I wonder if the darkness is doing to Emma what the First did to Spike in Buffy. The First had no form of it’s own so it took the guise of people Spike knew and manipulated him into doing things.
So we’ve got sparkly Rumple and seemingly now Merlin, both appearing to Emma but not actually being there but in her head.

Keeper of FelixMulan coming back for multiple episodes, Ruby coming back for multiple episodes……perhaps the writers are heading for RedWarrior since both ladies are single and would round off their stories.
I ould’ve thought if this was going to be the final season of Once then they would advertise it as such, you know, the final battle. They could be leaving that for 5B I guess but still if this is the final season, you want people to know that so that they’ll tune in to see how it all ends.
