ParticipantWe might possibly also get a Cora appearance in flashback since she said she killed Lancelot in season 2. Who knows

ParticipantOk, when did baelfire abandoned Rumple?was this something shown this season? Because i was sure that was the other way around, Rumple was to scared and abandoned baelfire at the portal. So they rewrote that on S4 as well?
Baelfire grew distant from Rumple before the portal and then was separated from Rumple is what I meant by “Baelfire left him” however I realise it was listed amongst people who did abandon Rumple so I can see why there is confusion but Baelfire’s leaving is not the same as Malcolm’s, Milah’s, Cora’s leaving.
It’s not Baelfire’s fault that the relationship broke down between him and Rumple but I guess the point I was trying to make is that Rumple believes he is unlovable because he has been unable to hold on to any form of love in the past wheher it be through people abandoning him or his own actions in trying to prevent losing that love.

ParticipantI’d agree….but then CS happened. It wasn’t canon for ages, but got promoted as such owing to “wish fulfillment” (Adam’s direct words about the S3 finale). Is CS not also a “semi-incestuous” ship? After all, Hook did have romantic relations with both Henry’s grandma now Henry’s mom. Hook being Bae’s step-dad (counting Milha and Hook’s 7-year relationship as a common-law marriage), sorta makes Hook Emma’s quasi father-in-law, as is Mr. Gold. CS makes as little sense to me as GoldenSwan does, which I never really liked even back S1 before we knew Gold was Henry’s biological grandpa.
I’d count CS as not as semi-incestuous as SQ for the fact that Hook isn’t as familial linked to Emma as Regina is. If it were a Hook/Henry ship then that would be semi-incestuous in the same way as SQ is. CS is not ideal, the Bae connection is the big elephant in the room, and there is other issues there as well but CS doesn’t seem as family connected as SQ.

ParticipantOh SDCC can’t get here fast enough…..Dark Emma just sounds like it’s going to be quite enjoyable to watch! Imagine the possibilities…..hopefully she’ll act as she would had the Shattered Sight curse affected her.
Dark Emma will be interesting for CS as TLK should theoretically break the curse since Emma would retain her memories and feelings (since Rumple did), however, Dark Emma can’t be solved too soon otherwise where’s the show which means a CS TLK likely won’t work so where would that leave CS?
If a Henry/Emma TLK works then that proves Blue Fairy was shady when she neglected to tell Baelfire this.
A cop out would be if Emma is MIA or separated from the main cast for the majority of the first half and then the moment she is reunited with Hook TLK happens.

ParticipantWell it won’t work now at all. There is no curse to break. Rumbelle are never going to get their Beauty and the Beast TLK.
They might…..if Rumple takes the curse back on himself to save Emma as he sees it as his burden to bear then Belle saves him with TLK. The B&tB TLK was the END of their story, RumBelle are still in the middle of theirs……or it could all just be wishful thinking.

ParticipantAnd I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I think Adam’s right…Yvette was referring to rude fans as not being real fans.
I agree. The thing is though, the “bad apples” of the SQ fandom hurt their own “cause” by their bullying behaviour. Such behaviour should not be rewarded because that sends an awful message that its okay to be nasty and spiteful towards others if it gets you your own way. Other fandoms probably have this as well but in the Once fandom, it is most prevalent in the SQ faction. Also it’s not just SQers asking a couple of SQ questions, it’s a few BAs trying to make the whole thing about SQ, which isn’t canon, to the exclusion of everything else.
SQ isn’t going to happen in show, not because it’s LGBT, but because there is a semi-incestuous element there in terms of Regina is kind of Emma’s step-grandma through Snow and Snow still sees Regina as her step-mother. There is chemistry between JMo and Lana but Lana could have chemistry with a brick wall so it might not be intentional between the characters. Were the Snow connection not to exist then SQ would be a viable canon ship.

ParticipantMy belief about TLK as we’ve seen it in the show is that both parties must truly love the other–to the point they’re willing to sacrifice for the other. Haven’t time to detail all the examples, but the one moment when TLK almost worked for Belle and Rumple, he’d sacrificed the obvious pleasure he had in her company by letting her go, and she’d sacrificed her freedom to come back in the belief she could help him get free of his curse.
While I think there ARE moments when TLK should have worked later by this theory, I think that Rumple was never completely willing after that moment for even a split second to give up his power for Belle–save when he sacrificed his life to save her and Bae. That, which is all wrapped up in his belief that he’s unlovable and helpless without his power, is why TLK hasn’t worked for them since. (The fact that he DID give her the dagger briefly on their wedding night, though…)
I think the reason why TLK hasn’t worked for RumBelle yet is because Rumple doesn’t believe he’s lovable. It’s such an ingrained fear in him. His father abandoned him as a child, Milah left him, Baelfire left him, Cora left him, etc etc. By the time Belle came along, Rumple was so used to people rejecting him that he was waiting for Belle to do the same. When TLK started working originally, it wasn’t until Belle uttered the words “any curse can be broken” hat it failed. In that moment, Rumple believe it to be a trick, that it wasn’t real.
For TLK to work, both parties have to believe in the love. Belle and Rumple love each other, but Rumple doesn’t believe it will last despite how much he wants it to because past experience has taught him that it doesn’t last, he’s always left alone. Unfortunately for Rumple, the more he tries to keep Belle close, by hiding things from her, the more he ends up pushing her away. He is his own worst enemy.
