking control of the real dagger, and to find away for Rumple to no longer be able to physically hold it like it having a magic barrier around. At the same time I don’t she will leave him, because I know that there are couples who stay together despite the lies and actions being done by one party. Since they try to work out through their issues which end up making their relationship alot more stronger. Which is what I think Rumple and Belle should do, it will be best if they start going to couple therapy, and Rumpel for individual therapy to try kick his addiction to magic. For at the very least we will see more of Archie, and Pongo in the second half.

ParticipantThe only downside….is of course Snow not feeling remorse for Cora’s death….I don’t know how I feel about that.
Well I think deep down she doesn’t regret what she did, but I do think she must regret it at some level. Just like when a woman giving birth to kid yells at her husband that she hates him, and that he the reason why she is feeling pain. Does the woman mean what she said? At that period of time she does mean it, because she in tremendous pain and is venting out her anger. Later on you know she will change her mind when she hold her child for the first time. So try to take it as temporay insanity, and enjoy the show. Although I will take Snow admittance of being the bird whisper very seriously, and consider it canon. Insanity or not, she can talk to birds, and finally that scene in season 2 when the bird delivers Cora message make sense. 😀
BAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAH “the $^$^@ am I wearing?!” Ok. This MIGHT be my favorite episode of the season. Come on ONCE. give me something to cheer.

Well my favorite line of the season will be when Snow says”Still wanna hold hands and sing zip dee doo dah”, because any reference to Song of South which like the Black Cauldron is the Disney Movie version of the black sheep of the family.

ParticipantWow, there are alot of opinion, but let me point out the fact that the hat is said to be extremely powerful, especially if it can release the dagger hold on Rumple without getting rid of his powers. We still don’t know how this hat is capable of accomplishing this task, and something tell me it won’t be through sucking the dagger in. If it is than the writers and creators must be having some creativity issue. It is due to this where I would like to mention that there is a small chance that if Rumple uses the hat on Emma that it might not suck her in like it did with the apprentice.
I don’t know what is going to happen in the next episode, and all of you could be right. He will try to suck Emma inside the hat, but I will like to see what will happen before making any judgement calls. At the end of the day I think that Rumple is a complex human being who has alot of issues, but doesn’t have the best skills in coping without going back into villain mode. As for Rumple Behavior the creators have already a similar question that came up in Entertainment weekly article. Which I will provide a link to the article, but I will mention that the creators did responded by saying:
Is Rumple’s (Robert Carlyle) behavior this season in any way related to his resurrection from the vault of the Dark One?
Kitsis: Absolutely, it is related to that. It is related to the fact that all of last season, he was a slave to the dagger under the control of the Wicked Witch (Rebecca Mader), thus reminding him how precious his life is. And it is related to this hat and what it can do for him. He is a man who has always chosen power over love, but this hat is a tantalizing thing for him that he thought he never thought he would be able to achieve. When he finds the hat in the premiere, you realize why he had to wake up in the middle of the night and do it, even though he just made a big declaration to be on the straight and narrow. For us, it was: What is this object? What is so important that would make him break that code literally the same night? It’s based on all these things we’ve just talked about.Could the Sorcerer’s hat ever be powerful enough to rewrite fate?
Horowitz: That’s a great question. Maybe. So at the very least there is a potential that Regina might go after the hat if it can change fate, especially if she want to find the author in order to get an happy ending.

ParticipantI think it’s pretty clear what Rumple wants. It was revealed that what he wants is to remove the control the dagger has over him while keeping his magic. He’s still choosing power over everything else, despite all the character growth he made in sacrificing himself to save his son and Belle.
Wanting to keep his magic isn’t necessarily ‘choosing power over everything else’.
It largely depends on why he wants to keep his magic. If it’s for something good, then I maybe it’s an okay justification (though it’s a big maybe). If it’s simply refusing to give up his power, then that’s not character growth at all, especially after holding his dying son in his arms and throwing his dagger to Zelena.
Not really, we learned that Rumple in the past wanted the hat in order to free himself from the dagger and keep his power. Current Rumple may still want this, but now he know what its like to be someone’s slave. It could be that this inspires him to try to give up the dagger in order to prevent himself from being in that position. Its just the situation has changed, and he may not want to have anyone control him or force him to hurt the people he loves. I am not saying it right what he is doing is right, but the character did evolve…. I know he performing the same action, but his motivations could be different.
