ParticipantWhat we know (that seem fairly obvious or were told to us)
I found the exact door used for door #12 here. It is a door related to Buddhism and Hua Mulan (from the Northern Wei Dynasty a time when Buddhism was introduced from India). So is this giving a nod to both the historical and Disney version?
Door #13 leads to well if the curtains in OZ though I wonder what happens if we pull back the curtains. In the books it was a guy from Omaha.
Door #14 is to Wonderland
Door #15 told to us by the creators Willy WonkaOn to the others
Door #2 has more of a historical feel to the castle window
Door #4 I keep thinking Lord of the Rings Isengard
Door # 5 as others have said the bricks reminds me of Harry Potter
Door #6 has a porthole or mirror that reminds me of EF
Door #7 ?
Door #8 It has an Atlantis or Grecian feel to it
Door #9 Has an Arthurian feel to it
Door #10 It has a feel for hieroglyphs but also I get ancient civilization in a jungle somewhere
Door#11 I see a crow at the bottom but the very top seems to be a hooded person and they are spinning something around (possibly middle being hand and item being spun around it)–or a spiral as they are prevalent in many cultures[adrotate group="5"]playarita

ParticipantDoes time in Fairy Tale Land operate differently than from our world? My idea is based on that idea.
I do like the idea of Bae being Peter Pan if only because according to Wikipedia Barrie had originally called our land as mainland essentially noting that neverland was a physical island offshore Britain (in the sea or sky not sure) so that would mean that Neverland existed in our world.
From what I assume is that our world is without magic. However more specifically it is without FairyTale Land’s magic but that does not mean we do not have our own magic. We do have supernatural and paranormal creatures (fairies, imps, the Coyote from mythology–though I think of Charles DeLint’s character of Jack) and humans do have some ability but its more in the tapping of the elements and the source rather than actual physical manipulation.
So if Bae is Peter Pan he may have stayed in Neverland and met Wendy. Falling in love meant he would give up his staying there with the hope of a reunion with Rumple.
The timeline I am using is based on the belief that because Bae left soon after Rumple turned to a dark one, and Rumple was a dark one for a few centuries… though I am using Robert’s interviewand realize that it might not be canon but moving on…
Bae entered our world in the 1700s or so and found Neverland. He stayed until Wendy met Peter Pan during the early 1900s. Especially since towards the end of the books (or movies) Wendy mentions wanting Peter to talk to her parents about something very sweet which I believe was an engagement then marriage. Wendy was about 12 when she went to Neverland making her about a couple years younger then Bae (well when he entered Neverland he would have been 14).
If the story was published in 1911 I am using that as a way of estimating when Wendy was born and when Bae would have been born (not real age but age that he stopped growing). Wendy would have been born late 1800 (around 1899 possibly 1900) with Bae being “born” a couple years earlier.
For the life expectancy it is possible that depending on the climate in Britain in that time (since there was a very serious outbreak of influenza in the early 1900s and serious sanitation issues in that time–like no one cleaned horse excrement etc. It was that bad–all of this could weaken an immune system), then add the expectations of family (is a woman expected to have a lot of children) then Wendy more than likely lived to around 40 to 50 years of age and Bae may have lived to around 50 or 60. (Also I am basing these life expectancies on my own family genealogy where in those times it was common to have men and women live to about 40 and 50 years in age possibly longer if fortunate).
However other possibilities aside from Peter Pan is that it may be possible that Bae drank from the fountain of youth periodically throughout his life which has a connection to Florida.
Another possibility is that this could something where he had heard about eternal youth and/or immortality back when our world was more rooted in magic. I believe that in past centuries ago our world and other worlds were more closely connected and possibly to the point that our world would have artifacts with magic from Fairy Tale Land. What may have happened is that Bae was cursed with eternal youth (or slowed aging for instance). It was not until meeting Wendy did her true love’s kiss free Bae from the curse. Bae in turn could have accepted it and believe that he and his father would never reunite.
What I especially love about the curse idea is that it parallels Rumpel and Belle quite nicely. In Bae’s case he was courageous enough to give up his “power” for true love.
I also would not mind it as a plot point where we see that Bae had broken the curse a long while ago. We are constantly told that magic has a price and what bigger price would be that then for Rumpel to know that he essentially abandoned his son and his son grew up, fell in love and lived his life knowing this and never knowing that Rumpel did not give up. A scene that keeps playing in my mind is where see Rumpel stand in front of his son’s grave and him devastated and muttering “magic always comes with a price.”
And if Bae does turn up to have passed away years ago that we might then meet a descendent of Bae.

ParticipantI think it depends on the limitations of the curse. If the curse can take over a large piece of land and have it be something where people in our world are turned off in developing it, or it is partly on protected land (national park) that might be one way… then can it also then alter the landscape to fit Regina’s wishes. It seems to be able given the wet, mild weather (due to being shot in Vancouver) but then how much can she alter?
We have Jefferson’s map and that can either be the world that Regina willed through her curse, or a part of the world that she decided to take over that is a real place in Maine.
For instance we know that there is an ocean in the lower corner and above might be a pond of some sort. Because I am totally not crazy or anything I found a place on the Maine coastline where it could fit.
I looked at the Maine coastline through the help of Google Maps may have an idea of where in our world where StoryBrooke might be. This theory is based on the assumption that the curse can only take over the land but not so much as to create something that is not there i.e. an ocean in the area (as opposed to my own “universe” that I had decided to go with though with great trepidation to be honest).
So where might it be located? Storybrooke may be located on Acadia National Park. On the left side of the park there is a pond called Upper Hadlock Pond and if you go up on Google Maps you will see a small inlet from Somes Sound.
Why I think this might be plausible is that it is the only area that has a large national park near an area that most tourists are better familiar with: Bar Harbor. It seems to match the layout on the map.
Not only that but with it being an island and one bridge connecting it to the mainland it could be a way of limiting traffic and population density only enough to keep Storybrooke protected (mostly from those of us from this world who might have some ability of sight –see a glimmer that shouldn’t be there, a shadow figure, a voice here and here etc).
Though the next step would be to see if there are any distinguishable landmarks or names that might be a reference to something? I think that will have to be my next area of research. If you can find anything definitely tweet about it, do a facebook status, anything (:
Also the distance from Boston to Bar Harbor is less than 300 hundred miles and would take about 5 hours but assuming that Emma may drive a bit faster i.e. she could arrive in Bar Harbor in 3.75 hours if driving 80 miles per hour. Plus it would be a better known area to travel.
