I don’t think they would kill off Belle. There would be serious uproar from RumBellers if they did and the show can’t afford to lose half of its dwindling audience.

Keeper of FelixSomeone suggested this idea to me. What if the casting call isn’t actually for Hades, but for Dr. Facilier from The Princess and the Frog? He does have the appearance of a Distinguished Gentleman:
Now the one thing in the casting call that does lean more towards Hades is that he’s a “God-like figure.” However, that in itself could mean that perhaps it’s not Hades, because Hades is a full on God, rather than God-like. Facilier does have his own magic via his “friends from the other side”, AKA spirits from the after life. Now chances are, this will still end up being Hades, but I felt I should at least present Facilier as another possibility. I still think we could be getting both Hades and Facilier anyway, due to Facilier’s ties to the afterlife.
That’s an interesting theory, though I would’ve thought if it was facilier, they would’ve specified they wanted an African-American actor. The cast of Princess and the frog are the only black characters in the Disney verse so to start turning them white would raise some eyebrows especially Tiana.
And for what it is worth, Dr. Facilier is largely based on Baron Samedi who is one of the Loa in Voodoo (the top hat gives him away) responsible for the dead.
Whenever I hear the name Baron Samedi, I just think of the James Bond film Live and Let Die which has a great theme song.

Keeper of FelixI agree the aliens were unimportant although I did find the fire Lion appreacance to be very appealing but his whole I am just here to invade the world thing lackluster.
When the lion first appeared, and with Maisie in the dress, my first thought was that they were going for a beauty and the beast vibe. It was kind of disappointing when that didn’t turn out to be the case.

Keeper of FelixI accidentally missed some of this episode so I’ll have to watch it on catch-up. However I thought it was a decent episode and I enjoyed the lack of Clara.
My main criticism of the episode comes in the Clara scene where Clara is showing the Doctor a selfie of herself and one of her students. First off, Clara should NOT be taking pictures of her students on her phone, that is a big no-no for anyone working with children. Secondly, Clara should not be then showing said photo to anyone in her social circle without parental permission, though as I said above, she shouldn’t even have that photo on her phone. Clara is very unprofessional in her position as teacher to the point that she would’ve been fired 12 times over for what she does. She is a safeguarding risk to the children in her care. Clara has a duty of care towards her students and she is failing miserably. This in turn reflects badly on the school she works for as they are continuing to allow her to work there.

Keeper of FelixWhat I appreciate about OUAT is this place. This forum has helped me gain confidence in myself. I’m allowed to express my opinions and I’m allowed to disagree with opinions I don’t agree with. I’ve been involved in some spirited debates (WR, I’m looking at you lol) but it’s all been fun. As cliché as it sounds, I don’t know where I would be without this forum.

Keeper of FelixEven though those doll things don’t have mouths, the position of the neck hole in relation to Emma’s eyes and nose makes it look like the Emma doll is in surprised shock.

Keeper of FelixNot necessarily. James Woods is a big name. It’s unlikely they could get him. So, I’d say they are going for Hades because Lucifer has too many Christian ties, whereas Hades is Greek myth and thus more “friendly” on this show which has already stuck their toe in the Greek pond.
James Woods has done tv before. Family guy got him for at least four different episodes over separate season. Also, Hades might only be one episode. Also Robert Carlyle and Barbara Hearshey are big names but the show got them.
