The casting news talks about a “Devil” character — I think Facilier is at the imp level of the evil totem pole. ^-^

LOL. Now I’m just picturing an office version of Hell where Facilier is trying to work his way up from imp to middle-management.

And James was a villain (of the mundane, non magical variety) so yeah, I’m sure he’s there too. If King George hasn’t been fed since S2, then he might be there as well.

On the whole, I’d expect to see: Pan (or Malcolm depending on Robbie’s availability), the Snow Queen, Cruella, King George, James…

Add to that, Felix, Walsh, numerous black guards

Maybe Cora’s in a flashback? Though it would be awesome if the dead characters showed up again. However, having all the characters that have been in the series show up in some form sounds like a final season kind of deal.

Those are some nice portrait style photos of the cast of the episode. You can really see the texture of the costumes, including Emma’s crocodile skin leather coat. Rumple wore crocodile skin leather at the DO.

The only thing I dislike is in Emma’s portrait, her hair looks like it’s just been frosted with one of those fake snow in a can things. It looks unnatural. It’s not even white blonde, it’s just whiteish.

Was Lacey not kind of Villain Belle? At the very least she was what Belle would be like if she stopped caring about other people and just went “screw you! Find your own damn solutions to your problems!”

What if the bear is Arthur? Rain in the initial reactions feedback for Dreamcatcher mentions the meaning behind Arthur’s name is Bear – (a bit of Googling found: the name Arthur (Artorius) could be derived from the Celtic elements “artos” = bear combined with “viros” = man and “orrigos” = king). Which would make King Arthur the bear man king, and if you link it to Brave it could possibly make him Mor’du and Camelot the broken kingdom would be the kingdom that fell to ruins because Mor’du’s selfishness/greediness

That actually sounds great and brilliant.

It does……which is why OUAT probably won’t go that route.

I do hope we see Facillier next season. And Jafar. Maybe someone has Scar as a pet? :3

Princess and the Frog and Aladdin are the only “big” Disney princesses they’ve not done yet.

Hercules and Hunchback of Notre Dame should also be on the list but that might be too religious for Once’s tastes.

Just clicked. Henry confirms that he’s 13 now (somehow, timeline is wonky but I always take their words for it if it’s in canon and then twist my spreadsheet backwards to make it work).

Henry being 13 kind of adds up timeline wise. He was 11 in season 1, 12 in season 2 when Emma and Snow got back from the EF when Cora was running amok

Then you’ve got the missing year plus season 4 so it makes sense that he would be 13 now (though I wish they’d show birthdays on this show). Hopefully that means Emma will be 30 soon and they will actually show us that birthday.

    Likes:

“We’re good judges of character”- Says the people who were happy for Zelena to be their midwife despite all the signs pointing to her being the Wicked Witch. LOL.

Charming teasing Henry about his girlfriend and Regina’s reaction to it- I love the little family moments and it’s a shame the show doesn’t have more of them.

Regina’s reaction towards Hook offering dating tips to Henry- Hook always makes innocent things sound seedy so I’m glad Regina basically told him to back off.

The Nealfire references- I think one of the annoying things about Neal’s death isn’t so much that he died, it’s that his death wasn’t given the emotional consequences it deserved. Everyone seemed to just move on and forget him. It’s nice that he hasn’t been completely forgotten but they really needed to deal with the emotional fallout in season 3 rather than throwing the audience some scraps here and there.

Emma crying over the dreamcatcher- She still feels upset over the loss of Neal! It’s a shame we didn’t see this in earlier seasons.

Henry being head over heels in love with violet- Even though we know it’s not going to last, it is adorable. The romantic dinner date was so cute. “It’s soda”- no it’s not it’s coke, a pepsi to be precise. Is it just a British thing to call “soda” coke or what?

Violet breaking Henry’s heart- Even though it’s not true, I liked how Violet let him down gently because she didn’t feel the same way about him rather than having her deliberately leading him on only to break his heart when her true colours are revealed.

Emma and Henry bonding and talking about Neal- Why couldn’t we have had some of this emotionality before?

Regina getting upset over Daniel- It’s nice that she still feels the hurt of Daniel’s death rather than, just because she’s with Robin now, it’s brushed aside.

Skin Deep is in the book!- However, if Rumple is in the book, how the hell did Henry not realise who Mr Gold was in season 1?

Peter selling pumpkins- “Peter, Peter, Pumpkin eater. Had a wife but couldn’t keep her;: He put her in a pumpkin shell: And there he kept her very well.”

Emma releasing Merlin- JMo’s acting was brilliant. From the look on her face you could tell Emma just got a taste of the darkness and she liked it.

Hook having limited screentime- It’s better when the pirate is used sparingly rather than forced into every scene.

The thought of Belle makes Rumple brave- It’s sheer RumBelle goodness.

    Mixed:

How many stairs does Emma have to her house?- Although it didn’t take her long per se to walk down the steps to get to the dreamcatcher shed, it seemed to be unnaturally long for a tv show. She just kept walking and walking and walking. It was just odd, there’s not normally that many stairs for a character to walk down.

Regina taking the moral high ground- Whilst in that particular case I think Regina was right to call Emma out, it does seem a bit hypocritical considering the things Regina has done in the past especially taking Belle’s heart etc.

    Dislikes:

The whole changing yourself for someone you like debate- Emma makes a valid point but then it’s undermined by the whole if Regina didn’t change, she wouldn’t be with Robin. I think that’s sending a mixed message and it’s not a message the show should be sending. They should’ve just left it at Emma’s point. Even Regina’s answer to Henry about not being like all the other boys in Camelot seems a bit weak because that’s not about Henry being himself, that’s about Henry making himself stand out from the crowd. It’s kind of like, if all the other boys in Camelot were like Henry, then Henry should change to make himself more noticeable. It’s not a good message to be sending, especially to young viewers that are Henry’s age.

Henry manipulating Emma- He pulled the same trick with Regina in season 2. Whilst the call backs to the decent seasons make the story stronger, it’s annoying how Henry manipulates his mothers when they are in a vulnerable state teetering on the edge of darkness. Henry’s actions compound the situation because he’s not spending time with his mothers because he wants to spend time with them, he doing because he’s after something or he’s been put up to it, and in a way that is a betrayal which then causes hurt and tips the balance towards darkness.

Can Merida not open doors normally? Does she always have to make a dramatic entrance?

Not enough Belle- The show is wasting Emilie though hopefully this should change next week.

Overall I enjoyed this episode and it has definitely been the strongest one of season 5 so far. I liked the call backs to the decent seasons and it just felt more character driven rather than ship driven or plot driven. I give this episode 8/10.
