I think bringing Neal back in a capacity that would avoid another CaptainSwanFire triangle is a good idea, however, pairing him up with Zelena is not the best fit in my opinion (not only because I have my own crack ship involving Zelena) but for the simple fact that she killed him. It just seems wrong to have a character want to pursue a relationship with their murderer.

In BBC’s Merlin, Gwen and Arthur did truly love each other and the whole Gwen and Lancelot affair was because Gwen was put under a spell that made her do it and Lancelot was back from the dead and controlled. It was specifically set up for split Arthur and Gwen up.

Arthur’s casting call says he has an “eternal burning love” for Guinevere which suggests he does actually love her and that it isn’t just a marriage of convenience.

I wonder if the writers are aiming to redeem Zelena to avoid backlash against Regina just taking her baby and playing mommy to it whilst Zelena is left to rot. Zelena might be killed off but her dying wish is for Regina to be a mom to her child.

It would be extremely annoying but the writers love going the “sympathy for Regina” route. They’ll end up having Zelena giving her permission for Zelena to raise her child because then that storyline would be tied up in a neat little bow for them.

I think Rumple’s freak out at going through the portal with Baelfire in The Return takes on a whole new meaning after having seen “Think wonderful thoughts”. Even Rumple’s dialogue “It’ll tear us apart” takes on new depth. The portal scene with Baelfire is deja vu for Rumple only he is now the father instead of the son. In fact any time Rumple mentions his father in earlier episodes takes on a new dimension since we now have actually met Rumple’s father and could see what he was like.

Arthur’s casting call bugs me. Specifically the bit about his eternal burning love for Guinevere making him a bit “controlling”.

We all know Guinevere and Lancelot are going to have an affair, yet it seems like in television that whenever a woman has an affair, it’s her husband’s fault that she cheated on him, yet if the genders were flipped and the husband cheats on his wife, then the husband is a douchebag. It’s double standards. Why can’t the woman be held accountable for her own actions instead of blaming the husband?

If the husband has an affair, the wife is always presented as sweet and loving and what a jerk he is for cheating on her. Yet if the wife is having the affair, the husband gets the blame 9 times out of 10 because he’s “oppressive” or “controlling” etc etc.

I can see a lot of possibilities to use Zelena outside of the baby scenario. She is an extremely powerful witch with a lot of knowledge. She is an instant information source and can wield that information to gain more and more freedom within Storybrooke. She could become a Rumple-type character.

Thing is, if they use Zelena that way then they are stepping on a lot of existing regular characters toes. If Zelena is the information source, where does that leave Belle? As you say, Zelena is “powerful” with “a lot of knowledge” where does that leave Rumple when he does re-enter the story? Each existing character has a role to play within the group but if Zelena starts doubling up on those roles then you have a surplus of characters doing the same thing.

So are they going to drop someone as a regular to make way for Zelena and Robin as regulars?

The most logical choice would be Will as he hasn’t done anything relevant throughout season 4 and was completely absent in some episodes.

If they don’t drop somebody, that’s an awful lot of regulars to juggle screentime for, and since each “arc is only 11 episodes and you’ve got new characters to introduce as well…..unless Emma and Rumple are going to be out of action for a while so Zelena and Robin are filling their spots temporarily but then you still have the same problem when Emma and Rumple do come back into the story.

The two characters likely to get shafted on screentime are Will and Belle, possibly Henry too. I hope they don’t drop Belle as a regular to make way for Zelena, Robin might be taking Will’s place, Belle is one half of RumBelle which still has a big loyal following. It wouldn’t make sense to drop one half of a popular pairing for Zelena, a character nobody really likes.

This is getting ridiculous now. What’s the point in having a forum to discuss things when you’re not allowed to discuss things?

It’s not even a “debate”. Nobody is arguing that Hook didn’t teach Henry to sail, the point is that Neal ALSO helped Henry to sail just a little bit yet wasn’t credited for it alongside Hook. Whilst Jenna_B might be right in that time was of the essence in this case, it’s just another instance following a whole list of things where Neal is the giant elephant in the room that nobody talks about.

Hook did teach Henry sailing because they went on sailing trips. All Neal did was show Henry how to hold a steering wheel thats it – its not teaching (i didnt learn to drive a car in one lesson, i was TAUGHT continuously). Its not the same as teaching someone in depth like Hook did… in season 3 and season 4 where they did spent time together on sailing trips. and Hook knows more about ships, stars and ropes.

Neal did teach Henry to sail partially on the way back to Storybrooke from Manhattan. Whilst you are correct that it would take more than one lesson to learn to sail properly (at least in real life, since Henry had one disastrous driving lesson in 3B yet was able to drive well enough out of Storybrooke and to that diner in Operation Mongoose part 1), the point is that Henry was crediting Hook as being the sole person to teach him to sail, when in reality, Neal played a part in that as well.
